Suppose it was a bridge too far to see McT dropped as well. Unfair on Mainoo to play back to back in 2 massive games.

If he does feel the need to rest Mainoo to manage his minutes I would far rather see Hannibal alongside Amrabat. You would at least get some real energy and pressing in the middle of the park and he will always track back and show for the ball.

I don't actually hate Scott as a bench player, if you need a goal with 10 minutes to go he is a good option to throw on, but he cannot be starting games as besides that goal threat he offers nothing.

I think the Newcastle cup game ruined any hope for Hanibal this season unfortunately.

Hojlund was just out for a short time, Antony is a different kind of player and at least on paper reduces our goal threat. Garnacho deserves to play though and Martial, well it's Martial.

All potential options are now available so it makes it easier to drop a player. Definitely should have done it earlier though.

Yes absolutely our defense has looked stellar. Lindelof is clearly the better choice you're right mate.

Either way though it's a player that's never once had an issue with any manager he's been under and is far more accomplished than Ten Hag but all of the sudden Ten Hag freezes him out and they have issues. This isn't even a Sancho situation either.

That is a big part of why Erik won't make it. If he likes you he will forgive multiple terrible performances and doggedly keep selecting you but if he doesn't you just need one poor game and it is off to Siberia for 6 months.
