We can't counterattack due to Zlatan. Big mistake by Jose to play him.

I loved Ibra and thought he was the player of the season, but it is time to let him go. Unfortunately, Lingard is also not the long term answer to the #10 position, if only we could combine the pace of Lingard and the technique of Ibra...
It's not Zlatan's fault that nobody's running up the pitch as de Gea catches the ball with 20 seconds to go. That's not supposed to be his job, so why's that particular situation his fault?

You'd think that one of Lukaku or Rashford would be busting a gut to get up the pitch for a last chance. Instead, de Gea's left with nobody to kick it to and has to play it short.

We lost this. It'll be painful to complete the full 90 minutes. Let's just hope Chelsea bottle their game as well.

All players are in terrible form. Our bench is useless today as well. Mourinho and his players look in terrible mood and can't see it improving.
It does feel hopeless at this moment in time especially since our players ran out of ideas after the first 20 minutes. However, a quick goal can still change everything, particularly since they're dropping so deep and providing so much last-ditch defending.

For that to happen, however, we will need our attacking players to commit to a certain approach, whether it's relentlessly crossing the ball in and fighting for the second balls, playing short, quick, intricate passes past Burnley's defensive lines, or by being uber-direct and trying to play early through passes past Burnley's defence. So far, our players seem to be confused, and each player is taking a different approach from the other. This lack of chemistry is shocking, to be honest. After 1.5 seasons, you'd have thought that our players would have had a better understanding of how to play with each other under Mourinho's system, but we're still disjointed.

For the second half, we'll need width, but we have no one to properly provide that. If it were up to me, however, I'd take out Rojo and bring in Mkhitaryan. I'd have Rashford as the left winger, Shaw as the left centre back pushing up, and Mkhi roaming around and creating some more spaces.

I'm not even angry anymore, just deflated..

    Very much this.
It's become such a recurrence for us over the last few seasons of performances like these in which its hard to not develop an attitude that middle tier clubs get when they get a bad result.

We can be as arrogant as we like by saying that our fandom attitude stinks but in reality, the glory days are gone and we are still very far away from properly challenging for the title despite our improvement this season.

Congratulations City, you have truely given us the perfect example of how to destroy the league.

United, we're showing everyone how to finish 4th or below in a three horse race.

A second half turn around might give us a massive lift and do wonders for the team, but a 1-2 defeat with some huffing and puffing seems more likely
Honestly it wont do shit. There isnt just one thing wrong with our team like confidence for a result like a win here that is going to fix us. We have so many issues, it is going to take a while to fix.

TBH that team would probably be just as bad. I remember they would beat Liverpool and in the very next game loose to some average side like this Burnely.
Yeah I know but that’s what I mean they would still put this lot to shame!! That’s how bad we are!

First goal....Well, the curse of Atkinson strikes again.

But since then, probably about as *ank as it gets.

Although I can't believe that any of us on here would have put out that starting eleven - so disjointed and absolutely no creativity or penetration.

Is it just me that's getting fed up to the back teeth of providing smaller clubs with sensational headlines for tha back page ??

I'd take zlatan and rashford off for mkhitaryan and lingard. Yes they're two strikers but we only need one if we make the chances. Need some pace movement and risk , may as well lose 3-0

It's not Zlatan's fault that nobody's running up the pitch as de Gea catches the ball with 20 seconds to go. It's not like that should be his job.

You'd think that one of Lukaku or Rashford would be busting a gut to get up the pitch for a last chance. Instead, de Gea's left with nobody to kick it to and has to play it short.

Nonetheless, a functioning #10 would create more. We are crippled with Zlatan, and I am actually a big fan of him.

Our wall looks like a typical gif of the Kop.

 Matic looks like he's been photoshopped.

Did not expect this at all??

Expect to be 2-0 down at home to the might of Burnely? No, not in a million years.

I actually refuse to believe the current scoreline. I'm leaden to believe that this is all a huge WUM and EVERYONE outside the Cafe is in on it.

Well, well, well, Jose did bring in Mkhi for Rojo, and it seems like he's taking out Ibra as well for some more movement via Lingard.

Miki and Lingard coming on. At least some speed and creativity upfront I hope. Still can't see us getting anything out of this game though.

We honestly need proper full backs. Have Young and Valencia play there is not the solution. If Mou doesnt trust Shaw, then get him out and bring in two proper full backs this summer. This is just ridiculous.

Can't say this often enough. While they're both decent options to have an ambitious team needs more than decent options starting week in week out.

    Two half time changes

Drastic measures from the manager. Rojo and Ibrahimovic the men replaced, two the poorer performers.

It might be because this is the first time I've consistently watched a Mourinho team week in and out, but aren't we the worst Mourinho team you've seen?

In the second year now and we should be pushing and seeing good play consistently. Yet we are conceding from set pieces, look shaky in defense and in attack we are so poor.

    Dear Lord.
Miki is coming on. He is the last guy I'd want to bring on when we need to score.
That guy can't score, can't tackle, can't defend. It's like playing with 10 men when he is on the pitch.

Mourinho will be gone at the end of the season, he looks like he has no confidence, nor do the team, I'm sick of watching average players week in week out.

We're struggling today, sure, and I feel you're right.

How can having a boss that has practically shown zero commitment to the job inspire confidence in the players? I'm sure Jose has reasons for continuing to live out of a suitcase, but to me it just comes across as incredibly short-termist. Shame.

a goal until the 60th minute and you will win this. Don't forget Mourinho at home.

Honestly it wont do shit. There isnt just one thing wrong with our team like confidence for a result like a win here that is going to fix us. We have so many issues, it is going to take a while to fix.

Our points suggests otherwise. I see what you mean but for me taking the foot off the gas and some self belief is the big missing piece.

    Ok mkhitaryan save yiur career

To be fair, despite what the scoreline suggests we've hardly been battered by them. A goal from a set piece which we foolishly conceded early and then an absolute worldie of a free kick no keeper in the world would have saved. Had we ended the half 0-0 I'd be encouraged considering the possession we're getting in the final third.
