What I'd like to (but obviously won't) see, in fact this is closer to how I hope we start to line up in future:

    De Gea

    Shaw
    Bailly
    Varane
    AWB

    McTominay
    VdB

    Lingard
    Sancho

    Cavani
    Ronaldo

Two quick centrebacks capable of holding the line as high as needed to compress the field with full backs/attacking midfielders capable of carrying the ball forward and causing damage in transition. Finally, at least one hard working forward in the front two.

Maguire has been dropping rickets for ages so the first argument doesn't stack up. And he was brought back into the side way too early when he clearly wasn't up to scratch a few months back so the second argument doesn't cut it either.
There always seems to be some lame justification for starting Maguire no matter what he does. We have options. There's no way on this earth that Maguire should be the first name on the United team sheet....or any United team sheet for that matter. I don't get it when even the likes of De Goat and Ronaldo are put up for rotation by many.
I’m not saying he has to be first name on teamsheet but like you said Varane needs nursing back into action and lindelof is out.

Too much of a risk to drop Maguire and play Bailly and Jones. It just ain’t gunna happen mate.

I reckon there will be a couple of changes to the selection tonight. Hoping we just deploy one deep midfielder against Burnley rather than two. We don’t need McFred starting this one. A lot of calls on here for Ronaldo to be dropped but I cannot see that happening.

    Starting XI

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka - Varane - Maguire - Shaw

    Matic

Sancho - Van De Beek - Elanga

    Cavani - Ronaldo

subs: Henderson, Dalot, Bailly, Telles, McTominay, Fred, Lingard, Greenwood, Rashford

Score Prediction: Manchester United 2-0 Burnley

To get suspended, you need 5 yellow cards within 19 games (one match ban) or 10 yellow cards within 32 games (two match ban).

Maguire, Ronaldo, Fred, McTominay, Pogba and Shaw are all on 4 yellow cards after 17 games.
    Thanks

We had all this stats nonsense with Smalling a few years back. I don't have an agenda with Maguire. He's just shit and certainly not the level of player we should be aspiring to, let alone having as captain of Manchester United. We'll never get back top the top if we don't fix up. I don't get what Caftards see in this player that the rest of the football world don't. It's embarrassing.

The excuses made for Maguire are fairly pathetic. “Oh well he stays healthy” or “he progresses the ball well.” The standards are so damn low now for a CB at this club. Maguire will go down as one of our worst signings in club history. Sell him to the Saudis to recoup something and go for Kounde or De Ligt. In the meantime start Varane with Lindeloff or Bailly and we might actually see an improvement with our back 4.

Can we have a new thread, "oh no it's almost kick-off"

Harsh on Dalot if that’s true. No real need to rotate for fitness given we didn’t have a game for two weeks and the 3 day gap. I think we’d do well to see him given a proper run.

Cavani, Sancho, VDB, Shaw and AWB likely to come in for Greenwood, Rashford, Bruno, Telles and Dalot according to MEN.

"The early word" they got is from Paddy Keogh's tweet

which is pure speculation. He has no more idea than we do regarding lineup until he posts them 75 mins before kick-off.

We attack better with AWB and Shaw, theyre better carry the ball forward.
Dalot and Telles are next to useless if they aren’t crossing it in

Say what you want about Ronaldo but he doesn’t work hard enough, he needs to be used as a bit part sub.

It’s really messed up our entire system, Bruno under Ole had to play a lot closer to him which disrupted our play.

Im sure we could still press this well in a 4231 or 433, the reason we can’t is because of Ronaldo. He’s a great player and a real asset but we need to use him the way which is best for the team
not best for Ronaldo. The whole
Needs to be working together all the time!
Rashford is even more lazy than Ronaldo. We can’t have them both on the pitch at the sane time! Its not like we pressed better before Ronaldo joined!

    I'm liking this......I'm liking this a lot

Shaw (when on form) is obviously better than Telles. Dalot progresses the ball better than AWB with his passing and is more likely to be in better attacking positions to receive the ball, although I do agree AWB is better at carrying the ball forward himself (despite his strange and clumsy style).

Yup, but I still went for this line up in the prediction game

Rashford can do it and if he doesn’t he gets benched. Anyone who doesn’t contribute gets benched, we must take give zero f**ks, keep them happy by all means, tickle their soft bolls but do the best for the team
and if that means dropping a big name then so be it.

What are the chances we are 3-0 up at HT and finally score a set piece goal?

A comfortable 90 mins for the first time in forever?

Very shoddy from Luckhurst using some random FPL Twitter account's prediction as real news. This one is more reliable.

The Everton game was supposed to kick off at 7.30... I quite like being able to watch the 7.30 game for 45 mins and then watch the second match in full.

So you're gonna watch Everton attempt to play football for 45 minutes, then switch over to watch United do the same for a another 90?

Have you always been a masochist or is it a new thing?

Normally would watch the first half of game 1 and the whole of game 2...
