    13:40KEY EVENT
    United matchday squad vs Brugge
Fred wasn’t spotted by our photographers so isn’t among the names below. Martial was spotted but not pictured at the Lowry Hotel.
Goalkeepers: Sergio Romero, David De Gea, Nathan Bishop
Defenders: Victor Lindelof, Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly, Brandon Williams, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka,
Midfielders: Andreas Pereira, Bruno Fernandes, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata, Scott McTominay, Jesse Lingard, Angel Gomes,
Forwards: Daniel James, Tahith Chong, Odion Ighalo, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial (not pictured).

I don't expect a strongest 11 however there shouldn't be rotation to the extent that we are in danger of going out. My fear is that Ole is in the mindset that being at Home with an away goal means we'll end up going through regardless of our 11, that thought process could see us upset.

    A likely 11 for me: 4-

    ----------------------------------------------------Romero-----------------------------------------------
    AWB----------------------------Baily------------------------Lindelof-------------------Williams
    -----------------------------------------------------Matic--------------------------------------------------
    ----------------------------------------Bruno-------------Fred------------------------------------------
    ---------------Mata----------------------------Martial---------------------------------James

    Bench:
    De Gea
    Maguire
    Shaw
    Dalot
    McTominay
    Greenwood
    Igalho

    - I don't expect McTominay to start just yet, he'll come on off the bench for more minutes, maybe start vs Everton

    - None of Bailly, Williams or Mata featured vs Watford so I can see them coming in.

    - After impact in his 10mins in the away leg plus performance vs Watford, I cant see how in would enter Ole's mind to go i nto this game without Bruno starting.

    - Not sure Igalho will start a game just yet for us, that along with Martial good form and James improved performance vs Watford, I think they'll get a chance to carry that on in a must win game.

    - I haven't included Lingard or Pereira in the 18, however after being completely dropped after the 1st Leg and Ole's comments about them needing to improve after not playing well. I wouldn't be surprised to see 1 or both feature tonight in some way in a 'Prove me wrong, show me what you've got' type selection

Off to the game tonight - my first game for a while to be honest but looking forward to it.

    il go for:

    romero
    AWB-Baily-Maguire-Shaw
    Fred-Mct
    Mata-Bruno-James
    Martial

That’s nonsense in my opinion. Andreas would be one of their best players there if he plays for Brugge
I'm not so sure about that. There isn't anything he does that stand out to come to that conclusion.

Friends sending me WhatsApp videos of them singing and drinking on Shambles Square :( Jealous as feck atm.

I think this will be close to the starting line up. I think that Mata will play in place of James on the right and Bruno will play down the middle (in Mata's place in your line up).

Yeah, its a tough one with Bruno, we want him to play every game but at the same time, you just don't wanna overplay him as I really value winning most our games in the league and finishing 4th.

It's ok to play Lingard and Periera today but starting from next round we need to start playing with our best team. We're not guaranteed CL qualification via the league and we need to keep our EL campaign alive.

I don’t think it would be the end of the world if we went out and could completely focus on the league. We shouldn’t put all our eggs into the Europa League basket this time. 4th is very much there –

Chelsea are shit and Spurs’ injuries will surely hit them hard. We have a couple of players potentially coming back from injury and a new signing and our expensive defence is looking a lot more settled now. Even if we don’t make it there’s a chance 5th place could qualify us for the CL.

The Europa League is such a slog to win I’m not sure we’d be capable of winning it and getting top 4 – we would have to prioritise.

Rather win a trophy than come 4th. Or we're just another Arsenal.

Well I feel getting to the final would hamper the league form enough to miss out on 4th and it would be much harder to win than in 2017. So would we rather finish 5th and lose the final or finish 4th.

Safer bet to (a)maintain competing EL while (b)continue fighting for 4th with 5th the potential safety net.

Rather than gamble on just one n drop the other. That's too risky.

5th might be enough... I'd like us to stay in as long as we can and try win it. To me, qualifying for the champions league isn't that much of a big deal when you have no chance of winning it.

Losing today would be disastrous and won't do the moral of the squad any good. If we play well and Ole manages the squad smartly there is no reason why we can't achieve both the tasks.

Nathan Bishop is the guy we bought a couple of months back yeah?

I’ve had friends that only watch basketball ask me how this guy plays at this level. In a few years time we will be asking ourselves how he pulled off one of the biggest frauds in football

There's no need for a manager to come out with something like that, it's unprofessional.

Ex-manager. Presumably doing a talking head bit on the telly or spouting bollocks for a paper opinion piece.

I would rather Manchester United not get eliminated out of European competition by Club Brugge. There is no benefit to a humiliation like that. How about we just finish 4th and try and win the competition like a proper big club instead of giving up

I hope Andreas starts tonight and scores a goal to shut him up
Guaranteed in my opinion. Anything less then perfection from him with the minutes given (after what was said about him) would say more about his place at this club.

Absolutely, on all counts. And almost everything Ole has said since he arrived points to him not folding in any competition. I think he'd rather go down fighting than retreating.

That’s not the point. Some people would happily be knocked out of Europa to concentrate on getting in CL through league position.
Reminds me of every average premier league manager. Does everything to get in to the European places yet moans about Europe the following season because it hinders them getting in to Europe.

The choice is not between winning Europa and only achieving top 4. That's a no brainer. Winning Europa means a cup and a CL spot.

The choice is would you take a risk and let go of top 4 to have a crack at Europa or would you play it safe and try to ensure top 4.

For sure. We should be winning this tie. If we go out it should be to another big club, not fecking Bruges.
