I'm so scared, so so scared. More than you know it.
Back in the 90's I used to throw up so much in the morning worrying about the game. It got so bad that I had stomach ulcers and affected my life. I think it lasted for about 4 years.
I was in the military and everyone in my barrack block laughed at first and then got so worried about me.

Then about 2003/2004 I just calmed down. I think it was being told i could die from the stress. I got my health better and 2005 I got my season ticket. Which I still have.

Today I write this on the train from London to Manchester I can say I'm the most relaxed person ever regarding football. Maybe I'm getting old. I'm 50 by the way. Today will be a very good game. Brighton are a good team and we will probably concede. However we can win this game and 3 points will be bloody fantastic.

Today for me is meeting my mates, having a nice meal before the game, a few beers and just watch the footy. At no point will I worry....Well not much. I just want to enjoy the day.

So relax dude. Life's too short. It's just a football game. Enjoy the day and watch some good football played. It's not like we have Moyes as manager

A draw would be a fantastic result, but I think there’s a high chance our home record ends here. We’ve been very poor, while they have been playing some quality football. So many injured on our side as well. Digging in deep and playing on counters would most likely be best. Just don’t get stomped, that’s all I ask.

no way is Hojlund playing right wing. We have a brilliant young right winger in Pellistri who has been waiting his chnace, i hope he is given it.
Other options is to stick rashford there, he is much less effective than on the left but with Garnacho a great left wing option its quite likely he may get stuck back out there.

A draw fantastic? Get a grip mate

    I like your attitude!

I used to get nausea on game days, but not so much the last few years. I think the state the club's been in, has helped with that

    Thats right aim high. Wtf.
I thought we played really well away at Arsenal and could easily have won that game, Garnachos goal should have been given and had it been i think we win .
Nothing less than a win today is expected. Im excited to see Hojlund and Amrabat…

Surprised to see so many lineups suggesting Rashford right wing. I’m not sure how many times more we need to see it to realise it’s as good as playing with 10 men. It’s pointless. If anything, it’s more worthwhile trying Garnacho there if ETH insists on not starting Pellistri.

    Best attitude to have.

I do sometimes think United (and football in general) is too much of a time consuming aspect of my life.

Whether that’s actually travelling to the game, reading here, BBC Sport, Social Media, talking about it etc - it then becomes inevitable that when things don’t go well on the pitch, it feels much more significant and impactful than it perhaps should be.

I guess it’s about trying to process the emotion - but it’s not always easy to have a healthy relationship with football.

Well it is nauseating watching them at times and this injury list is just beyond a joke, now Amabrat is injured as well, back to the team selection thread for yet another amendment.

    Thanks :)

Yes, 100%. We are embarrassing when it comes to how we are run. We are trying to be and are expecting to be the No.1 team in the world. Yet I feel we couldn't manage a dodgy Belgium brothel.

God, to think think of old prostitutes on £5000 per hour salary and people queuing up for them every week. :wenger::lol:

Encisco is out. No Caicedo but they are still a strong side. Massive game considering the shitstorm we were facing last weeks. This can be a good respond. Opportunity for some players to step up.

I think about this a lot. We just have one life. Maybe 70 years if we are lucky. 16 hours everyday. Do we really wanna spend 10-20 hours every week on a sports club? Is this the best thing to do with our life? But idk, I'm probably addicted at this point.

    Lads, it’s Brighton.

We’re a different animal at Old Trafford entirely. We’ll be fine. It’ll be scrappy but we’ll get the win.

There's no way Eriksen is not starting. He was our best player by a country mile against Arsenal, and it's so clear that when he's in the team, we're much more composed in what we do.

There''s a number of ways we could set up today:

    Hojlund
    Rashford Bruno Pellistri
    Eriksen Casemiro
    Dalot Martinez Lindelof Wan-Bissaka
    Onana

    Hojlund
    Rashford McTominay Bruno
    Eriksen Casemiro
    Dalot Martinez Lindelof Wan-Bissaka
    Onana

    Hojlund
    Garnacho Bruno Rashford
    Eriksen Casemiro
    Dalot Martinez Lindelof Wan-Bissaka
    Onana

I know there's a split of opinion, but I thought we played well against Arsenal. We seemed to be in control both on and off the ball, especially in the first half. I think what let us down, was our poor decision making in the final third on the day.

