Pereira; Fosu-Mensah, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Mitchell; Carrick, Pogba, McTominay; Harrop, Rooney, Dearnley.

I think that will be the team, although not sure about Rooney playing, but there literally isn't another striker that wont be involved in the final on Wednesday.
Might see Willock and Gomes start instead of Carrick and Rooney with the latter two coming on in the second half.

I would've preferred Buffonge in over Mctominay who's done quite well after stepping upto the U23s. Could be purely a positional based selection though.

I think the more experienced players will start the game to bring a bit of composure to the team, just in case a few of the youth players are nervous.

Was going to post "who cares" until I seen the press conference and now im actually excited to see some of the youngsters get a run out. Hopefully they go out and enjoy it as there is absolutely zero pressure on them. Gomes

Really looking forward to seeing how Mitchell does. Been arguably our best player for the U23's in a completely new position so let's see if he can take that to the first team. Hope he doesn't play it too safe as he really has the attacking capabilities.

Sounds good on paper but the truth is, none of our regulars who watch the kids weekly are pumped about anyone apart from TFM and Tuanzebe. Some have called them the worst U23 team/squad for some time, so I'm expecting a big fat nothing to be honest. Hoping for an unheralded player to 'do a Rashford' and pop up with a surprisingly good performance.

Anyone who gets the correct lineup in this game should get a fecking tagline.
Which is surprising, because there was no game this season with so many tips (contradictory, I know) from the manager.

Mitchell is decent. Whether he's United standard or not is another matter, but he's made a good transition from winger to lb. Gomes is exceptional but rarely plays with u21s because he's only 16. He's a very special talent, though I seriously doubt he'll start. Would be great to see him from the bench though. Joel Pereira is considered to be a very talented young keeper. Harrop has talent but I'm not convinced of him at a higher level. Think he'd be a solid signing for a team in the Championship and could potentially become a Premier League midfielder. The rest are pretty average youth talent.

Mourinho will play few first team players for half the match or so. Hopefully no injuries.

    Final Predicted Lineup:
    _______________________________________________

    Pereira

    Tuanzebe Bailly Jones Mitchell

    McTominay Fosu-Mensah Pogba

    Mata Rooney Harrop
    ______________________________________________
    Bench:
Romero, Darmian, Carrick, Willock, Dearnley, Gomes, Martial

Edit: Decided to switch Martial and Harrop based on many saying he had a great game against Spurs U23s which Jose was there to see.

Useless match but still can't wait for this due to the squad!

Wasn't even interested in watching this match, but I'm starting to come around.

Hoping for plenty of youngsters in the starting XI and a tactic that doesn't consist of just not losing.

This match has become much more interesting after seeing Jose's presser. Would be incredible if Gomes got his debut at 16!

    I'd love to see

    Pereira
    Fosu-Mensah - Tuanzebe - Bailey - Mitchell
    Willock - McTominay - Pogba
    Harrow - Dearnley - Mata (c)

    Subs: Gomes, Gribbin, Olosunde

I know it's a nothing game and we have a European cup final 3 days later, but I do hope JM doesn't start too many youngsters and we end up getting spanked 5-0 or something silly.

I'm all for giving youngsters a chance and resting others but I'm sure the place will be buzzing because of the final and will still have 70+ thousand in there.

What's happened to Regan Poole? Also Tyrell Warren, Mourinho was singing his praises in pre season.

    Pereira
    TFM--Tuanzebe--Bailly--Mitchell
    McTominay--Pogba--Blind
    Mata--Dearnley?--Harrop

    no idea.

Surprised to see Olosunde in so many teams, don't think much of him myself. Dearnley or Harrop should keep him out on the wing and Tuanzebe, Poole or Fosu Mensah should keep him out at full back I would have thought?

    Pereira
    Poole Bailly Tuanzebe Mitchell
    McTominay Pogba Fosu Mensah
    Mata/Young Dearnley Harrop

Maybe? Bit toothless up front, maybe Rooney instead of Dearnley?

I don't think Olosunde is in the squad in the end. Maybe because TFM is fit.

    Harrop AND Gomes?! Oh, my...

I hope they're on the pitch together for a bit.

Mourinho implicitly said so in the press-conference.

I didn't hear him mentioned. Jose mentioned Pereira, Harrop, Fosu-Mensah, Tuanzebe, Mitchell, Dearnley, Wilock, McTominay, and Gomes. Pretty sure that's it.

EDIT: Reading that back, you probably meant Jose said implicitly that TFM was fit as opposed to Olosunde being involved in the game. My bad

Poole won't be there since he wasn't in the training squad. I don't think Olosunde was either but people are considering him because he has been training with the first team squad for the last few games. I agree with you though, he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team. I think he's rubbish tbh
