We missed lots of chances and let ourselves get sucker punched. Nothing particularly new in this. Pellistri isn't a right back and his positioning for Bernardo's header showed that. Should have dealt with the situation much better before the cross came in too.

Onana isnt United goalkeeper. I think Onana will have this season to prove otherwise, Ineos will move him to the bench or out of United.

Played well after the big "wtf is going on" in the first 30. Should've won in the end, hope we get them on pens but pleased overall even if City had a much weaker side out there.

Team looks weaker since the subs.

I think the change of shape at the back has been the issue. It's gone back to a more traditional back four and City have sliced through the midfield since those changes reminiscent of what happened last season, it's not a coincidence.

There has undoubtedly been more positives than negatives in the game overall it's been a relatively good performance.

Playing without a centre forward when we just bought a second one, and playing Pellestri at RB cost us that game... Unless we somehow win the shootout.

Pretty decent performance overall. Really should have scored at least 2. Finishing remains our weakest area.

With two new reinforcements in defence, things will improve for us. Hopefully the staff bring in another midfielder to complete the summer. Mctominay needs to be let go.

We can buy the 4 best defenders in the world but unless the collective mentality of this team changes we will continue to lose leads even with seconds remaining in games. I have seen nothing in ETH coaching which leads me think this'll ger better.

Think United deserved to win over the 90 minutes, and that doesn't happen often against City. City would score a 5.5, United a 6.5 in my opinion.

Looked good today. Shame about Pellestri but wonder if it was a last minute thing with AWB leaving

We were the better team today and should have won it. Fortunately, the match is of no importance and the penalty kicks are unimportant.

Incredible that we go into the season with Pellistri playing at RB.

We were the much better side and should have scored 3-4 goals if our players knew how to be clinical in the final 3rd.

Overall very pleased with that display but should have had the game won long before City equalised against the run of play.

Pens now, literally heads or tails but whatever happens, we’ve done really well albeit missed opportunities have cost us the win in 90 mins.

Good performance really, much sharper forward passing to quickly create. Decent signs, not sure how much we should read into it given the teams but cautiously optimistic for the start of the season.

Should have won that. We will go on to lose the pens now, always the case.

Mctominay and Rashford and have buried their chances.

Can’t wait til we see a team without Rashford in it

Seen nothing to suggest that the matchday threads will be any less clueless this season.

Oh boy. What if I told you these are both screenshots from today's game, and Rashy still ended up with zero shots on target?

 meant the equalizer, unfortunately i watched those misses

Definitely lots of positives. Amad, Bruno and Garnacho have looked great.

Lots of things to still work on. Rashford is still a concern going into the new season. I do think a slower league would suit him more.
