just saw our bench, holy fecking christ, this will be over by half time

I'd love to see Mensah get on the field today. The lad looks quality.

Can't see anything other than a Comfortable win for Arsenal today, smalling was key to having any chance of getting something out of the game.

    Back four to struggle.
Rashford to get a reality check.
Lingard to continue stealing a living.
    Memphis to continue.

Hope to see Pereira, Januzaj and Mensah given game time.

Might we see Blind in LB and Rojo partnering Carrick? Least Schneiderlin is finally playing in one of the big clashes!

We are winning that game and like I've always said LVG is the best.

There is no middle ground with our line up, we are either going to pull off a 'shock' performence and win, or get pummled. No draw with this one, no routine win for Arsenal, it will be a pummeling or a shock win for us.

Our bench really is laughable. Take Adnan and the keeper out and they basically only have a handful of appearance between them. And even then Adnan isn't exactly experienced himself.
    Romero - 10 apps
    McNair - 25 apps
    Riley - 2 apps
    Fosu-Mensah - 0 apps
    Weir - 0 apps
    Januzaj - 60 apps
    Pereira - 11 apps

108 apps altogether, Januzaj alone taking up more than half of that. Amazing really.

This won't be a thrashing. Last I checked United's defensive record is pretty good at home and we're having problems scoring

If United can score first, we'll likely panic and push too many bodies forward and get done on the counter.

1-1 or 2-1 to United, we've dropped points to weaker sides than this United one this season.

Doubt it. Every time they've played together it's been Blind in the middle. Rojo is yet to play at CB this season, I think. In any case, it's a choice between having Blind against Welbeck or Walcott. Not ideal, either way.

I can only see Arsenal beating us 4-0 or maybe more, as poor a team as we've fielded, obviously more to do with injuries though, fecking injuries.

Arsenal are playing a stronger line-up against us than they did against Barcelona. This isn't going to be pretty.

Yep, and they are up against Carrick and Blind, the slowest CB pairing in the league. It does not bode well. I can see us losing 0-2 or 1-3.

    I predicted 3-1 to AFC.
Against Stoke, I said that I'd take a 1-0 loss before the game...which we ended up losing 2-0.
Against Arsenal, again, I'd take a 1-0 loss right now, simply because I think we are in for an absolute spanking.

I can see us attempting to go for a 0-0 score-line, but I just don't believe the team is capable of keeping a clean sheet.

We need a strong start. The last time it was over after about 15 mins. Glad Rojo is back in. As much as i enjoy watching youngsters get a chance, the lack of leadership on the pitch from our senior players could see a youngster destroyed today.

We are winning that game and like I've always said LVG is the best.

Get it right man! LVG is the greatest of all time. An intergalactic icon. There are statues of Van Gaal as far and wide as the planet BlipBlop. We only lose if he wants us to lose. It's all part of the "philosophy" ;)

Playing Carrick at CB is a bold but stupid move. We're obviously going to try and dominate the game but I'd have preferred Rojo at CB and Riley at LB.

I'll be interested to see how Memphis does.
He was MOTM in the last game, against weak opponents.
Lets see how he does against an EPL team.

You could say that about almost every decision LvG has made in his tenure here.

If Carrick had been in midfield as a three, I could see us trying to stifle them. Not sure Morgan and Ander can do that on their own.

LVG isn't one for learning from his mistakes, can you imagine carrick and blind as our CBs, two of our slowest players --against Welbeck and Alexis.....

    Jesus wept

I see LVG went with the good old "who needs central defenders when we have DDG" approach. :D

I can't remember the last time I was this pessimistic about a game of football.
