    Apart from penalties, city havent lost in 35 games.

    Trying to make a case for us to win is very difficult. We need a combination of the following that I just dont think will happen:

    discipline and concentration
    finishing
    refereeing quality
    a city off day

    foden is their key guy at the moment no doubt. Maybe an early mark might make him think of euros, though thats at desperation stage.

    Imagine being where we are after spending 400 million and ten Hag having two years to drill his tactics into his team: we still think we are getting pumped, and maybe we nick a consolation goal/penalty.
     
    Two colleagues of mine at work, one supports Arsenal the other Pool both told me they will be cheering for Utd this weekend.

    Was a bit surprised cos City's wins will always feel plastic to me, but guess they are just sick of them to the extent that they would cheer for us.

    They won't all be like that, but surprising to see any element of it at all tbh.
     
    Can imagine Foden scoring a couple. While half the defence are trying to stop Haaland, Foden can do as he please.

    I am the same these days. Always prefer to see actual football clubs competing and winning things.

    I'd be dead, which would make it tough to gloat, but I'd still manage it.

    I'm sure that Wigan team outplayed Fergies Utd when we blew the title in 2012. If memory serves me right, Martinez played a 3-4-3 formation and it confused Utd big time.

    one of my favourite cup finals without United was when the Mighty Wimbledon beat the scousers and the scousers even failed to score from the penalty spot, a super save from Dave Beasant.
    Or how about Coventry beating Spurs? The cup final over the years has thrown up many a surprise, another huge surprise win was Sunderland beating Leeds.
    This final is far from being a one horse race and on the day Utd have every chance, it’s football and strange things can and do happen.
     
    Last year I thought our chances were like 30% as we were closing on a good season. With how we've played this season and problems in defence, it's 85-90% chance City win. Maybe bigger than Spurs had vs them in 2021 League cup final.

    God, I remember that day. I was really upset. That was the day I knew that we would throw away the title.

    "Outplayed" is a bit of a stretch. Neither team created anything and their goal came from a corner which should've been a goal kick.
     
    Every single one of us always expect a thumping past these when we play them but these and Liverpool are the only teams ETH changes his tactics for. He plays more compact. We’ll probably lose like 3/0/3-1. Don’t think we’ll get hammered.
     
    I wish instead of flooding the defence, we flood the midfield with 451 without neither rashford or hojlund in starting 11 as they would be passengers in such a set up due to different reasons, rashford because he doesn't work hard enough and hojlund because he goes completely missing in such games with little supply and support
     
    Can already see Amrabat getting booked for a foul on Foden and that prick scoring.
     
    They're drowning in beer and will lose all competitive edge come Saturday. Predicting a hard-fought 2-1 for us.

    I did a tour of the old Wembley in the 90s and at the end of it you were allowed walk up the famous steps and get the chance to lift the FA Cup. A lot of the charm of this competition has been lost due to clubs such as soulless City how sweet it would be for United to win on Saturday.

    Our only hope is that City have over celebrated winning the league and take their eye of the ball.

    If they play at even 80% of what they're capable of it will be an easy afternoon for them.

    Hoping we go with the mental tactics of Maguire playing both CB and CF at the same time.

    I really struggled with the two split strikers. It could easily have been Amad and Højlund. Either way, start any two of the four and then you have two decent options from the bench who can come on and make an impact.

    Rashford should be fired up for this, had a shite season, left out of the Euros, if that doesn't light a fire under his arse, nothing will.

    Ideally if everyone is fit, I think this should be the starting team.
