    Wout, Fred, Sancho have to come off at half time.
    Not getting the ball to Rashford, losing the midfield battle. Let's go at them with pace in the 2nd half. Might be worth it swapping out our right side, putting in Dalot, moving Bruno central, bringing on Antony.

    Everything else the ref has let go from both sides. It was a bad foul from Bruno. United will need to play better in the second and as the first minutes showed, are certainly capable of it.

    Doesn't help that the ref is a cnut. It may have been a penalty but I can guarantee we won't be given one of those any time soon. also missed some obvious fouls in crucial positions. who is he and why isn't he refereeing in the local park?

    No the problem is the referee is giving them everything. We've not been great but clearly now there is no way we can get anywhere near to them on the ball for fear of them diving like fannies. Honestly we are all gonna be pissed off in the next hour.
     
    We've been shite but that pathetic penalty has completely set the tone of the tie. Barca super comfortable, just taking their time with everything. We're just trying to rush everything, can't even do the basics. Really disappointing so far.
     
    Weghorst really not working up top. Sub him for Garnacho with rashford through the middle.

    Really poor performance and hate to say this with Sunday round the corner, we look leggy/tired
     
    Every time Sancho seems to take a step forward he then takes a massive step backwards. Hard to keep defending him.
     
    Yeah really need Weghorst and Wan Bissaka off for Antony and Dalot. Started off alright, soft as feck pen and then they've just kept the ball better without creating. We just need more care on the ball and more goal threat
     
    Only 1 goal down and it’s not like Barca is creating so many chances (neither are you tbf). Think if you equalize, the boost will help you win it as Barca is rather fragile mentally in Europe.

    Ref sucks though so he might influence it again…

    And why is he playing central with weghorst playing striker.

    We struggle whenever weghorst plays striker.

    We started great but the penalty has lifted them and deflated us.

    Bruno simply has to take that chance in a game like this. Totally different game then.

    I think Rashford's lack of tracking has hurt us defensively too. Kounde is getting forward and doubling up on Shaw with Raphina.
     
    Been watching so couldn't post, but that is a fecking soft penalty, same thing with sociedad.

    Rashford not in the game currently, our shape needs to change, bring on Antony for Weghorst for me.
     
    Annoying that we conceded from such a stupid and needless moment.

    That being said we've been very much second best all over the field since then. Hopefully ETH can get them motivated for the second half
     
    Reading through this thread has been painful, if you think that was a penalty you're absolutely mental or a WUM. Most of the time that's not even given as a freekick.

    Garnacho for Sancho on the 60th if he doesn't improve in the second half.

    Rashford isn't in the game much at all unfortunately.

    Don't know why the commentators are saying they're on top. They've done feck all. We actually looked more like scoring than them, even when we've not been great

    I'd get Garnacho on for Weg, Rashford at 9. My guess is ETH won't do that immediately but may switch Weg and Rashford. I actually feel sorry for Weg: he works so hard but I'm as likely to score as he is

    Credit where it's due: Barca have managed to totally boss us here. Even without the entirely-predictably-soft-penalty, they've been the better team.

    They're keeping us at arms length, not letting dangerous players get on the ball and we're playing like a team shaken.

    All that said, between AWB, Fred and Weghorst - we have to carry a lot players that aren't good at passing. Then you add Bruno and Sancho being a bit off...we can't keep the ball at all. It's kind of embarassing.

    Agree. Barcelona been miles better after the goal and, overall, they deserve the lead. But you should not defend a stupid decision from the referee like that. That’s just utterly insane. He got that one wrong and has been very, very poor today. My honest opinion mate.

    There's actually people that think that Weghorst brings something to the team. You could have me out there and you'd have the same result.
     
    We looked fine up until the goal, it really knocked the wind out of us and we’ve looked out of sorts since.
     
    Outplayed, but also this match has been stolen from us by VAR. Absolutely bonkers that didn't get overturned.

    Honestly, pack it in. Take Varane, Casemiro, Bruno, and Rashford off to save them for Sunday.

    Last thing we need is to score one goal and send this match to an extra 30min today.
     
    The pen decision was farcical but we let it get to us clearly. We regressed and Barca got better. You have to react at this level. Look at how Real Madrid reacted the other night, that's what you have to do. None of this head dropping shit. Get your head in the game.
     
    Sloppy first half. I've heard people complain about the penalty but I don't know why. It was stupid. Why did Bruno grab his arm like that? He's going away from goal. The only thing that I will say is that if it was at the other end it probably wouldn't be called, but definitely a penalty
