My first 11/11 in ages, yay!

Now for it all to go downhill from here... :(

Would prefer Mata centrally or Memphis outwide (moving Rooney #10 and Martial #9) than Fellaini, why he continues to play boggles my mind.

    Rooney

    Martial......Mata......Lingard

    Schneiderlin....Herrera

    Or

    Martial

    Depay........Rooney........Ligard

    Schneiderlin.....Herrera
Also would prefer to see Januzaj inplace of Lingard.

Bizarre assessment of Herrera by Schmeichel here? I believe pretty much the opposite of what he is saying. Decent team though, my only problem is Fellaini starting in that position. (Sounding like a broken record.)

Actually turning this game on became a chore when I saw Fellaini in the line-up.

I don't like the team (mainly Fellaini & Lingard) but you know what LVG does have a very good record against Liverpool. Big, big game today.

This is why we won't move forward as a club and a team, recycling the same dross and living off old glory. Rooney and Fellaini especially have not deserved the minutes they've had. If we lose today cos of this we deserve.

    May the better team win.

Herrera is one of the most direct players in the squad. His first touch is nearly always a forward one. What is Pete on about?
I didn't know Schmeichel was so clueless, also said neville could be next United manager...

Mata has been in even worse form than Fallaini for the past 2 months. His play has been pathetic.

Memphis is a wide player. Herrera can only play no 10 ... His central midfield okay so far has been erratic and can't be trusted do put in a box to box performance.

I'm not saying Fellaini is a great choice but neither option you propose gives me any more confidence.
Rooney as a 10, Herrera midfield, Memphis wide, martial up top. Its far better overall. Herrera might have been a bit erratic in midfield lately but its better then the pub level play that fellaini shows. Its like people think that fellaini is a safe option, when he continually plays really badly there. Since he is playing, I hope he's at the #10 position with Herrera in midfield, since at least we can hit it long to him.

I dont rate our chances with Fellani. I may alter my predictions accordingly. He slows our tempo down and gives way too many fouls away. The Liverpool players will know this and I wouldn't be surprised if he sees red today because of his rotar blade arms swinging about and catching one of them.

I had a little bet that our first foul against Newcastle would be by Fellani and I was right:lol:

Are we now pretending that Herrera is good in two man midfield as a #6?

Yeah, once we have stopped pretending that Fellaini is good in any position.

I did put a 3-1 to Liverpool in my predictions. Seeing their line-up has changed my mind. It's so poor we're bound to feck it up though. They're either going to beat us 3-0 or we'll turn them over 4-0. But then it could just as easily end up a 0-0 bore draw after all the hype! Just never can tell anymore!

Henry Winter is such a windbag isn't he? I cannot believe that i used to think his opinion was of more worth than that elsewhere on Fleet Street.

Oh right, so because one player is shit it automatically means that the other one is the solution, carry on then.

He is better central midfielder/midfielder/player than Fellaini, so of course they should be compared. If Herrera starts in cm, then we could play one of Mata, or Memphis, again - both players who are better than Fellaini.
