I'm interested to see how the young players fair, when you think a year ago Rashford was new and most exciting player to watch at the club the next one could be playing Sunday.

Rooney, Carrick, Bailly will play. Possibly Mata and Jones. Rest can be the kids.

Interesting. It will be curious in itself to see where Mourinho places the youngsters. For instance, wasn't McTominay being used as a center-forward lately? I've seen him as a substitute for Fellaini during his suspension, but that would suppose a 4-3-3, I guess, specially if Pogba's taking part.

He has, but only due to our U23 having no strikers. He's a midfielder.

If Jones plays Sunday, that means Smalling was the chosen one.

    Oh, my God.... Harrop!!!

    Pereira
    Olosunde Bailly Tuanzebe Mitchell
    Carrick
    Gribbin Harrop Pogba Lingard
    Rooney

I don't even which position half these youngsters play, so I have just put them all in the line up prediction hoping they slot in somewhere! Only Rooney, Pogba and Bailly from the main squad are in my lineup. I just hope to see some goals and be entertained. Our recent games in the PL have been pretty much unwatchable.

Demi Mitchell - originally a winger recently converted to LB
Harrop - Either AM or on the wing
Dearnley - Winger, maybe striker sometimes
    Willock - CM
    Olosunde - Mainly RB

Think that is most of the ones been mentioned

I remember him playing as a striker(iirc) in young age group at a match against a French side.

Thanks! Now that I know where everyone plays, my line up would be

    Pereira
    Olosunde Tuanzebe Bailly Mitchell
    Willock
    Mctominay Pogba
    Harrop Rooney Dearnley

It isn't live on Sky as they are showing the City, Arsenal and Liverpool games. So at least the kids will be spared Souness's scrutiny.

Possibly. Players in the young age groups tend to play in different positions but since about 16 anyway his main position was on the wing. Was played as a striker at the start of the season too but then changed to LB after Riley went on loan.

Don't care. Gives us an excuse to play the kids. If this game meant something, I would want it to be moved, but then it would be a lot harder to move just 1 fixture forward if it was going to be important

If anyone gets 11/11 for this game I think they must work for United or something :wenger:

As someone else mentioned it'll be nice to see the kids play and watch without being stressed, we can save that for the final.

Mourinho himself already said 8/9 of those who are going to start, so…

What's everyone's view on whether this game should have been moved to Saturday?
Fans have made travel arrangements so it's difficult to implement at short notice. Would have been handy though.

Given that we have a final next week we should play only those who are not deemed essential, or at least only let them trot around for 20 minutes. Rest is essential as the final may go to extra time and a player like Rashford probably can't be replaced but may well end up exhausted after 90/100 minutes.

Play lots of those youngsters on the verge of breaking into the squad but make sure they're not made to feel responsible if the team loses really badly.

    ----------------Pereira-------------------
    Tuanzebe----Bailly----Smalling----Mitchell

    -----------Mctominay Pogba-------------
    Dearnley--------Willock---------Harrop---
    -----------------Rooney-------------------

No idea on the team, if Palace are also treating this like a dead rubber and play reserves we'll sneak a 1-0 win. I can see it being Rooney.

A couple of posters have him at RB that's all
Because he has started three games for us and none was as a center-back. Mourinho himself already stated he prefers to try Tuanzebe for now as right-back. And if Bailly is tired, he won't probably play him on the wing. Tuanzebe could play in midfield again, but since there are a lot of youngsters Mourinho has named who play there, I'm not expecting it.

I think Pogba will start, Carrick most likely not (but he may come off the bench just in case it is his last Premier League game for us at Old Trafford. We may need him even more for the Final if Fellaini's injury ends up being more serious than expected. It's a similar situation with Rooney, but I expect him to start and then be subbed off (probably for Carrick actually, both getting to captain the side). The rest might just be the kids.

    Pereira
    Oslunde Bailly Tuanzebe Mitchell
    McTominay Pogba Willock
    Harrop Rooney Dearnley

de Gea; Poole, Riley; Redmond, Carrick, Lingard; Bohui

Maybe a bit optimistic with the amount of young players. I do think Lingard will be on the bench, Carrick, Rooney, Pogba, and Bailly (if fit) will all play a part. I can also see one of Smalling/Jones/Blind featuring in some way as well.

Anyone who gets the correct lineup in this game should get a fecking tagline.

Could we maybe play Fosu-Mensah in the DM role that Tuanzebe's had lately? Tuanzebe back in his natural CB position?

Pereira; Fosu-Mensah, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Mitchell; Carrick, Pogba, McTominay; Harrop, Rooney, Dearnley.

I think that will be the team, although not sure about Rooney playing, but there literally isn't another striker that wont be involved in the final on Wednesday.

Willock's squad number is 42 and he's 20 years old (20/08/1996) if you want to add it to the line-up predictor page @Niall
