Probably batter then with this team and then get battered in the PL fixture.

Play the stand ins and kids - and give others a chance to try something new.

    Hendo

    Telles
    Varane
    Lindelof (if fit)
    Dalot

    Donny
    Fred
McT (actually think this 3 would be great)

    Elanga
    Mason
    Amad

No chance in the world he does anything like this

Still no goal from a corner with the headers we have in the team. That's shocking and embarrassing. You have to question the delivery and what they are doing in training. No way they can be this bad.

What training? All they have to do is kick a ball thats stationary. If they can't even manage that well then they should not be footballers.

I'd give Henderson a run out. People forget that United getting 2nd last season was having that man in the team

people say De Gea is a fantastic shot stopper which he is.. but Henderson sweeps the box more and probably helps us build from the back better, to set up attacks. A goalie can have a massive impact on a teams cohesion and attacking play.

at this point United need to try anything to make the team better. Yes even dropping De Gea.

This squad full of bluffers deserves nothing less than an early exit. They won’t win anyways as Villa will out work us at home.

I genuinely feel we could use a aftv like channel right now, at least get some entertainment out of it all.

Please lets go back to basics and drop the real underperformers like Harry & Rashford

    DDG
    Dalot Varane Lindelof* Shaw
    VDB Fred Fernandes**
    Greenwood Ronaldo Sancho

    *If not fit then Jones
** Fernandes told he is a midfield, not a false 9 and needs to hold his position for sake of the team

People don't forget his positioning was awful and made some very suspect mistakes.

De Gea has been our best player this season, saving us numberous times. Having a keeper be slightly better at sweeping isn't worth the downside.

    What I'd like to see

    VDS
    Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
    Carrick - Scholes
    Ronaldo - Rooney - Giggs
    Tevez

    What we'll probably see

    De Gea
    Dalot - Varane - Lindelof - Shaw
    McTominay - Fred
    Greenwood - Bruno
    Rashford - Ronaldo

You just know that smug Scouse scummer "Stevie G" will be kissing the camera at some point during the match repeating what he did when he scored against United.. Absolutely nailed on to happen isn't it. BBC will love it.

cue the media headlines "Stevie G Kisses Goodbye to United's Top 4 Hopes!":nervous:

the only reason the BBC are showing it is because they know Aston Villa are winning. It's all scripted like WWE  I was going to say the BBC sense an upset but would an in-form Aston Villa side beating relegation form Manchester United be a shock anymore!? I think it'll be more of a shock/upset if United won to be honest.. Standards are on the floor they can't get any lower.. these types of teams beating United are no longer newsworthy as it happens so often now.. which is sad but that's where we are.. only the players and Rangnick can change that

This sounds as deluded as what's frequently written at RAWK or bluemoon.

It's just laughable how many people don't include Maguire in their first XIs and then are all over the other threads moaning about attitude and commitment.

Funny because the players who have shown attitude and commitment are generally the one's that get all the stick. We finished 2nd last season with Maguire, Shaw, AWB, Fred, McTominay etc...didn't see any problems off the pitch either.

The new "flavours of the month" i.e. Varane Ronaldo, van de Beek, Bailly, Sancho etc...get away largely unscathed...what have any of them done for the club in the last ten years? Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo come in and we have looked absolutely dreadful.

good opportunity to rotate, mix things up style wise. Will we? probably not.

Sad to say I think they're gonna run us off the pitch. We are in a state right now.

This is a FA Cup match, so has nothing to do with a top 4 place.

Well yeah, the new additions seem to have not improved us this season but as they haven't been here that long what could they do for us over the past 10 years?

Maguire has been mostly average during his time at UTD, so have Fred & McTominay, that's a big reason why we haven't been better than Chelsea, Liverpool & City over the past 7 years, long before those "flavours of the month" came to UTD.

Varane has barely played. So leave our most handsome player out of it.

Maguire has been putting in stinker after stinker. His confidence is on the floor. Lindelof has massively outperformed him this season.

Maguire would lose a one on one to a snail at this point.

I'm strictly speaking performances, not attitude or commitment.

Maguire has looked horrible this season (I think he's decent generally fwiw), but I also think what he thinks he is on the ball isn't anywhere close to what he actually is on the ball and that hurts us. I prefer a CB performance like what Varane and Jones gave us vs Wolves, even if we lost. Do your stuff, solid on the ball but not trying to overcomplicate things or trying to be deep playmakers despite mediocre playmaking ability (which Maguire is doing way too much). Besides, for me, it's Varane +1.

Same as McTominay. He doesn't get the juices flowing, but can anyone attest him a lack of attitude? Can anyone Imagine McT or Maguire being ringleaders in this whole circus?

Probably won't watch to be honest. No interest in seeing these dossers get out-fought and Gerrard celebrating wildly.

It's crazy, it is so long till the game and I wouldnt be surprised if our team goes up and has no clue what to do the first half and maybe the entire match.

It is crazy that this happens so often at United, team playing with no plan on how to win the match.

Difficult to not see Villa and Slippy G completely revved up for this, he's an intense manager anyway but the chance to dump us out the cup will be huge.

They've already beaten us at OT under the old manager without much fuss. Unless they prioritize the league and we get a reaction, maybe we could end up winning but our performances against Newcastle and Wolves were truly awful, any more of that and they'll be beat us again easily. Not looking forward to seeing Gerrard jumping around OT giving it the big one but it's what the players and board deserve at least. I dare say some of the fans too. Shaw eluded to the stick Jones has got, maybe you can say these are not true fans but they bring a lot of negativity and don't deserve a winning team.

Maybe it is just me, but it feels as if we’ve been here so many times already this season. Feels inevitable that United bounce back with a comeback win that papers over the cracks, before further disappointment against West Ham to follow.

Not sure you're aware but we play AV twice before WH.

Oh deep down I know I'll watch and I'll hate myself for it.
Same, I don't want to, and I genuinely don't think it matters who we pick until there are wholesale massive changes in this squad of bitches whiners and snakes, but like the fool I am ill still be watching.

This I would love to see.

    Jones
    Varane
    Shaw

    VDB
    Fred
    Bruno

    Sancho
    Greenwood
    Lingard

4-3-3. Plenty of fresh faces. But I know absolutely no chance of this team or system….
