Mctominay is playing because they have scored 13 goals from set pieces in the PL. The most of any club in the league.

Without him and Weghorst we'd get battered at corners so logic dictates one has to play.

True. It just highlights how bad the squad is that we just can’t cope when we lose 2-3 players - yes they are the players we could least afford to lose but the drop off is horrific. Imagine we lost Rashford as well.

ETH has done a good job. It’s just a hell of a lot easier to do a good job when you have Case and Eriksen in your team,

Sancho can be anonymous, but he has quality that few moments can help creating. Having Rashford up front may not be ideal, but at least it much better with those run in behind than none from Weghorst too.

WW effort doesn't even guarantee that. We can get the effort part from other players like Antony, Sabitzer, Bruno to offset that already. Also, WW effort doesn't help us prevent goals.
