What? Almost nobody says that
Glad atleast some people have this view. I posted in another forum saying Pereira could easily replace Ander in a mid three and people said I was joking.

The way Pereira is playing I wont be surprised if he get ahead of Ander by the end of next season. That kid have almost everything you need from mid !

If Jose settles on 3 in the midfield next year, Ander will have to produce more going forward or he will be replaced by someone like Pereira or a new buy. It's that simple. If he can produce, great. If not he'll fall back into rotation.

If Jose settles on 2 in the middle then I think he will go to 3 at the back as it might be the only way to play 2 and free up Pogba.

In a 4-2-3-1 Pogba likely starts to show frustration at some point next year unless we are getting the results. I know if I were making the decisions I'd build the team to get the best out of Pogba because Ander's qualities are easily replaceable.

Good at breaking up play. Don't think he's good enough at everything else, but at least he plays with a bit of energy

whatever midfielder we bring in needs to have more quality on the ball than he does. He's great for winning the ball back, but we need someone who can dictate and be more threatening on the ball than he is so that the opposition can't always just assume Pogba is gonna be on the ball.

He'll be great if he's not our second most gifted midfielder, as he's not actually that gifted.
just a few snippets. there's loads more

On FS2 they expect Chelsea to score in the second half and predict a draw. Nothing outrageous but, after the first half I'd be bitterly disappointed. Need to keep the level up and not let them come into the game - no panic stations and keep doing what we've been doing.
Tiredness might show and we might get drawn back, pushing our defensive line to close to the goal.

Can't believe some are moaning about Pogba, he's lost the ball needlessly few times but has been pretty good overall

Cant argue with that half. Everyone has done their job brilliantly and great tactics from Jose. Hopefully we can hold on or grab a couple more goals. Deservedly ahead. Played Chelsea at their own game and bettered them so far.

Rashford's high pace and movements as an attacking point is more Dangerous than zlatan who drops deeper with no pace to get in the box quickly. as it streches the defense and sends us on a quick counter from the central areas.

Tactical master class by jose, Fluid flexible and balanced.

Proper decisions on the ball and better finishing and better attacking players would have sent us 3-0 up.

Not a handball for me. The rule is deliberate. The ball ricochets against him and and you can see Herrera clearly pull his arm away from the ball and back towards his body as it happens. I can't see any deliberate motion to handle the ball there. His arm is out a bit, but you don't play football with your arms by your side, so it is in a natural position for that situation.

I thought more would have been made on Costa's shove. Neville said "not much in it", but he sent Bailly flying headfirst towards the goal post. Bailly was fortunate he was able to stop himself with his hand a bit. That, and the blatant dive, he should have had two bookings before he was actually booked. Kante must have made about 4 fouls so far as well. Yet, Souness and Lampard say the referee has been kind to us. :boring:

Mourinho has just performed a tactical masterclass and bamboozled everyone.

No matter how the score ends up, I think a fair few owe our manager an apology.

What a manager. He is the special one.

Hardly master class if we don't go on to win! A first half doesn't count as masterclass!

I was hoping we'd grab a second, will be mighty nervy second half now, expect them to raise their game. And that cnut Costa, I'm sure he'll be up to antics

Good performance so far. Still not sure that we'll be able to keep this up for the rest of the game. Young has been the only one who's been poor this half.

Just keep it going - wins a great result and fitting revenge for Costa being a dickhead and for Mourinho vs Chelsea - oh and the 4-0 earlier in the season

The notion that Ibra holds back from an attacking persective is definitely plausible. Think back to RVN, the 2 situations are almost identical and Fergie - in his infinite wisdom - made the hard call and sold him to Real for the betterment of the team.

Jose, especially on todays evidence, may have to do the same. Though personally I'd hate to see Ibra leave. I don't envy Jose on this matter.
First game it happened though. We have been without Ibra a few games this season and been poor in all so I think we should leave it to 3 or 4 more games to see it.

I realize that I've lost the ability to care about United. Not sure when it happened, but at some point over the last 4 horrific years, I've become jaded. With so much else going on in life, United have just been bumped so far down the list. Didn't even watch the last three games. Slept until half time on this one. Can barely be bothered to watch the second half. Kinda shocked by my apathy after over 30 years of actively supporting the club.

Actually still worried of the second half. Let's hope Jose keep on with this masterclass tactics today.

Great half, great game, great tactics and performances but the question is how will Conte adapt? And can we maintain our intensity or will we sit back again?

just a few snippets. there's loads more
Well I maintain that despite his good assist he can't be our second best midfielder. But yea, you're not overreacting after an assist and following a player around like a robot

Souness is clearly wishing for a red card for somebody... Anybody. It's all he's talked about

Pogba thinks this is italian league where people will stand off granting him time till forward players take up good positioning or pirlo comes to help.

Just notice how deep the champions to be defend! Mourinho has all the reason to call them a counterattacking team.

Close to perfect display from United so far. The question is if that intensity can be kept up in the second half or if Mourinho has a viable plan how to make up for fatigue.

Wrong thread, you're looking for the Anderlecht post match.
