I don’t particularly think the system suits him either tbf. As one of the front three he is expected to come inside, he is more an old fashioned winger for me, or a wide midfielder.
not making excuses as he has been poor (although teammates haven’t been using him when he makes his runs), but he seems set up to fail right now.
would like to see a change for the second half, maybe Greenwood or Cavani for James.
He cant do that on the LW either in my opinion. He cant hold on to the width because whilst his pace is good his dribbling ability is average and runs directly at the oppositions feet.
As a RW he atleast uses his pace to try and beat his man out wide and cross the ball in even if he isnt looking at who he is crossing to.
I only see James useful here as a RWB or a RW. I'm not a fan of him at all because I never see him able to play as part of the team on a wavelength like Mata, Bruno, Van de Beek, Martial, Rashford, Pogba and Greenwood can. They want and can play in a flexible but similar way. James has only one ability that he always tries to utilise and ends up failing.
