Why not at least try Fred next to Sabitzer. Mctomminay has been atrocious whenever he's played for us. Unless it's against Leeds.

Still better then Mctomminay & Sabitzer. And was in good form too until he suddenly got banished from the team.well at least EtH took my advice on the front 3. Think with injuries/suspensions only so much to do with the deeper midfield. Do wish we had seem some youth players get a chance in the midfield but is what it is. Martial obviously being eased back in.

When he does start, we ask why he IS getting starts.It looked to me that Weghorst was wincing and holding his thigh early in Sunday's game and when he came off, so maybe he is struggling with fitness now. It was certainly one of his least 'effective' games yet.Martial played a few minutes last game so now he's out for six more months?
Probably getting eased back inDisappointed to see McTominay in the lineup. Immediately lowers our chances of a good result. But at least no Weghorst bumps us up a few percentage points.

He can play Fred, he can play midfield 3. He seems stuck with idea of 4231 and there are serious questions if this works without Casemiro in the team. I also don't think either of McTominay and Sabitzer is in good form so I expect almost nothing of them.Didn't realise this is not on tv. So annoying!

Maybe you're right. There isn't a whole lot of height in the team. Perhaps that's why he's sticking with McTominay. Especially now that Wout is not there to tank around during defensive set pieces.Im glad he has dropped Wout Weghorst and put Rashford through the middle where he can be more effective.

Imo ETH starts McT because Brentford are good at set pieces. We already don't have many tall players. Usually when Casemiro plays he's very good in the air so Fred could play too. Then WW doesn't play today as well. It's all about balance imo.
We just need to get through these next two games, hopefully no losses, and then Casemiro will be back...

Fear that midfield will struggle.Feels like this will be the same old shitty 4-2-3-1 that benefits no-one. Would much rather see these players line up in a three-man midfield, Bruno right, Rashford left and Sancho central. Let their back three just be a waste and play around them.
At least you can stream and see something, versus seeing nothing like some of us
I've been asking for that front four since Sancho got back into the squad. It allows Weghorst to be what he was most likely loaned for, a Plan B option.
I know it's not ideal for Rashford, but it probably makes us a better attacking unit. Obviously we'll be crap tonight and that will be proof it doesn't work /s.Hoping ten Hag doesn't experiment too much with the midfield.

Just be glad they aren’t both playing.The only logic for McT starting is that ETH thinks he has no option - Fred not a CDM, Sabitzer neither.
