    Romero
    Darmian-Bailly-Rojo-Shaw
    Lingard-Fellaini-Pogba
    Miki-Zlatan-Rashford

Subs: De Gea, TFM, Valencia, Carrick, Martial, Herrera, Young.

I would like to rest all our runners from the Chelsea game, who are, Herrera, Rashford, and Lingard. Think it is incredibly hard to maintain the same level of energy in a match which is taking place just a few days after the previous one.

But, we dont' have any option on the right so, unfortunately, Lingard may have to play.

Don't think Fellaini will be able to repeat that excellent performance in this match, due to fatigue and also because here the opposition will be sitting back.

Herrera and Rashford ran a lot on Sunday and they could be very lethargic and may misplace passes and tackles, so I think it will be a good idea to keep them on the bench.

    So, we have:

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailey Rojo Blind/Shaw
    Carrick Pogba
    Lingard Mikhi Martial
    Zlatan

Ideally, I hope Rooney is fit, so that we can play,

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailey Rojo Blind/Shaw
    Carrick Pogba
    Mikhi Rooney Martial
    Zlatan

That way, we have a fresh set of players, ready to give their fullest. Obviously, with the above formation, Rooney, Carrick and Martial may not be able to influence the game satisfactorily, so, could bring on Herrera and Rashford after half time.

Should be using our squad for this, Mkhi,Ibra and Martial had a complete rest so they should be our attack for this match.

Would probably start Lingard too as he got subbed early, swap him with Rashford later on.

Pogba/Herrera midfield, Shaw over Darmian in defence but the usual 3 apart from that.

We should be beating this lot comfortably if we play with the same energy.

    DDG

    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw/Blind

    Carrick Pogba

    Lingard Mkhi Martial

    Ibra

Fairly confident this is going to be the team.

    -----------Romero--------

    Valencia-Bailly-Rojo-Darmian

    --------Fellaini--Herrera-----

    ------------Pogba-------------

    --Lingard---Zlatan--Rashford

    Prediction: 3-0 Zlatan hattrick

A lot of the predictions have missed Young, who's been quite reliable in recent games. Darmian also can't be overlooked.
I don't think Anderlecht will sit back as the score actually is in our favor, so they will look to our goal regularly. Tactics that were used vs Chelsea were good vs Chelsea, so I don't see us implementing same approach. If Mourinho had belief to use a two man midfield away at Anderlecht, he would probably utilize the same system.
Quite possible to see a line-up pretty close to the one that we used in the first game. Pogba partnered with Carrick, Zlatan and Mikhi leading the front line. Lingard would feature - I think that was the reason of his early withdrawal in the Chelsea game. Remaining question mark is to the entire left wing. Darmian played 90 minutes both last Thursday and Sunday, Rashford too played for the bigger parts of those games. I think Young will be deployed on the left wing and either Darmian or Blind could be used as a left back. I can't see Shaw starting, however you never know - Young starting right back and Shaw playing more advanced role, while Valencia is rested. But TonyV has the ability to play many games back to back, so I don't see him rested. I think will come out with:

    ....................Romero............
    Valencia...Bailly...Rojo...Darmian/Blind
    ..........Carrick..........Pogba.......
    Lingard...........Mkhi...........Young
    ....................Zlatan...................

I think Herrera could sit down as he's on a yellow.
Oh well, who knows what's in Mourinho's head. All I hope is we beat them 2-3:0

I too expect the same squad, its unfortunate that Bailly/Rojo/Valencia have to play after short rest.

    Surely Martial won't start?
If he's training alright and has a positive attitude, he could have a chance to start, in my opinion.

"Do I think Anthony is a player with great potential? Yes. Do I think he can play successfully for me? Yes. But he needs to give me things that I like very much."

Who says the Europa League don't matter, I'm shitting it for tomorrow :nervous:

We're getting close now. Feels like ages since we've had a European tie with some actual tension.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Darmian
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhi
    Lingard Ibra Rashford

based on last game's performances no way fellaini, herrera, darmian, lingard and rashford deserve to be dropped. however i think rashford has started the last 2 games and might get a breather here.

    think it will be
    ------------------------------romero--------------------------
    valencia------------bailly--------------rojo----------darmian
    ---------------herrera---------fellaini---------pogba---------
    ------micki-----------------zlatan----------------lingard---

Feel harsh dropping Lingard but Mkhitaryan has shown good form in Europa. Should be a good enough team to control the tie.

