Didn't know that. Thanks a lot.Why does the mad fecker (Mourinho) still live in the hotel? Surely he can use a couple of week's wages and buy a plush apartment in the centre of the city, if he doesn't fancy a whole house to himself?Perhaps he is waiting to see if his contract is terminated in May before committing.
I also hear his wife and kids prefer London for the kids education.
His family are still in London and he travels down there frequently. Probably doesn't want to commit to something like an apartment when the hotel lifestyle suits him.If you can afford it, a fancy hotel in the City Centre, being waited on hand-and-foot, would be a fantastic way to live.
It's no place to raise a family, obviously. But if you're on your own, it's the closest you'll get to living with people you can bond with to a certain extent. Plus, all the luxury and convenience that comes with that.

Yeah I wasn't suggesting he moves the family or anything, that's why I said flat and not house. He could probably buy a posh flat for a mil and just sell it when he leaves. Any (unlikely) loss of value is not going to compare to the cost of a suite at the Lowry for a whole year and he gets to have his own pad instead of living like Alan Partridge.

Worked in Mumbai for three months and my company put me up in a 5 star hotel. Last couple of few weeks were depressing after enjoying it initially.
I was about to say. However good the hotel, it gets stale pretty quickly. 3 months is 2 months too long for me. I'd go stir crazy after nearly a year, like Mourinho's done.

If your flat is in the city centre you just pop out to restaurants or get food brought to you, like he surely does at the hotel.
Any posh building block has concierge service which means no press get through anyway. There's no difference there.

He's probably made friends, enjoys the proximity to the City Centre and transport links, and the fact he has a decent restaurant on his doorstep (which I'm sure caters to his every whim). I'd much prefer that to living in an empty house in the suburbs.
He's probably too busy to leave his chalkboard and analysing video cassettes to go out to eat.
