I have a good feeling about this. 3-1 win. Because....it is Arsenal:)

About lineup; Fred should have started today

Past it Matic with McTominay & Pogba higher up is much better than Pogba in defensive midfield with Lingard ahead of him.

One has a chance of achieving something whilst the other is the same old tripe that we've seen fail every week. That is my reasoning. Don't you agree?
No. As I said, black and white. One can do no wrong and the other is in wrong whatever he does or says.

Why is Greenwood not in the XI? Pereira, Lingard and Rashford have done nothing and yet are consistently picked over him.

Until someone can actually justify why we bought Fred or what unique quality he brings (especially equivalent to how much we paid for him).

Its another signing Woodward made to spite city and feed his ego because he read on The Daily Mail Pep wanted him

I have a feeling Fred is very good if he's given clear instructions in a proper system. Sadly I don't think any of that exists.

They don't even play the same role for feck sake.

This place is an absolute shambles.

Enough for one night, enjoy the game.
If Ole is still playing Perreira at RW then we have more problems than I thought.

As i said 45min total in the league to every game isn't a slight exaggeration.

If we were a proper team and performing well no one would be arguing Greenwood should be starting today, it's about context. We're not and several players are underperforming so when you have a special player available even if he's a wildcard you go for it.

Hopefully Lingard or Periera have a scorcher but it'll be a surprise.

There are more than league games in the campaign. You think he should be starting, Solskjær doesn't. I'm sorry, but I trust the manager more than I do you, unless you are Fergie - then PM me, and I will bow to your superior knowledge.

I don't think I've felt like this before about a United team; I'm sat here ready for the game wanting/urging us to win but in my head I can't see a way that we control the game and outplay arsenal. Our team simply cannot construct any decent attacking play. We have pace in Rashford and James but they are both headless chickens. Pereira is average at everything. Pogba cannot get into a game when it's fast paced. Mctominay and Lingard surprisingly are the only two I feel can play some decent quick interchanging football and create something but that's also very unlikely to happen.

I struggle to envisage a way we win other than some very lucky goals on the counter or Arsenal completely capitulating.

I dunno, despite playing in a deeper role this season, Pogba always manages to create a chance or two for Rashford.

    But Rashford isn't finishing them.

Rashford looked much better when he first broke out than Greenwood has thus far. His all round game has been poor but should be expected for a 17 year old.

Unless he's playing as a striker then she shouldn't be playing at all.

No it hasn't, and Rashford scored big game goals when he first broke in but he didn't and still doesn't look as good of a footballer as Greenwood, and Arsenal are starting an 18 year old tonight, Greenwood is the only striker we have with any form, Rashford has been garbage for ages and should be on the bench.

Where is he supposed to play. Left in a 3 midfield. Oh I know I know, number 10!
I watch matches, ask about 15 people and I bet 14 of them would tell you Matić is past it. You live in a fantasy world. That's what hating Ole and adoring Pogba does.
Left in 433 with Matic as dmc and Fred as another midfielder. Or Fred on dmc and McT on mc.

We need to get more players in their penalty area.

One of the reason I do not like our 4231 formation is that the midfielders hardly join attack.

The front four can press but need to calm when opportunity comes. Andreas needs to pay Oles trust.

Let's hope for the best :)

No. As I said, black and white. One can do no wrong and the other is in wrong whatever he does or says.
Why am i so quick to judge i wonder? The manager choosing Lingard with his output to be our No.10 whilst we have our best player playing out of position in defensive midfield. It's not like this is the first time we have seen this setup fail is it? Why aren't we trying to change something that clearly isn't working?

Fred is an absolute mystery but one thing is certain and that is that he is not close to being worth the fee we paid. He can do a job injecting pace and energy into the midfield when we are on the front foot against lesser teams but it would currently be suicidal to play him against a dangerous attacking side like Arsenal. The one constant in his performances is that he seems to do something daft just outside his own penalty area once or twice a game and against this lot we would not get away with it.

Hope the lineup works this time. Maybe some of the players can apply it better but I would go with a 4-3-3.

Let's get clinical and smash these chumps.

I do have a feeling that we will be ok tonight...not a 100% sure, but I do feel ok (I think...).

I have concerns about players returning from injury though... will they last the game?

I have a feeling Fred is very good if he's given clear instructions in a proper system. Sadly I don't think any of that exists.

He's failed to impress two managers in his PL career to date, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that he simply isn't that good.

Very uninspiring team. The attacking section in particular. Really don't see where the goals will come from. Two non natural full backs playing as well... Lovely.

He didn't get proper chance this year. I agree that he didn't perform well last year, though

Come on United. Want the lads to play with pride at least for fecks sakes

Pogba isn't playing as a DM first of all. And number of times I heard a position excuse. Also changing Pogba position wouldn't change much. It's not like he played in the same position his whole career at United.

Greenwood has scored 2 key goals Vs Rochdale and Astana

Aside from that he has been extremely poor. Rashford is currently the much better option.

I think Greenwood will develop into a quality player - he ain't ready yet.

At least he has opinion, right or wrong.

And who doesn't? I think that's a terrible argument. If the opinion is that "I shall remain in disgust with anything" then perhaps you should just shut your trap. At least let the game begin before you start moaning and show some constructive criticism at least. Everyone can say - "he's sh*t" - is that an opinion that would excite you?

I wasn't arguing that Fred should play out wide. I was suggesting Fred should be in a midfield 3 with Pogba and Mctominay and then Lingard would play on the right and Pereira would be on the bench. Although neither of Lingard or Pereira should be playing on the wing in the first place.

    I agree with that.

Edit: I still believe that Pereira could raise his game to become a very good player there. I know it's hard to back that up at the moment though.

Wow 23 away games in a row without a win against the 'big six" for Arsenal.

Pinning my hopes on David Luiz. He is the key man for us tonight, hopefully sloppy pass across the face of his own goal to let in James for a goal and then he can give away a daft penalty trying to overcompensate.

You don't have to trust the manager or anyone else, but by just watching United play it's obvious to see which players have earned their spot and those that haven't.
