It's the wet pitch speed boost.We're struggling just getting the ball out of the back. I can't believe this was our first XI backline. It's not like Bournemouth are even pressing that good.
Did either of them play a vertical pass to break the lines down? I can’t remember one. We miss that with no Licha or Varane.

It felt like the entire first 20 minutes was Maguire and Lindelöf passing the ball sideways to each other on the halfway line.
DvB not good enough and Eriksen's form has dropped from the start of the year?This is why Licha is so important. He's got to pace increasing passes between the lines which set up our midfielders or attackers to push forward after getting them in dangerous positions.
Maguire and Lindelolf have been too slow on the ball, indecisive and only passing sideways between them.The good news is that we're in control, and it never felt that we're under any threat. Need to do more up front though, not much was created and most of our forwards were invisible.Attack wise we have been very poor. Lots of the ball but not dangerous with it.
Hopefully garnacho on might help with that.
Bruno should be fined 25k for every flick he tries. We will either save a fortune every week or we'll see a better player.Feels like a game where we're doing the bare minimum to win. We've played too slow for my liking but that was to be expected with our second choice CB pairing. They haven't had much to defend apart from some shaky self inflicted moments. Which is why they are second choice.
Feel really sorry for VdB. He's had rotten luck in this club and it hasn't gotten any better today. Hope the damage isn't severe.
Casemiro again our best player. Every time I watch him play I lament the years we wasted without a proper DM in the team. The rest of the team has been fine, Bruno is having one of those 'no flicks will work' games but tbf, he never looks ok playing on the RW. Now that Garnacho is on, I want to see more cohesion in our play with all three midfielders playing in their proper positions. Until we get that second goal, the game will always have that sense of nervousness. Hope we kill it off soon.
And central defense leaves space behind both fullbacks for some strange reason. Varane, Licha and Shaw keep the line fairly straight when these two basically force a low block or a 2-2-2-3-1.
That's what happens when you start two defenders like Lindelof and Maguire and have 3 playmakers on the pitch who can't carry the ball forward.
Again, it's 1-0 and we haven't really been in danger and could well have been 2 goals to the good. At no point did I feel like we'd fall behind and still don't see it.
Hardly a bad performance. We've been sloppy with Bruno and Maguire at times sure, but cmon, not sure how you can genuinely believe it's a bad/rubbish performance.

pretty much controlled the game in 2nd gear.
ETH will demand more for 2nd half. Nice goal from CassAnyway, I enjoyed that first half. Never felt like we were in any real danger, and had some good pace to the game. Particularly pleased with Casemiro.
Hopefully we gel a bit more second half and put the game to bed and rotate if possible. Wouldn't want to go 1-0 all game.
No one is really having a bad game per se. It's just they are showing a blatant lack of quality going forward. Recycling possession has been the poorest it has been all season. They are showing why they are the bench.
The less we talk about him, means he hasn't shat the bed, so that's good.

Controlled the game only because the back 4 keep passing to each other and the rest of the team stays static. It has been a poor performance. We are waiting to draw them out and a couple of times, Maguire and Lindeloff had tense moments under pressing pressure.Huh?
