The man the myth the legend. Our captain Harry Maguire.

Sure overall this is more Elangas fault but feck me Harry you are not very good

Decent half, I guess. Nice goal by Sancho. Dreadful defending on both City goals. We are lucky not to be down by more, but that's on par for the course by now. Too many 1:100 passes again, just can't keep the ball. Remains to be seen if we fall apart now, but at least it's better than that game.

We’ve been like this for a good few years. It’s proof that the squad, generally speaking, has the talent, but they completely lack the execution to do so consistently
Coaching can't be blamed because your team has ideas to attack and keeping structure for most time while defending but reacting miserably for misplaced pass or quick change over from possession.

I’ve been watching it on Sky World VR (which is brilliant being essentially at the game sat in my living room) so I’ve seen the whole pitch rather than on TV, we’ve setup well and it’s actually been very even, they simply have better players than us, with quicker movement and better touch. If we had a world class centre mid we’d be winning this. Of course, they’re overloading the left and our defending is amateur.

Don't think we have been too bad. That being said I don't think we are going to be good enough today to get the win. I'd take a draw all day long

Definitely not convincing at the back and that's what will probably result in us losing but a threat on the counter with the formation without a doubt.

Have to say, even though we conceded early in the game, I liked the way we played until Sancho's equalizer. Ever since it was City in that 1st half.

Pogba assisted Sancho for the goal but other than that has been poor imo.

Can see us scoring again. But conceding another 2 as well, so something like 4-2 could be result at full time, we're too vulnerable defensively.

WTF was Maguire doing on the second goal??? Truly remarkable decision to invite City to take that shot.

Same here. We aren't doing horrendously bad.
But I expect us to lose.

We've not been awful, but we've been the poorer team. They got to our byline and into our box far too easily, things we mostly struggled to do

Not expecting much, but who knows. I could see us scoring again, but City probably will as well

Pogba probably has another 20 mins in him, Utd need to maximize that by getting him the ball with runners going. City have targeted the AWB/Lindelof and MCT trio and had a lot of success with little triangles. Need to tighten that up.

Generally I think Utd have looked quite good in many areas but with some key weakness.

They are outnumbering us in midfield badly.

    High risk high reward system.

much better than I feared but all four defenders have been poor - you can't give City those type of chances and expect to get anything from the game

We’ve been decent in possession but we’ve looked quite vulnerable out of it. I like that we’re ‘taking the game to them’ but those individual errors are so so so dreadful.

I actually think the attack has done well all things considered. Bruno, Pogba and Sancho have put together some quick moves under pressure to trouble City. Apart from being at fault for their goal, even Elanga has dealt with City's press well in the transition.

But our defense is non-existent. Just look at how alert City are and how panicked and clueless we look inside our own box. Not to mention 8 of their players get back to defend their box while our midfielders often stand around. I just hope we don't get overrun in the second half and as long as it's 2-1, we're in with a chance.

In games like this attacking decisions have to be spot on, we've done okay so far.

Redknapp blamed Telles and Lindelof specifically at half time :D

No mention of the other two defenders at all

Nice to see like minded affluent posters like yourself.

Catalogue of errors for the 2nd goal but Maguire letting that through his legs instead of clearing it for a corner was awful

Not a terrible performance. Sancho and Maguire played really well and some nice football at times. Lindelof and Telles just making poor mistakes cost us unfortunately.
Are you serious? He has been absolutely shocking, could have conceded three penalties and at fault for the second goal. Nowhere near good enough.

So frustrating. Really basic errors costing us time and time again.

A big commanding defender sets the tone for a team. Look at the difference with Liverpool with and without Van Dijk. Until Maguire is binned, everything else is irrelevant, I've never seen a defender make so many mistakes at this level. Never.

So much of their play goes through KDB, he's always finding spaces, don't see why we don't stick fred or mcT on him permanently.

It’s just occurred to me for the first time that we really do need a 7-9 player overhaul.

    It’s really troubling and depressing.