I hope Pellistri gets his chance. He's been really good in the few mins he's got. Deserves a chance to start and if he doesn't deliver we can bring in Garnacho and play one of him or Rashford there. That being said wouldn't be surprised if Bruno plays on the rw.

fecking hell. Digging in deep and countering at home against the mighty Brighton? A draw a fantastic result? Tragic post.

I sort of understand your “journey” to enlightenment. It is just a game. And I usually don’t worry, unless we’re playing Liverpool (and then I actually do feel a bit sick beforehand).

My main problem is after the games when we lose. My mood gets quite badly affected sometimes. It can last a while. I don’t think it’s affecting my health but I wish it didn’t happen. How did you learn to let go?

Need to get back to winning ways so please don’t ruin our weekend Utd. Give Pellistri a start.

    Onana

    Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Martinez - Dalot

    Casemiro - Eriksen

    Pellistri - B.Fernandes - Rashford

    Hojlund

Bayindir, Maguire, Evans, Reguilon, Gore, McTominay, Mejbri, Martial, Garnacho

Manchester United 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion

Don’t be daft! A draw would be okay at best. Sure we could lose (I hope not) but a win is the only “good” result here.

I’m not worried at all. But if we lose I will be miserable.

Oh my fecking god digging deep for a draw Vs Brighton at home how we have fallen if this is what the fans have become. We won against city, Liverpool and Barcelona at home last season, the mighty Brighton - as good as they are, and they are REALLY good - would definitely take a draw at OT. I imagine that's what is gonna happen eventually, because we aren't actually that bad ourselves you know, there's still a few footballers left at Manchester United. But we shall see, if we lose today then I'd YOLO in a load of youngsters because it's league season ending stuff if we do lose.

You are right, there is definitely a split of opinion, but I guess you have those who look at how we started, against Wolves, extremely poor, how we won I'll never know, and in parts of the games v Spurs and Forest we actually played some decent stuff. The Arsenal game was the best we've played 'this season', but I can understand posters who think we didn't play well, and to a certain extent they are right, we should be aiming to control a good chunk of these matches, but Arsenal are a very good side, and we restricted them to not many chances, and they scored in the 94th and 98th minute I believe, and that Garnacho 'goal' was a 'fingernail' away from being the winner, (that was a quote from a devout, long time Arsenal fan of 60+ years). He said that that was the best he'd seen United play this season, he thought Hòjlund was a handful for Arsenal's defenders, and he thinks he'll benefit United greatly.
A piece of Trivia, this guy was the manager who developed the Forest player Gary Mills before he joined Forest, and became part of the European Cup/Champions League winners many years ago.

Why do I find myself looking forward to this, when I know deep down, it will be terrible?

You might just be a fan of the team and while that's commendable it's also a very serious problem so I'd keep it quiet if I were you.

To blend in, start using phrases like:
    • It's amazing how Antony and Sancho have fecked up our entire season
    • Can't believe Maguire is starting. EtH is a joke!
    • We're gonna get absolutely tonked by Bayern. Kane will have a field day against this joke of a defence :(
    • Oh look T.rashford is back
    • Fred... :wenger:

Could the mods amend line up selection? Bailly, Mengi, Williams and Alvaro Fernandez have all left the club

Draw is fine not because it's only Brighton because we have a huge injury list and playing a top 6 team who is quite brilliant on the ball.

But yes, loss would be a disaster.

We are two wins away this week from Ten Hag being the worst or best manager on the planet according to our fans. Truth is we’ll win today and lose to Bayern. Bring on Brighton.

I would take a win today and a loss v Bayern if offered right now. Perfectly acceptable set of results for our team.

A decent win here will go a long way. We could put together a decent run if we get the win here. Next few league games are Burnley, palace, Brentford and Sheff Utd.

Am I on the Luton Town forum ?

Ye I think todays more important… Brighton aren’t exactly a rubbish team and will give us a good test to see if we’ve learnt anything during the international break. Can see rival fans saying we was lucky or some sort if we pulled of a win today.

I think he means with all the injuries we’ve got. If we win with the injury’s we’ve got then we have probably overachieved. Alls I want to see is better football being played than the last 4 games.
