Brighton & Hove Albion (nicknamed The Seagulls and Albion) are a professional football club based in Brighton & Hove. The club was first formed as Brighton & Hove United on 24 June 1901, and the name was quickly changed to Brighton & Hove Albion. The club took the place of a defunct club, Brighton & Hove Rover, in the Southern League In the Southern League they won their only national honour to date, the FA Charity Shield, by defeating Football League Champions Aston Villa in 1910. There had previously been Old Brightonians, representing the area in the FA Cup in the 19th Century. The club initially played at the Hove County Ground, with a few games were also at Goldstone Ground that was used by Hove F.C. From 1902 onwards, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. and Hove F.C. shared the Gladstone Ground. In 1920, 19 years after the club was formed, they were elected to the Football League's new Third Division.

Mismanagement brought Brighton close to relegation from the Football League to the Conference which they narrowly avoided in 1997 and 1998. A boardroom takeover saved Brighton from liquidation, and following successive promotions they returned to the second tier of English football in 2002, from then on playing in the second and third tiers of English football until the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, where the club earned promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history, marking the end of a 34-year absence from the top flight. Bighton's fans consider Crystal Palace to be their biggest rival with matches between them termed the M23 derby, and they play their home games at Falmer Stadium.

They’re our bogey team and those first eighty minutes of tonight’s game were genuinely horrific. A team of amateurs would have done better.

    They’ll win 3-0.

Probably good that we had that 80 minute shit show tonight for a reality check.

Christ, this is going to be tough.

    A draw might be lucky

We have played better in games we are big underdogs and this game falls under that category. Gives me some hope.

Also, we have Amad and they don't.

Luckily this isnt on sky. But surely we cannot be any worse than we were tonight.

Can only be better than tonight, surely. That awful performance for 70 minutes will hopefully give the players a reason to put in a proper performance for this one (you never know). Really sick of losing to these lot. They’ll be favourites, too. Come on, let’s do ‘em!

Amad +10 others who'll blow hot or cold. More often cold. I'd love to see one or 2 other players learn from his work-rate, attitude and quality.

    Onana
    Mazraoui De Ligt Martinez
    Amad Ugarte Collyer Dalot
    Garnacho Bruno
    Zirkzee
This is the team I want to see as well.

Mainoo, Højlund and Yoro(yes he's young, I know but still) needs benching. Garnacho as well tbh, but we don't have anyone else to put next to Bruno and Amad as RWB.

    Onana
    Mazraoui Maguire Martinez
    Antony Ugarte Collyer Dalot
    Amad Bruno
    Zirkzee
Feel like De Ligt needs a breather, and Mazraoui just isn't showing enough going forward in the wing back spots, he's been far better for us at RCB.

Mainoo needs a rest. Can't be starting him so often. Hojlund absolutely can't play either. Garnacho I thought did well and should keep his place.

Zirkzee has to start, maybe Collyer as well. I fully expect Brighton to outplay us and win as that is the most likely outcome based on current performances.

At some point we have to finally win back to back league games and maybe we’ll get some confidence from the win tonight but I’m not holding my breath after the level we played at tonight.

I would actually like to see more of Amad + Antony on the right.

    ................ Onana

    . de Ligt - Maguire - Martinez

    Amad - Ugarte - Collyer - Dalot

    ...... Antony - Fernandes

    .............. Zirkzee

    GK: Onana
    CBs: de Ligt*-Maguire-Martinez
    Midfield: Antony-Ugarte-Collyer-Dalot
    Number 10s: Amad-Bruno
    Striker: Zirkzee

Possibly Mazraoui at RCB instead of de Ligt. Would be delighted with a draw tbh as I think we'll concede many chances again. Predicting a 3-2 loss though.

Just play Amad as wide right and high up the pitch as we possibly can. Then try to give him the ball all game. That should be our gameplan. Simple as. Not even joking.

Give zirkzee a start. Play Bruno CM next to Ugarte. Maguire back in for Yoro. Amad at RWB. Dalot on the left and Mazraoui back to RCB.

I’m selling all my belongings so I can back Welbeck to score

In terms of blind faith: Brighton have been pretty fecking shit recently. They’ve gone under the radar due to the likes of us. Today was their first win in 9. Including a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton. Some decent results against Arsenal and Villa though

The only saving grace is that Welbeck has already got his obligatory six PL goals this season. I don't think he's actually allowed another.

It will take a very long time to convince me that a corner has been turned.

So for the rest of the season anyone! can beat United and it won't be a shock.

But as long as they try hard and never give up, which is a very low bar tbh, but if they can do that then I won't complain.

1 win, 1 draw (won on penalties) and 5 losses in our last 7 against these seagull cnuts.

Have we ever had such a run against a non-top 6 side?

Mazrouhi looks like he needs a rest, for me just bring in Dalot for him . Resisting a knee jerk reaction, Mainoo keeps his place over Collyer.

Bruno, DeLigt, and Martinez have played full minutes in last 2 games, including the 120 minutes on Sunday and alot of it only with 10 men. Need to keep rotation in mind, 2 games a week for next 2-3 weeks. Would love to get a 2 goal cushion and be able to get them off at some point.

    Onana
    De Ligt-Maguire-Martinez
    Amad-Mainoo-Ugarte-Dalot
    Bruno
    Garnacho-Zirkzee

Only problem with this is there is no impact player coming off the bench, only Maz and Hojlund can possibly do something. Antony needs a run of games before he can begin to at least be a threat...

They are a better team than we are, the table isn't lying. Would take a point now if offered.
