No Rodri and no Ronaldo would be a big advantage our way

    Full strength would currently be

    De Gea

    Dalot Varane Martinez Malacia
    McTominay
    Eriksen Fernandes
    Antony Rashford Sancho

Casemiro and Martial will get their chance against Omonia I think.
Inclined to agree. I think Scott tends to do pretty well against City too. I fancy a cheeky punt for us to not lose by more than 1 goal.

I’m waiting for the “Is Top 4 still possible?” threads to surface after we narrowly lose to City.

Why would he and why would you hope so? He's been really bad.
Oh here we go. He’s had a couple poor games in a new team and league. He’s a proven class player. Against this city attack, of course I would hope he starts and helps us get a good result. Scott has been good recently but against this city midfield do you really expect a midfield 3 of him Bruno and Eriksen to hold their own? We need a solid anchor.

Think City will score 2-3. Then it's all about if we can score as many or more. Had a dream we won 5-3 but that's not happening obviously

Rodri missing, Im sure there will be another shithouse to keep committing professional fouls all game long

Ah shit I thought this was at Old Trafford, my confidence is waning now…

We’re far better at the Etihad, in recent years at least.

Our recent record at the Emptihad against them is miles better than at home.

So they’ve got Dias, Laporte and Rodri all missing from their spine replaced with Akanji, Ake and Gundogan. That’s a big advantage for us hopefully!

I think its a mistake to play that midfield 3 against this city team. I’m never negative before games and I actually think we can beat them, but I would’ve added an extra man in midfield.

About as weak a Man City side as we could expect, still strong enough though but we’ve got a chance.

Yep  “we ain’t catching Arsenal but we’ve got a chance to catch Spurs” as though the season is ending next week rather than 7 months time.

Not the strongest City line up but we'll still have to be far better than we have been otherwise could be a heavy defeat.

I’m a lot more excited and slightly more confident seeing their defence. Some big names out for them. Dias out is huge.

Akanji and Ake is certainly a CB pairing that can be exploited
Just noticed that both Ake and Laporte are on the bench. Is this tactical? Or are either coming back from injury?

With all the focus on Haaland, I bet some random nomark like foden will score. Especially after disappointing for England, he'll want to 'prove' himself.

Could be tactical as well. Akanji and Ake might be how Pep reckons he'll beat our pace on the counter.
