    Fair enough. I do agree they did feck all in the second half really, which is one of the most annoying things for me. I still do feel we gave away a lot of our attacking momentum by slowing our midfield down so radically though. It's fine that we disagree though, it's be fecking shit if we all thought the same thing.
     
    LVG still do not realize where United is lacking, players who can control and turn and not losse the ball.
    They lack players that are confident on the ball. Only a few of them are. Herrera is one of them. Mata is just too weak for the premier league. Whenever he faced teams who has bigger players, he tends to be pushed away. That's why Felliani is doing well as he is tough and cannot be pushed away easily.
    Smalling, Jones and even Evans are poor with ball control and should be moved to other positions or sold. Shaw is really over priced as he only has speed and not much skill in beating his opponents.
     
    Inexperience from DM after he dived. He should be benched for his own good now. Valencia and Jones did enough stupidity in Welbeck goal. Carrick wasnt fit as Herrera and he added nothing. Jones is as always a no brainer footballer. Januzaj never progressing and he is not our game changer type of a player, maybe Mata would have been better. Poor sub by LVG. No time for panic really, we need to pick our selves up and beat Spurs next game still finishing at top four is our biggest teophy to chase this year. Finger crossed.
     
    I've no issue with the style LVG likes to play and his philosophy. But we just dont have the quality back 4/5 to make it tick. Its been an issue all season. Its slow build up, teams come up against us and they know exactly how we're going to play. They pressure the defence and we make errors.

    If you've got a solid world class defence/midfield, works a treat. The players know how to deal with situations and have the quality to get past opposition. We havent had a solid defence since we started the season, they look nervy when passing it around back there, and anytime some pressure is applied it gets messy.

    At the moment we can dominate games with his style, but you watch anytime the opposition applies a bit of pressure from the front, its anything but calm/thoughtful passing.

    Clearly never played sport in your life have you? When you're leaning forward and running as fast as possible it's a much easier option to do that, all footballers do it.

    They couldn't have made any more cockups with Herrera on than they managed without him. The manager taking him off, if he isn't ill or injured has to take a lot of the blame for this. I wonder how Rooney is feeling. He must be sick to the stomach.

    Can you imagine if we lost to Spurs after this as well.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Yep, that's my thinking. I mean, we didn't make a good chance in the second half did we? Don't tell me that was just because Arsenal suddenly got better at defending.

    That's absolute bullshit and nonsense. It was a dive. He should have gone down outside the box, if at all.

    I was okay with the ref until he decided not to give Bellerin a second yellow and then decided to not show the same leniency the other way. I don't mind the ref being forgiven, but at least he should grant it to both sides.

    I don't agree with every point you make @darko, but I think you have stumbled on a critical point. Honestly, the ref, in the second half, seemed to be out to prove a point. I don't so much know about the booking for Januzaj, but the sending off of Di Maria was gratuitous. He didn't dive, and he didn't assault or interfere with the ref in a way that deserved censure. Will be interesting to see what United/The FA make of this in the cold light of day.

    What a shitter. Ref has had a shocker. Fair enough you can't put your hands on the ref but if he'd reffed the game evenly then things like that don't happen. Arse player dives on edge of box, free kick to arse, dm dives gets booked. II'm all for getting rid of diving but surely both teams have to have the same punishment. And why didn't he book that arse player shortly before he was subbed?

    I don't know why you are blaming Valencia for the first goal. Smailling was caught out and Valencia rightly took up his place at CB. Smalling is at fault because he decided to go and join the crowd. He should have taken the open man (Monreal). After that, Di Maria saw what happened and decided it wasn't worth the effort to mark Monreal and he was gifted a glorious chance to score.

    Pretty much deserved the loss after the HT changes (Shaw better be injured) Herrera for Carrick was kinda understandable but our rhythm just seemed all out after a delightfully refreshing first half showing that should be the model for our, now undisturbed, shot at 3rd place.

    I can even (sort of) understand Welbeck's celebration on reflection (although he's still a traitorous cnut he's not worth my ire) but what I really found hard to stomach was Danny "biased as feck" Murphy's smarmy, "I told you so" BBC comm! :mad:

    He could have easily sent Bellerin off with a second yellow. This ref had a crap game on Saturday between QPR and Spurs.

    Right so how can you say coming to a stop and turning around is easier in that situation? Players do it all the time, all over the pitch.

    I'm an idiot because I understand sport and you don't? Watch the footage again, Januzaj doesn't appeal for anything and is getting back up ready to get back in position.

    I'll try and explain this as best as I can.

    If you're running full pelt, throwing yourself to the ground at that velocity isn't the best way to stop. In fact, it's more likely to injure you. Also, it's stupid, and it expends more energy.

    Slowing down and coming to a stop is the natural and easiest thing to do. How you can't understand this, I just don't know. But whatever you were saying earlier is just plain wrong.
     
    Overly conservative subs at halftime, stupid continued reliance on a converted winger at RB, shit ref, and just a complete mental breakdown. Frustrating, annoying, and worrying

    Ok, so Valencia wasn't totally at fault for the first, but don't you think they exploited our right side all evening? We are weak in that position, weaker than in the middle and that's saying something when jones is on the pitch!
