Chelsea had one shot, and not even on target. Tactics spot on.

Mourinho has just performed a tactical masterclass and bamboozled everyone.

No matter how the score ends up, I think a fair few owe our manager an apology.

What a manager. He is the special one.
Would be nice if we could see these masterclasses before top 4 is gone.

Well done. I wanted to do something similar but am far more lazy. Great half of football by us. Rashford steppted up and doing a job Ibra couldn't have done. Fantastic thus far.

United were better for at least 40 minutes, just at the end Chelsea began to get something together. Should still be 0-0 though, with that handball before the goal.

"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."
"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."
"You don't understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I could've been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am."
"Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."

Lol at this place when the lineup was announced. I bet no one thought we would be 1-0 up at first time.

Everyone is doing his job as intended. Hopefully Costa doesnt get subbed now because he is for sure a red card walking on the pitch. I hope our guys stay concentrated in the second half because we havent let their class players room to play. Typical mourinho performance, which i love it

People, this is working out (till now) against this Chelsea formation, doesn't mean it's the way to go forward in most games.

Never a handball. Has to be intentional. Hand away from the body as you sprint and then balance yourself as you set for a tackle =/= intention to handball it.

It is amazing that this dribblers get paid millions to analyse football every week and don't know these basics, or least interpret the rules to fit their own biased agendas.

Against the performances we had like 15 shots on target just on the first half, instead of these 5?
5 chances where we were clear of the last man.

The stats don't reflect the nature of the chances. A shot from 15 yards out can be clearer than one from 6 yards, depending on how tight the marking is. We're playing with a tempo that's allowing the attackers to get an extra yard, and that's barely happened all season until now.

Why are people complaining about Pogba? Personally think he's actually done well.

Because he plays like he's faster (thinking) than he actually is. Certain teams aren't going to let him sit back and boss the midfield. Kante has been more useful for Chelsea than Pogba has been for United.

If Martial is not injured how he is not ahead of Young? He could have done much much better IMO.

    Games not over yet sunshine.

Can't believe Souness is saying Herrera has fouled twice and will most likely get a yellow. What about Kanté? Jesus

The biggest difference today is Chelsea havent got their crowed screaming everytime they fall over.

    Seconded!

United fans today were far to quick to judge (as they have been all season in fairness)

Agree some people went mental but we shouldn't do the same in the other direction, meaning that one great half doesn't make up for the fact that we have been having a subpar season and most of the time our results have been poor.

Easily one of the best 45mins I've seen under Mourinho. The formation is perfect. We've missed having this Pace up front. That goal is not possible with Ibrahimovic. Hope we can get a 2nd goal. Chelsea will come back strong in the 2nd.

Martial doesn't do wingback (Shaw, though, might). He doesn't even do secondary striker, like Lingard.

Great first half. Rashford has been amazing.

Pogba looks very casual, apathetic. Not getting into good areas.
Actually I think Pogba's role today is defensive, and Ive enjoyed his discipline and concentration. Looked like a cultured defensive midfielder so far.

Dont need his offensive contribution today as Rashford, Young and Lingard casting Chelsea enough trouble. He just needs to constantly be the extra man for the defenders and Herrera and make sure he does not lose the ball when he passes.

On FS2 they expect Chelsea to score in the second half and predict a draw. Nothing outrageous but, after the first half I'd be bitterly disappointed. Need to keep the level up and not let them come into the game - no panic stations and keep doing what we've been doing.

For all the geniuses that talked of us being destroyed when they saw the lineup, Chelsea has had all of 1 shot at our goal so far. And that was a long range effort that went well wide.

Agree, I'm guilty but I take it back, he really has surprised me today with this setup.

Before a ball was even kicked this looked like something Fergie used to do on occasions in some of the bigger games. He'd pick a lineup that had a lot of people saying "the feck is that?" but it'd go out there and get the job done. The tactics are spot on, Herrera doing a job on Hazard and pressure on their players from every angle.

Brilliant performance. Sadly the United section on here verges on unreadable at times so wasn't surprised to see so many kneejerk posts before the game crucifying the lineup, manager and everything else imaginable.
