The pre-emptive excuses have have started

If United go for a physical game plan (play hardball against the youngsters), Eriksen is the one to be dropped tomorrow.
Or we could play Eriksen as #10, drop Bruno and play a midfield of Casemiro-McTominay. Then Bruno can come on later when Eriksen is knackered.

They’re such babies about going to OT. Hung up on decisions 20 years ago when they’ve had more than their fair rub of the green at OT (Adebayor punching the ball into the net, Gallas punching the ball off the line, etc). Suppose when United were the reason they could never once retain a premier league title they will naturally be afraid of them.

I am still optimistic but I do think this game has come a little sooner than I would have preferred.
We are still a couple of weeks away from integrating the two big signings into team.
All the being said, it's still Arsenal and they still need to proof that they've lost the soft under belly.

Ramsdale and Odegaard were always game day decisions by all accounts

I presume they'll just drop Zinchenko into central midfield if Odegaard can't make it.

    Who's Arsenal backup keeper nowadays?

To beat them would be such a boost to the hard work and continue the momentum.

This is a HUGE game. Win this, and it's actually a pretty decent start to the season. And we're in the thick of the race. And we'll have the best momentum in the league. Lose it, and it all looks a bit flabby again.

The game frequency alone should dictate some changes to the lineup. Hoping and expecting to see Casemiro out there. And Antony would be nice too. And maybe it is time to give Ronaldo a start.

It’s going to be a draw.

If Odegaard doesn't play, we win. He's been the one tying their midfield and attack together.

Don't think Zinchenko is in the squad at all

Indeed, just seen Arteta quotes on previous page. It was said he was training this week but clearly not.

Guess they might bring Smith Rowe back in and have him, Saka and Martinelli as the three behind Jesus. Was what they were doing for most of last season anyway.

With how debut players sometimes have great games, i will be gutted if Antony doesnt start, especially if its Elanga over him.

I'd take a draw to be honest. I think we are capable of a win but 4 wins in a row, that sounds like tempting fate for us at the moment.

It’s going to be a tough game which I’m really struggling to call.

They’ve had a perfect record yeh but let’s not act like they’re demolishing everything put in front of them.

We are the first legitimate test they’ve had so it’ll be a good sign to see where they are right now.

What I will say is that they have a solid power of recovery, being pegged back vs Leicester and Villa only to immediately strike back. Plus going behind vs Fulham to go on to win.

Offensively, they look better. Defensively, over the last few games at least, we look better.

Teams with far less attempts on goal seem to still be dangerous and scoring against them, so it’ll come down to how clinical we are.

    If I had to decide, it’ll be a draw. 0 - 0 or 1 - 1.

They seem to have improve mentally, which has always been the weakness of many Arsenal teams when they face United. Let's hope the lads can tone it up as they did against Liverpool. Same intensity would allow us to score 2 goals. Not having Martial is really an issue but I can only hope that Rashford fights strong for the ball as he did and runs behind them a lot, while Antony might be able to dynamite his right side.

We will need energy everywhere on the park, as we have always played against Arsenal that way even under SAF. Let them feel that even if they have the ball, they will have to be challenged against every single ball and be countered strong.

I wonder if Ten Hag goes for an unchanged eleven for now and then introduces Antony, Casemiro and Ronaldo?

Or he goes with Casemiro and Antony from the get go to challenge them hard and see the game out with Scott and Fred and maybe Elanga upfront.

Or we could play Eriksen as #10, drop Bruno and play a midfield of Casemiro-McTominay. Then Bruno can come on later when Eriksen is knackered.
I think we need them both to control the ball in the midfield, especially when Bruno is focused and can link up with team mates.

This is not Arsenal of old, they play like a team now with a lot of spirit. Still, if we match their intensity and workrate, it should be an even game.

I fancy our chances on the counter attack. I think we will win.

They've genuinely looked good, a very young team with great work-rate and they've been outplaying most of the teams. Martinelli is the one to watch out for, he's relentless and going to be a handful for Dalot. If we want to get something, we're going to need to outwork them like we did Liverpool.
While Saka may be more highly regarded, I think Martinelli will end up being the bigger talent

I think we play without an out and out striker. Bruno and Eriksen both play, Rashford to the bench. Same team as last week but Casemiro in and Rashford out. We can change the shape with subs and go Rashford, Antony, Ronaldo in the last 20.

I don't know why but the fact that by tomorrow night we could be 3 points off the top with a negative goal difference greatly amuses me.

We'll mash these gooners. Eric at the wheel.... errrr... One Hag.... two Hag.... three Hag, four hag, five hag.......

They haven’t had a real test yet. Turn up and they’ll fold and go on one of those classic hideous Arsenal runs where they don’t score for 5 games and lose 3 of them.
    Let’s burst their bubble

Except sancho and rashford are puppies
Sancho it depends but Rashford, definitely not. When he decides to fight, he stays very strong and will impose a very physical battle, and not lose his balance even when strongly challenged. Remember how VVD couldn't budge him while trying really hard in some of his old game, or even his last Liverpool game where he went to fight for the ball to get free kicks at least.

If he can do that again, we're good. Sancho will probably benefit from it and score.

This. Their back four arent the speediest. Plus if their midfield is hollowed out then we can catch them on the break when they lose the ball.

Thats why I will start Rashford over Ronnie.

Same line up minus Eriksen for Casemiro imo. Will be a tight draw but who scores first gonna win. Huge match for Arsenal so the pressure is on them.

Rashford usually does well against the top teams hope he'll today. No Ronaldo please he is shit against any decent team. We'll need to run a lot today. Ffs Martial you need to get fit asap.