    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Darmian
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhitaryan Ibrahimović Rashford

If we play Valencia tonight, Young will not play as a left back. Maybe Mourinho can surprise us and plays Ash a a left winger, in order to get a bit of balance and an actual attacking player down the left, but I doubt. I think that with Valencia, Young, Darmian, Shaw and Blind we do have the choice to rotate until the end of the season.

So tonight, let's hope that our supposed big guns (Ibra) do the job.

I know that the Europa League is our main priority, but on Sunday we'll have a tough tough game a Burnley and we'll play City next Thursday so, we'll probably need to rest one or two against Burnley in order to give them a week off before a defining moment against City.

    I'd pick....
    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhitaryan Ibrahimović Rashford
every one of these games I'm half expecting a Romero disaster.....hope I continue to be wrong - think we would control the game with this team.

Given how poor Anderlecht were at times I'd love to see Rashford play a bit more centrally, freely on their CBs - I suppose the Belgians might defend deep and try and catch us on break though

    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhitaryan
    Ibrahimović Rashford

I think that would be a mistake playing with no winger tonight. Their two full backs, especially the left back is a very attacking one and since Valencia is not the safest player defensively I would say that we need to control their width.

But I'd rather have a 4-2-3-1, maybe with Ibra behind Rashford, but tbh that would be a gamble

Yeah thats why I'd go with the first team - I just hate the idea of constantly accommodating Ibra and playing Rashford out of position - we could maybe go with a 4-4-2 then of

    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Shaw
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhitaryan-------------Martial
    Ibrahimović Rashford
now that is a team that will score goals - You would need Pogba to play with some discipline to help out Herrera

We tried to play a flat 4-4-2 at Leicester and it was a disaster at the beginning of the game.

I really think that it'll be Ibra upfront and Rashford left. He made so many differences there last week and worked so well in his flank that I'm sure with his confidence back he may do damage.

I'm actually feeling surprisingly nervous about this one. Up until now I haven't cared much about Europa or just felt completely confident we will win in 2nd gear.

I can see them scoring first tonight and it making us play incredibly cagey football.

I was hoping we could start this cautiously in a Carrick 4-3-3, but one that would allow us to feature two attacking fullbacks simultaneously, Valencia and Shaw.

Weirdly I have more faith in us if we play a 352. Really eager to see Ibra and Rashford as partners up top.

Not nervous at all. I don't expect them to score in this game. We'll be the one who complicate things as usual and keeping it 0-0 wasting millions of chances till we score a scrappy goal much like Rostov match.

If we scored early it will end with 3-0 or 4-1 but you know our attack....

Hoping for our strongest 11. Be nice to kill the game off 2-0 by the 60th the sub off Herrera, Pogba and Ibrah.

Come on. These are the players who never get subbed off. Have you not been watching any football this season?

If we play Valencia tonight, Young will not play as a left back. Maybe Mourinho can surprise us and plays Ash a a left winger, in order to get a bit of balance and an actual attacking player down the left, but I doubt. ----------------------------Pogba--------Herrera-----------------------------
    Lingard-------------------------Mkhitaryan-------------------------Rashford
    -------------------------------------Ibra---------------------------------------

Keeping that in mind I hope we don't drag the game as we did versus Rostov. I remember Mourinho saying he went for such a system so he can reduce the work rate for some players. I know we won't come out guns blazing, but at least have a more gutsy approach instead of playing for 0:0 or 1:0.

I'm going for 3-1 to United.

I'd say this is the first game of the Europa League that I'm genuinely excited for, hope the boys show up and put in a good display.

Convinced that Romero, Valencia, Bailly, Rojo, Pogba, Mkhitaryan and Ibrahimovic start. The rest are up for debate. José will want to have at least one of Herrera / Carrick / Fellaini fully fresh for Burnley IMO, but we can't afford to tinker too much as not getting through this tie and failing to beat Burnley is practically season over for us. We're on a knife-edge right now, but should be full of confidence after the Chelsea result.

From the Presser, it doesn't sound as if he's convinced with Martial still. He's probably more likely to return Rooney to the bench before him, which is a bit disappointing as I'd like Martial to get some game time to rest Rashford a bit. Lingard will probably start considering he was subbed off earliest, so it's down to whether we play 433 or 4231. Perhaps Herrera and Pogba as a two should be the play tonight, then Carrick/Pogba/Fellaini against Burnley (with Herrera returning against City).

Just hope we get an early goal and put it to bed as soon as possible.

Biggest game of our season by some distance. I'm nervous.
