Mrs Bobby wrapped up in her blanket

    Well, that's that then. Thankfully.

It's a another insipid performance. Devoid of any joy or sense ambition.

Mourinho will probably say 'we controlled game... fantastic...'

Well, we shall see. I hope we draw Wigan.

This is what drives me nuts this season. This performance is almost as bad as midweek. The difference is we scored first and Brighton haven't taken their chances to equalise. And yet there won't be the storm of criticism there needs to be. These performances are awful. Even in victory we need to be shouting it from the rooftops. Our first shot attempt in the 2nd half went in but we are Manchester United and should be having 15 shots a half, battering at the door. We play half paced football.

This has actually been worse I think.

Yes there would. And penos- imagine the poor feckers in the upper part of the stand...

Hmm, I'm too old, I guess. I still recall the days when there were three or four replays. But is this a new thing - no replay from the quarter-finals?

One of the most boring games ever

Players look completely devoid of confidence on the ball

Happy with 2-0 scoreline at moment

No confidence in the team, it shows. The international break has come at a good time

How can we lack in confidence after this sequence of comeback victories against Chelsea and Crystal Palace followed by victory against Liverpool?

Because the manager was a coward against Sevilla which drained their confidence. No different to what happened after our 0-0 against Liverpool.

Sanchez and Pogba both unused. Maybe Mourinho should do the same in the next game to try and get them to pull their fingers out

The Matic goal was the only shot we've had in the second half. See Jose, look what can happen if you actually allow the players to fecking shot now and again.

We play our football like disgruntled employees do their job. Functional, without a smile and doing the absolute bare-minimum.

I think it's fair to say this performance, while being a win, is not going to silence the extremists.

    15 shots a half.

Football has moved on. We’re a decent side and I think we will get better

Winning while playing bad - Hallmark of champions

I love Matic. He's really the quiet, efficient professional, Serbian version of Carrick. Playing every minute of every game and doing his job.

As for this game, ugly win, might excuse given the cold conditions. But I wonder why we couldn't produce this machine like effective performance against Sevilla as well. Not too much to ask.

Played like we had two DMs and unsupporting full backs.

The quicker we can figure a system that allows Pogba to link our play without him ruining the balance of our midfield the better

Why play Fellaini? Giving playing time to a player that is leaving at the end of the season. Why not give minutes to someone else.

Two shots two goals will be spun into a good thing
