He did it just to piss in your fecking cornflakes kid.

Yeah, I like the cornflakes angle you went with there. Letting them know the truth (Ronaldo's lack of pace and workrate is detremental to the team tactically) hurts way more.

    Casemiro a Murtough signing

what’s with all these types of posts?

Ten Hag already said Casemiro isn’t fully fit yet. It’s not a massive surprise he’s not starting. He’s also not used to playing under this manager so I’m sure there’s things he’s still figuring out in training.

Big test for the back four. First time they face a good team together.

Surprised to see people surprised about Casemiro. The earliest he will start for us is Leeds game at home and personally I don’t think he will start a league game before October anyway.

Antony came from Ajax, Ten Hag knows him very well so it’s a completely different case. I am surprised to see him start today but he was always going to become a first team player soon.

We'll see him at some point in the game for sure.

ETH deserves credit for rewarding Mctominay's consistent performances with an extended run in the team. It would have been quite tempting to throw Casemiro into the starting lineup the moment he arrived, 100% fit or otherwise.
I see ETH turning McT into a monster.

McT has been doing well, so there’s no reason to rush Casemiro in. Also Ronaldo has looked awful if we’re being honest.

"McT has played well" yeah well we're talking about Casemiro here. You don't bench a x5 Champions League winner, the best defensive midfielder in the world for Scott McTominay. If we lose the midfield battle here, Ten Hag only got himself to blame. We're lucky Arsenal's midfield is pretty shit too.

Keeping senior serial winners on the bench isn't exactly great man management either. I hope this isn't being done by ETH solely to prove he's the boss. And I rate McT by the way, so not a slight on him.

He is not trying to show authority or anything. It is the proper way of adjusting a new player to the team. It also makes no sense to break up a winning team who have built confidence.

Because Antony knows the system better than any player on the pitch except Martinez.

Also McTominay has played well in centre mid and the manager doesn't want an unsettled back 6. Elanga has been much worse than McTominay and Casemiro coming on around 60 minutes to add extra defensive support when we are winning has been working so far.

Exactly. I expected Casemiro to start ahead of Eriksen, but ETH obviously his ball playing skills more than the defensive solidity Casemiro and McTominay would provide together. ETH is ballsy, he doesn't want us to just counter attack he wants us to outplay Arsenal.

I’m surprised by ten Hag here. Hope it doesn’t backfire because he’ll have a lot to answer, this game is very very important.
whats the surprise really? casemiro is not fully fit and not totaly used to the system right now. same goes with ronnie. eth will know what he is doing

Got 10/11 as I thought Casemiro would be starting this one. At least he's seen sense with Elanga. Just hope Antony tears these feckers a new one.

Eriksen and Mctom looks a very vulnerable midfield against this particular version of Arsenal. Hopefully Ten Hag knows what he's doing.

Perhaps fitness, perhaps not messing yet with a working system, maybe not giving him his first start right in the heart of midfield in a new league in a game of this magnitude, could be a whole number of reasons. Pretty sure in time he'll be starting.
This system is working just like Ole's system worked when he took reign of United. Sure we got results but we all knew the performances meant that the team was soon going to see setbacks. We have got to use players who can give us more control of the match and make us better on the ball.

Good starting 11 although I’m surprised Casemiro isn’t starting

You would have all gone mental at Conte

He left all he new signings on the bench the first few games then gradually began to integrate them.

You guys have issues. Ten Hag said Casimero'd fitness levels are not peaked yet.

It’s much easier to replace Elanga who hasn’t done much at all compared to replacing McTominay who played really well last game. This football thing is not all about FM stats, crazy as it sounds.

Good starting 11 although I’m surprised Casemiro isn’t starting
fitness levels must be low as they seem happy throwing him on with 30 to go, just not to start

I think we’re gonna regret starting Eriksen over Casemiro.. I think we’re gonna need that extra steel in the middle of the pitch.

Happy Antony is starting though.. you spin me right round

Garnacho played for the youth team yesterday while Donny is Donny.
Fair point, but why not add a youth player there for match day experience (Savage, Zidane etc), I get there was a game yesterday, ETH can stop that. Feels like having two goalkeepers is a total waste but it's also the most minor issue out there.

There are people on here thought we would lose to Liverpool, that we wouldn't beat either Southampton or Leicester. It is a typical day on a matchday thread.

Think it has more to do with McT playing good enough recently to not throw in a semi adjusted Casemiro while Elanga's form justified doing just that with Antony
Yep. Ten hag literally said it's because mctominay has been playing really well. As much as we'd like Casemiro in... If a player is performing to a really high level, you can't really just bench them without a bad game. Sends a bad message. And an individual result isn't worth losing the overall message of "if you perform what I want from you, you will play".

Everybody here who has written off the game just because Casemiro is not starting, you can choose not to see the game today since you have decided we are going to lose.

If McT was playing badly the past 3 games, fair enough. But he has been playing quite well so it will send a wrong message to the dressing room that a performing player can still be dropped for a "star" player. It will just result in dressing room chaos. It is quite clear most of you don't understand how management works.

Arsenal play Ben White at right back these days?? Really hope we have a good go at them from the start. Will be key to a win here.
