No Martial even on the bench? Why?!? Damn... hope we win and Lukaku doesn't screw up.

Ole looks like he's aged a bit over the past few weeks. Hopefully he kicks on and keeps the streak alive.

Weird. A player whos done nothing to justify a starting place makes you happy but not mata.

We have seen the best of Mata, he is on the way down. We already know what he can or cant, maybe wont be here next season. Pereira is only starting and a youth product. Weird.

No Dalot? What does the kid do wrong. Young was very poor against Arsenal but OGS seems to like him. I dont really see much leadership from Young. Dalot would've been perfect for this game especially because he adds height. Sanchez got subbed off against Arsenal because of fitness but he should be starting over Mata when he is playing with confidence. Just looking at the lineup the same way I wouldve if Jose was manager. Really odd decisions. This is a PL game we need to win, seems a bit naive not to play full strength.

It might be because he wants a winger who has the energy to cover for Dalot because he will be targeted due to his inexperience. In this game Mata does not provide that cover because his legs are gone.

Mata is nearing the end of his career and he's not really that suited to our new fast style of play. I'm not saying he's not a top bloke and a very good football player, but fans might be a bit more excited by a young prospect that came through the ranks rather than a 30+ year old that's a bit on the decline.

I hope that the ref takes care of the rough play which will certainly come our way!

Why don't we start Sanchez from the left now that Martial is injured? Not too optimistic about this lineup tbh. Jones, Lukaku and Mata...

I'd imagine this to be Rashford and Lukaku as wide forwards and Mata in false 9. That would suit all three players the most.

Lingard is a BIG miss. He's the 'glue' that holds the attack together.

Mata is playing because Ole reckons he can be that 'glue' to a higher level than Sanchez.

I'm not sure I agee, but it looks as though Alexis has a long road back.

Maybe it's a fitness thing, but it could just as easily be Solskjaer giving Sanchez the Mourinho treatment.

I have to agree. I think we should have played with Sanchez, Rash and Mata instead of Lukaku but the lineup is still enough to win anyway. Just thought Martial's injury could have been a chance for Sanchez instead of throwing Rash on the flank again.

Hope the players don't take Burnley lightly. It's crucial to get the 3 points, especially against a team which we are on paper, the better team. Especially seeing as we have all these hard games coming up.

My concern is that mata has no legs. Lingard was putting in work harassing people against arsenal.

But he's in the right place to pass it around and link up at least.

Don't think that's the case. Vs Spurs and Arsenal, their FBs push very high, it was a tactic to exploit the space. Vs Burnley don't think that will be the case.

Not happy with that team, will be Ole's first mistake if we end up dropping points because of it

I think we might play with two strikers in diamond.

A it nervous as It's easy to under-estimate Burnley who can be bloody awkward team to play against. I guess like Ole said, if players are here then he has to trust them but not sure I would. I'm yet to see some have a good game here under any circumstance.
Yeah, share the same feeling. A few changes and I can see the performance level dropping quite a bit.

Hopefully we'll smash them 5-0 so people wont question Ole's team selection next game.

Lukaku hasalways been good againts small teams, Mata has the occasional goal in him and Rash is Rash.

Midfield looks fine, if we wont give chances to youth in these games, we'll never give chances(cup games againts bad teams aside).

    I say.. 4-1 us
Lukaku double, Rash 1, Pereira 1 via freekick

    CANT WAIT

Sanchez is needed to change things up if needed late on. With Martial out I think it's a great call by the management

    A strange omen backs United
United have a higher win rate in games played on Tuesdays (62.5%) than any other side in Premier League history, winning 30 of their 48 such matches.

Mata was a Spanish international just signed by Chelsea when he was Pereira's age! Fine, good to give Pereira a couple more starts in the team under a more positive regime, but it's surely last chance saloon for him now.. He's only 7 years younger than Mata for goodness sake!!
