He is better central midfielder/midfielder/player than Fellaini, so of course they should be compared. If Herrera starts in cm, then we could play one of Mata, or Memphis, again - both players who are better than Fellaini.

But we'd get just as walked in the midfield as we will with Fellaini there. I can understand why people don't want him to play, can't understand why at the same time there's this need to pretend that Herrera is actually good there when he isn't.

Oh right, so because one player is shit it automatically means that the other one is the solution, carry on then.
Hasn't Herrera played in a two man midfield quite a bit for Atlantic bilbao? Schneiderlin and Herrera as a midfield two seems a lot better than schneiderlin Fellaini

The Fellaini inclusion makes me wonder what Giggs is saying about this. If he is pro Fellaini, he's a dud. If he's anti Fellaini, he clearly doesn't have the guts to challenge LvG. Do not want!

Think Fellani will play the 10 and that Memphis would have been a horrible choice for starting against this Liverpool team, surrenders the ball far too easily.

I love Schmeichel but he doesn't half talk a load of shite does he?
You have to wonder if some of these ex players and pundits even watch us sometimes. Lou Macari just said on Mutv that Ashley Young is left footed.

Is it just me that thinks the manager never actually picks players based on the game?

Just seems like he goes with whatever his current trend is.

Is Schmeichel really trying to make out Mignolet is a decent keeper?

Maybe we would, maybe we wouldn't. Herrera played just few games deeper in central midfield for us, with mixed performances. We definitely will be with Fellaini. Fellaini played many more games in central midfield and is usually terrible whenever he starts there, and not just that, my biggest gripe with Fellaini is actually that we are terrible defensively when he plays in cm, our defense is always exposed with him.

I am not sure that anyone is saying that Herrera is excellent or something like that, even I as his fan ackonwledge that he is having quite shit season, but he is still much better option than Fellaini. Fellaini simply isn't good enough to be a starter for us, and never will be, I am quite sure many people would pick Rooney in midfield two ahead of him, especially alongside Schneiderlin.

And also many people want Herrera there simply because then we could pick other players over Fellaini in number ten role, and not just because they want to see Herrera played there.

Bet Carrick can not wait to hear all kind of comments vs LvG...

Not at all optimistic about this match, but the excitement has finally kicked in.

No, they were not 'mixed performances', they were terrible but alright, understand the rest.

Peter Schmeichel is about to smash Souness in the mouth.

Is Schmeichel really trying to make out Mignolet is a decent keeper?

He was making a sensible comment and was shot down by those two pandering to Sky's need for pantomime elements.

Why so many people moaning about Lingard? He's been one of our best players this season, actually plays like he cares.

The boy has been a pleasant surprise but his finishing has been borderline shocking. Two, maybe three, sitters have been wasted. Clean that up and suddenly he's a monster.

I was just wondering who these fantastic options are that should play instead of the current midfield. Funny enough we have two out injured and another option we could use is injured as well. Mata, that everyone is complaining every week about. Today he has picked probably the best he has. It is how he sets them up people should be discussing not the personel.

Souness constantly butting in on him. A couple of times Peter has had to tell him to button it while he speaks.

Seeing Fellaini in the starting lineup is actually frustrated me alot and made me lose my supporting tempo.

He was only referring to one element of Mignolet's game though. When you look at his whole game as a keeper he really isn't very good.

Yup, in the ideal world he'd revert to 4141 we played last season but you just know he won't and he'll insist with playing two #6s and #10 which has not worked the whole season.
