I'm thinking if we go four up, we might be ok.

    that’s ambitious
It was a tricky shot but a very slow one.
Im sorry but your keeper is supposed to keep you in the game, same way Sanchez kept Chelsea alive this half.

More often than not Onana is burying us alive. Tonight he won a 1v1 only to concede on their second shot on target.

I’m overreacting right now but it’s not the first time when under the slightest pressure our keeper is unable to help the team soak some of it. And that’s been the same scenario this season, we play reasonably well the first 20min, then there’s a bit of pressure from the opponents and we concede a flukey goal, often not helped by the keeper

Onana has had awful moments this season, that was not one of them. I don’t think any other keeper gets grief for that goal, feels like some people may just have it in for him.

We scored our usual 1 goal. Don't expect much more, we have clowns attacking for us
Front three have generally been good. Whole half of a game to go. Better to miss easy chances and keep creating more than do what we've done previously and create nothing.

It makes a nice change to be annoyed because we've played well and should be winning!

Losing the goal came from our poor game management again. It started with Shaw who was not under much pressure in his own half playing a stupid ball to Garnacho. Garnacho was coming back towards Shaw who played it in the air towards the winger. Garnacho had no chance to control it and the fullback intercepted it. So we lost the ball in a transition in our own half again.
We do that so many times. Shaw should have been more patient. With just a few minutes before half time where we are struggling to keep control we have to hang on to the ball.
Play the simple pass. Not the 50/50 ball in your own half.

I felt for him when he won that ball, jinked past the player onto his left and chose not to shoot as it was so far out, passed to Bruno and made a run through thinking he might get it back and Bruno just leathers one with no hope of going in.

Happened on more than a few times with balls out to Garnacho as well. Hojlund hasn't been 'great' by any stretch but his own individual performance has been fine on a lower level. Would I love for him to come up with a moment of brilliance and/or run etc? Yes but when he's had the ball, he's done alright, which is as good as you can hope for a kid not really match sharp playing in such a disjointed team.

Chelsea faced 18 shots in the first half, the most shots any side has had against them in the first half of a Premier League game that Opta has on record (since 2003-04).

We are actually having a good game, wowzers! Though Chelsea are truly abysmal. Will it continue in the second half is the million dollar question?

Garnacho does everything Rashford gets absolutely slaughtered for. He’s constantly losing the ball
At least he isn’t trying to beat his man using the “knock the ball straight at him and hope he turns into a ghost” method that Rashford’s been trying to introduce all season.

Brave, dynamic, progressive. Add clinical and we're in motion.

It’s telling that people say we’re playing well & Chelsea have had multiple breakaways/overloads.
    We’ve had 13 shots with 6 on target…in 45 mins

That’s Christmas come early for Utd fans who have been starved of any real attacking threat all season.

We have looked good going forward but Amrabat and McTominay in midfield is an massive issue, neither of them are able to defend and are leaving our defence very exposed.
Tbf I think amrabat has been OK today but anyone will struggle playing on their own in that position given how high up mctominay is playing

Really good attacking performance but the defence was an absolute mess. Should be winning still though. We've been wasteful

you will see it as you like but that was not a gk mistake. only for those who have an agenda against onana
I don’t have an agenda against him. But it seems you’re not allowed to criticise a player without having an “agenda”. Jeez. I don’t really mind him, he has good and bad moments like most keepers. Until the goal he’s played well.

Yes he missed chances but he gave some playmaking, ball progression and link up allowing others to do their thing. Plenty of hard work as well.
One thing people don't appreciate in Antony is his off the ball work. Whenever he plays that right side looks a lot more solid and he always wins the ball back in dangerous areas. Unfortunately, we never take advantage of it though because of our attackers decision making.

Finally a change that is done in right time. Correct change. Lindelof was so poor today and made whole back four nervous.

Some positives tonight so far, but we are playing a really naïve schoolboy brand of football.

We score, you score, we score, you score.

If we can do all the good attacking stuff, the pressing, and creating chances, but then have the ability to control the game as well, put a foot on the ball, and not be so open in the middle.

We have seen this since Wolves at home, the opposition can play right through us. It is bizarre that we still haven't addressed it. When the ball is turned over in the middle, Bruno and McTominay are too far forward to track back and they have a free run at our back 4.

If we were playing any top 6 side tonight, we would be 3 goals down. We have been lucky that we are playing Chelsea.

I think if we get a goal up now, stick Kobbie on and tighten it up in the midfield.
