Midfield set up is dumb as feck. ETH is dumb as feck for continuing to do it.

Amrabat gets lots of the ball but to do so he drops between the CB'S, sometimes behind them, the other 2 push up super high, massive gap in the middle.

    It is dumb as feck.
    Nail, meet head.

Put Dominic fecking Solanke up top for us and we are wining this easily. Hojlund has to come on, give their centre-backs at least something to think about. Martial is weak as piss and offers nothing.

Has Mctominay made a forward pass?

General play has been good but still lacking that killer instinct in the final 3rd. All of Bournemouth chances came from our mistakes.
Tighten up and a couple of smarter decisions in the final third and we should win this easily.

Even when Martial was good he didnt have that 'real striker' instinct. I dont think he is too lazy to get into the positions but he just lacks that anticipation to get in the position.

Yep. He lacks striker instinct, because he a no. 11 not a no. 9.

I know McTominay has been scoring recently but god he's a liability on midfield

I will blame Erik if we lose, Martial? Are you kidding me? He is life support striker who barely create or score. McTominay who constantly gives the ball away over and over again then Bruno, always playing miscue dangerous pass in defence. Erik is a blind stubborn old man, he will be replace soon enough.

Turns out Chelsea are just even more shite than we thought?

Antony is pure garbage. His dribbling never leads to anything as he too slow to get past the fullback.

Much rather see Joe Hugill given a chance than waste valuable match time with Martial disgrace himself and the club.

I end up being excited for a United game again and we end up being lucky not to be 3-0 down going into half time.

I hate our wide play. We have no full backs or wingers capable of beating their man consistently but, whoever has it out wide, is left alone whilst we get into the box. It doesn't work. A few players need to come short and offer some passing triangles instead.

Antony and Garnacho have been very poor and Bruno's link-up play is just below par.

I'm sick to death of watching this midfield structure. The gap between Amrabat, McTominay and Bruno is ridiculous.

We give the ball away so needlessly as we're forced to push through the lines with long balls and daft passes.

    that’s on the manager

Mainoo really should have started this game, as he's probably not likely to start against Bayern and Liverpool. Between Amrabat and McT there is no semblance of control. Both just shit the bed when pressed.

It's annoying that we really need Shaw at LCB and also at LB. Can't fault Reguilon's effort but his decision making is poor.

Martial is just pointless. He's never where a centre forward should be. I'm not sold on Hojlund, but at least he's occupying the centre backs and making the right runs. When we are looking to play the ball into the box, Martial is nowhere to be seen.

MCT is such a nothing CM. He's only in the team because of his goal threat, but he makes us so poor on the ball. My favourite was when the ball ran across the midfield behind him, and he just stood there and pointed for someone else to get to it. Almost leading to Bournemouth getting the ball, but dalot nipped in . His mentality is fecking dire and he's clearly not comfortable anywhere around the midfield line. The number of times this game, i've watched him do a curving run to take him around a bournemouth player when out of possession, away from the ball effectively cutting off any passing lane to him because he doesn't want the ball. He's hiding and i hate him for it.

Martial - why he's anywhere near the team is a mystery to me.

Maguire - holy shit. Captain-esque performance from him. Can't slate him at all.

McT has been shit, but that was a hospital ball played into him for their goal, he has no chance.

If he scans properly while the ball is in the air, the Bournemouth midfielder doesn't get there ahead of him. Literally just needed to take a couple of steps forward and take the ball on his chest.

Im not looking for any opportunity to moan and criticize, just enjoying the game. I highly recommend it.

Don't be such a sap. If you enjoy losing at home to Bournemouth while butchering any decent possession we have, good luck to you but the bar is on the floor.

I had that idea a few times too  I dont disagree, McT shouldnt be touching the ball when he isnt kicking it into the goal.
Yeah. He should be just a striker instead of Martial. He might be more useful there.

We've been terrible in the final third today, we started the game quite well in general, good tempo, working the ball out from the back well for the most part and getting into good positions but then we continually let ourselves with a poor pass or sloppy touch in the final third and didn't create enough when we were on top. Then the energy levels dipped around the half hour mark and they started finding more gaps on the counter and we still weren't creating anything so it just boosted their confidence and made our mistakes a lot more costly.

We have to do something to create attacking momentum in the second half, it's too easy for them at the moment and we have to get some doubt in their minds so that when they (hopefully) start to tire we can really build that pressure and break them. It's going to take some composure and quality from our attackers which they haven't had in this game so far.

I said at the game on Wednesday, McTs 2-3 goals a month ago where great points wise but have somehow made him a shoe in for the first XI and we might have been better off without them

To be fair though Casemiro and Mount have been injured. Amrabat was playing poorly and Mainoo was only just back from a long injury. We literally had no choice but to play him.

I would keep McTominay on the second half, because he is this season's club top scorer.
I would put Hojlund on for Martial, but for this to work, Garnacho and Antony really need to improve in the second half.

Antony has been good. The other Anthony has been ****; Scott not showing anything besides his previous goals. We might still win with subs or a rocket up their arses

Martial must have dirt on the club. Cant think of anything else. I’m genuinely better than him

Antony is pure garbage. His dribbling never leads to anything as he too slow to get past the fullback.
Feels like he has two modes - dribble mode or pass/shoot mode. He can’t get his head up to do both at the same time, so nothing ever comes of when he does take someone on.

It's always the midfield, always. Manager after manager we never seem to recognise that we need some fecking control in midfield instead of this suicide ball we always seem to go for.

Someone needs to slow us down, because everyone else plays at 100mph and it leads to nothing but chaos, especially against an organised team like Bournemouth.
Not when half the time he slows down we should be breaking fast. I’m not saying it’s all his fault as Dalot needs to be overlapping more, but the lad doesn’t have the pace or physicality to affect the game.

There's an agenda against Antony at times. He was one of our better players after Maguire and he at least brought some defensive work.

The ease with which these players lose their composure and start sulking and stop playing as a team. The manager will pay with his job but they did the same thing to the previous manager. The dressing room is beyond broken and has needed some addition by subtraction for a long time. Doesn’t help that 75% the crowd only makes noise when they feel they’re sufficiently entertained either.
