I would really like to smash these after all the hassle they've causes us at home over the years.

A 5-0 win puts us on the same points and goal difference we finished with last year, with 6 games left to play. Let's go for the throat.

Somebody says this before every game. Have faith, we'll win.
I know, I know. I’m normally very level headed and have said I think we’re comfortably the second best in the league for a while. Just think it’s seeing City do so terribly last game and the potential of an [admittedly very unlikely] comeback story rearing its head that has me a bit anxious.

That guy can go eat gravel as far as I'm concerned. Oh, he likes that?...

I think we'll win this, but it'll be tight. We'll probably go behind too.

Ole partly blames going behind so often on the Europa League, which is interesting...

"Sometimes we've been criticised for starting slow and having to come back for being 1-0 down," Solskjaer conceded.

"But at times there is a reason behind those stats, because we played on a Thursday night. Hopefully we fly out of the traps on Sunday, but sometimes it doesn't work that way."

I would like to take Rashford to the bench for his extra rest when our them pkay well. Then put Pogba to the left hand side, or we put VDB to start XI, it seems he play well on Friday.

It's possibly a fair point; if I could be arsed I'd look into how teams across Europe are affected by midweek ties, especially those Thursday trips. I understand we've had a particularly bad couple of seasons regarding fixture pile-ups, lack of pre-season preparation etc. so I'm aware there are legitimate factors around fatigue. I've grown frustrated with Ole sometimes laughing off 'another comeback' in post-match interviews while seemingly not addressing the issue, as it's happened time and again, but I'm sure he shares our frustration and has tried to address the issue.

This coming week will be the first time since the start of the pandemic (other than international break) that we’ve not had a midweek match. It’s just a mental statistic. We’re essentially 1or 2 training sessions down a week, then you add in the travel. All things considered, we’ve done not that bad.

I heard it’s Donnys birthday today so surely he is getting a start and Ole hasn’t been playing him to make this moment all the more special.

    Possible banana skin this one.
Burnley just one place above the relegation spots. They'll be up for it, and it won't be pretty...

Absolutely. Turning in lamentable first half displays more often than not has been a frustration this season, and as fans it's been difficult to assess what could have been done better by Ole and the players to address what has been a chronic issue for us, but I always try to keep the context of our fixture list in mind when appraising United this season. As you say we've not done badly at all this year all things considered.

As for this game I think it'll be tough, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if we went behind.

Wtf is this crap? you don't start players because it's their birthday.

7 days between this game and our next. I can't remember the last time that happened.

    Henderson
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Fred
    Greenwood Bruno Pogba
    Cavani

Is my expectations. However would be nice to have Pogba deeper and Rashford left if fit.

I’m still bitter about the dreadful 1-0 loss near the start of the season around a decade ago when Chelsea nicked the title. (that one was away though I think)

Maguire should definitely not play, risking him for Leeds and Liverpool isnt too clever. Give Tuanzebe another go.

You want to go into a game against Burnley with Lindelof and Tuanzebe at the back? Would be suicide.

Also, why is he a "risk"? Wasn't aware he was carrying an injury.

If he’s booked he’ll miss the next 2 league matches.

He's on 9 yellows and the threshold for a 2 match ban goes from 10 to 15 yellows after this game.

Ridiculous suggestion anyway. Just tell him to avoid getting a booking. It's not that hard.

He must have missed the memo for those 9 bookings:rolleyes:

Home games against Burnley since their promotion in 2016:

    19/20: United 0-2 Burnley
    18/19: United 2-2 Burnley
    17/18: United 2-2 Burnley
    16/17: United 0-0 Burnley

    Pretty shocking.

You need to play what's in front of you, and you really risk this game today by taking out our best CB and our only CB capable in the air.

Holy shit. Didn't realise it was so bad.

He has also not been booked in 22 games, that's 71 % of the games.

Avoiding a booking for 90 minutes isn't difficult. Go into the game with a mindset that you're already on a yellow card at kick off. He played a game against Burnley earlier in the season where a booking would have ruled him out against Liverpool. He didn't get booked. This situation is identical. He isn't getting rested.

The 0-0 one, was that the game where we should have won by 5, but Heaton had the game of his career ?

Do you all mean cruelly mocking a man's appearance for being overweight? Same as another called him 'fatman'? Yeah, I guess that is a bit bad taste, stupid and terrible...

Ah, wait, no, you probably think that's fine to mock a male officials appearance. Otherwise the 'fatman' post would be being quoted as well. So I guess it's just the posters reference that a female official wears a bra? But the insulting personal remarks about the male referee are OK?
By all means, feel free to draw your own conclutions and get offended. Both insults are bad taste.

Much rather Rashford was rested for this or at least on the bench. I’ll assume the medical staff know how to manage him though.
