I reckon starting a few more youngsters would win us this game. When they play they actually care about the game, they give their all in attack and in defence. Kompany is out (I think?), if we played Pereira we would really expose them, given that they actually attack. I still think Blind needs resting, and it'd be good to have CBJ in the mix, we have actually missed his crossing.

Pretty sure Pereira doesnt even train with the first team these days, based on photos of training as well as the fact he hasnt even been on the bench since Arsenal. Philosophy

It is a derby and I should be fired up to watch this but I feel hollow. I have already accepted defeat, just hope it won't be too embarrassing. I know it's a pussy attitude but it is honestly how I currently feel.

    De Gea
    Valencia--Smalling--Blind--Rojo
    Schneiderlin--Schweinsteiger
    Lingard--Mata--Martial
    Rashford

subs: Romero, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Carrick, Fellaini, Januzaj, Memphis.

It means nothing for both of us other than bragging rights for a short period of time. We didn't make the most of our win last season. Come the end of this season both fan-bases will conclude that it's been a disaster.

I felt like this under Moyes when they came to OT. Though there was one motivation, dent their title hopes. In the end fate ordained those three points we gifted them stopped Liverpool winning it.

0-0 bore fest with terrible performances from most bar De Gea and Martial

A list centre midfield in please.

If fellaini and Carrick start this it'll be madness.

    Confirmed United squad members:
De Gea, Romero, Darmian, Valencia, Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Mata, Januzaj, Lingard, Memphis, Martial, Rashford

    No Ander :(

(This is the same source that fecked everyone with Blind in our lineup predictions but he's not in the pictures)

I've tried to scale back my Herrera fanaticism, but I still worry about the state of our midfield without him.

If we win we might sneak 4th, if not season is over in March

Basically it's gonna be a shit team selection which combined with the usual shit tactics and shit substitutions will lead to the inevitable shit performance which will lead to the expected shit result. I can't wait.

What you talking about it might mean the difference between CL or EL for both of us, admittedly less so you guys but still.

With Herrera seemingly out I would love to see LvG try Memphis central off Rashford or even give Januzaj the #10 role, rather than just plodding on with Mata who has been poor the last few games.

    1. Either will be a slaughter, with City destroying us or, will be a drab 0-0 with both sides afraid to lose.
    2. Thread title for this should be renamed as "Manchester City vs De Gea"

If we beat them we're 1 pt behind 4th so nah I think there is quite a bit riding on it.

Anything but a win here shouldn't be accepted. We're shit but I honestly think City are worse, especially against 'top' teams.

I'm usually negative towards big games (and rightfully so) but I'm going with a 3-1 here.

Yeah, when we played them under Moyes, Arsenal were 11 points ahead in fourth with eight games to go.

With West Ham drawing we can go level on points with them and one point behind City with eight games to go. Just a shame Arsenal found it so easy against Everton. With Arsenal's remaining fixtures they should be fine now.

Yeah. I know we're not a good team but City haven't won back to back Premier League games since October! That is incredible.

The fact that City haven't been great for a long time gives me a little hope. Arsenal, Spurs & Leicester's spots are sealed in the top four but if we beat City then we'll be in a race for that 4th spot.

I'd also like to try someone else on the right wing, and from that squad that would be Januzaj. It's a bit absurd that a team like United don't have an established high quality right winger ... I mean, there just isn't one in the entire club. So right now the position is up for grabs, and why not give Januzaj the chance this time.

Its crazy to think we are still in with a chance of getting top 4 after how utterly shocking we have been this season. Beat City and we are 1 point of fourth. Don't know how we are going to manage it but if we can somehow pull out a victory tomorrow we have a great chance of top 4 where as if we lose I feel its pretty much over.

I can't sleep. It's feels like waking up the morning of an exam you've done feck all preparation for.

Sure, you can have a look at the paper, pretend to look like you know what you're doing and jot down a few nonsensical musings but that's not going to stop that F ready to slap us in the face at the end.

Not excited at all since there's no way in hell we'll win. Don't even see us coming out hard to beat ... Oh well, hopefully we'll win the possession.

If the aguero turns up, this could be humiliating. If we can control him, i think we could get away with a draw. The only way we win is, if they get red card early on in the game.

Honestly I don't get the negativity here. City is obviously as bad as we are so I think we have a good chance.

Its just a case of which team is the most crap on the day. I think City will sneak it, but hopefully even we can create a few chances against their defence.
