I'd keep Garnacho as an impact sub. Dalot deserves to be dropped.

Reckon we'll win this if we approach it in the same way as we did at the Emirates. City are shit.

Normally I’m never confident going into Derby’s but I think we have a great chance of winning here. Never been more confident in a derby game than now. There at rock bottom. Yes we’re hit and miss aswell but we won’t have to be at our best to beat them like we normally have to be.

I think this will be an awful game for neutrals and fans alike. 0-0.

City 1 win in 10 and our form is...erratic, no result would surprise me actually but feels like a draw is on the cards.

I want to see Yoro in the lineup, his pace and size could be useful. Tough though because Maz has been our best player along with Diallo this year.

I'll gladly take a draw if offered now. Most of build up will be about Man City's form and those wondering can United add to their misery but few will mention that City have only lost 1 home league game this season and United have only won once away which was on first day of the season against Southampton..

When was the last time we won a major away game? Spurs away under Ole comes to mind. We haven't beaten Arsenal/Chelsea/City/Liverpool away in 4 years if I'm not wrong. I don't have much hope. A draw will be a good result.

    The El Shitico derby.

Who knows we might get up for the occasion but this team look more suited to modelling the new fashion range I had sent to me via email yesterday than winning matches.

City are a mess but that mess battered Forest and we made a mess of them.

Go for it and play wingers not full backs out wide.

    Hojlund
    Mount Amad
    Garnacho Bruno Ugarte Antony
    Martinez De Ligt Mazraoui
    Onana
This is a good team with lots of runners attacking and defense wise. The only change I’m ok with is playing Amad instead of Antony and putting Bruno in place of Amad with Casemiro next to Ugarte

    Hojlund
    Bruno Mount
    Dalot Mainoo Ugarte Amad
    Martinez De Ligt Yoro
    Onana
I like this set up apart from Dalot at left wing back. But that's all we have. Amass for some reason has not been trusted. It's probably why I'm not a manager but I thought he would be the next big thing. Perhaps it's his size. That's why there are strong rumours about Leon being signed.

I think this might be the way Amorim goes. Mazraoui and Amad have probably been our two most consistent players this season and we need to get them in the team. However, despite City's frailties, particularly in midfield, I still don't think we can play Bruno there away to a top side. Mount has looked sharp and I'd like to see him given a start, he'll do a lot of running which will be fantastic for the first hour to really pressure City's midfield. I think we will be able to create a box and get an overload with Mainoo/Ugarte/Bruno/Mount working together. This means Amad probably needs to go back to the wing back role and we'll need a defender on the other side... I don't like Dalot on the left but it seems to be what Amorim defaults to, so we have someone athletic in that position.

De Ligt and Martinez are finally getting some consistency together, and Mazraoui looks great in that role. We have a lot of flexibility with how substitutes can be utilised as players like Maz, Amad, Bruno, and Dalot can move position depending on the change we make. Eg. Amad could go into a no.10 if Mount is subbed after an hour and we can bring on Yoro with Mazraoui going to RWB. Or, Dalot could move to RWB and we bring on Garnacho/Malacia.

Hojlund should start because he's looked the most likely to make the difference in front of goal lately and not just because he scored two last night. Even the games he didn't score, he looks to be getting into better positions. Zirkzee gave the ball away probably 20+ times last night, we can't be doing that against City so I don't think his style is going to suit this game when he can't hold the ball up. If we keep doing that and making individual errors like Onana has, we will give City too much encouragement and probably be a catalyst for them getting back on track. But really, we should be seeing this as a huge opportunity to go there and beat them. I still don't expect us to win, but I think we are making progress in terms of the coaching staff understanding who can and will do what. Hopefully we can get a result as losses in games like Forest at OT mean you have to make up the difference in the bigger games.

No chance he will play Garnacho at wing back against City, when he's never played there before.

Weirdly looking forward to this one. Yes we have a few mistakes in us so does City atm. Yoro Ugarte and mount will be back in the starting lineup. We will win 0-2

Højlund, Amad, Mazraoui, Ugarte and Bruno absolutely have to start. Martinez and De Light most likely will start as well.

I could imagine Amorim going with something like:

    Onana
Mazraoui - De Light - Martinez
    Diallo - Ugarte - Casemiro - Dalot
    Bruno - Mount
    Højlund

Casemiro has been poor lately and Dalot has shown very little, I do wonder if Antony will look better there

If we are playing Bruno and Mount in the 10s then we need to have pace on the flanks so Amad and someone else. We need to be carrying a threat not camped in our own half like the Arsenal game.

    GK
Yoro - De Ligt - Martinez
    Mazraoui - Ugarte - Bruno - Malacia
    Amad - Hojlund - Mount

That's what I would go with.

Why is everyone putting Mount in their starting XIs? He's not been starting recently, has he?
I think he would offer more than Rashford or Garnacho (Attacking threat, Ball retention, defensive workrate and discipline) right now. Its an indictment on how poor Rashford and Garnacho have been that Mount's being put in lineups ahead of them.

You just know Halaand, Foden etc are suddenly going to rediscover their form...

    Onana
    Mazraoui de Ligt Martinez
    Dalot Ugarte Fernandes Antony
    Amad Mount

I'd go with something like that. It feels a bit icky having Dalot and Antony as wing backs but it maximises the ability to get our good players in their best positions. Amad is better than any of Zirkzee, Rashford and Garnacho in that 10 role and we looked far less static after Hojlund and Mount came on against Plzen.

Anyone leaving Mazraoui out is a lunatic, been the best defender by a country mile

It would be beautiful if we can hammer another nail in the coffin but you just never know what we are going to produce.

Why is everyone putting Mount in their starting XIs? He's not been starting recently, has he?
He's been back in the squad since just before the last international break. Started against Bodo/Glimt on 28/11, against Arsenal on 4/12, and had sub appearances against Ipswich, Forest, and Plzen. Seems to be getting up to fitness now and has looked much sharper. I think it's a good tactical move against City to press their midfield and defence which has looked a lot more suspect lately. Rashford and Garnacho haven't quite looked as good in those no.10 positions so I wouldn't be surprised to see Mount start.

    Onana
    Mazraoui de Ligt Martinez
Amad Ugarte Mainoo Dalot (or Malacia)
    Mount Bruno
    Hojlund

I would say that’s our strongest team right now, and good enough to beat that lot.

The issue with that is it lacks pace. To beat city we need pace. We ain’t passing around them. Only Højlund there offers us runs in behind.
