Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • Similar to ETHs third league game in charge. Could see it

Current situation is motivation enough for the team to put in a proper shift.

We are capable of taking points off Liverpool. Nevermind the drubbings they've been handing out. We can get a result here.

Salah has 15 goals and 6 assists against us in 16 matches. We are even the one club he has scored the most goals against. Ffs.

It could get ugly seeing as he’s in the form of his life fighting for his final big contract.

Yup. He’ll definitely score at least one, probably about three or four. He’s been a constant thorn in our side and I can’t wait for him to feck off to Saudi Arabia.

Amad in top form would be a great replacement for him in that team. Imagine the headaches he’d give teams not being 50 yards away from the goal all the time.

I can’t see anything but a pasting here. We’ve been totally lacklustre since the Rashford stuff came out. All is not well behind the scenes.

You never know what might happen. Seem to recall many, including myself, despairing at the prospect of playing City and Liverpool last season and we beat both and we snatched two draws against Liverpool in the league.

If we don’t concede early and we park the bus well enough we could frustrate them. The sad thing is, although I actually think we have it in us to give a good defensive performance, despite everything recently, I don’t have confidence the attack will score. Would be a happy with a 0-0.

Putting a dent in their title hopes and giving Arsenal or Forest an advantage would be extra nice!

Has all the hallmarks of a game we get something from.
Everyone has written us off here, even Pool fans I know that are normally cagey about these games are confident of the win.

We will probably live off of luck this game and grab a 1-1 or 2-1 smash and grab.

Last time we scored at Anfield we had a Portuguese manager so I suppose that's a positive.

    ..................................................................
    ...........................Onana............................

This'll be Liverpool's easiest match of the season. We've got nobody who can handle good attackers, let alone Salah, who is arguably the best in the world at the moment.

The only interesting thing will be whether or not we finally manage to score a league goal. I'm guessing we won't.

Dreading this with every fibre of my being.

They are going to obliterate us. Decimation. It will be frankly evil what will be done to us.

My only hope is it isn't so bad we are demanded to 'react' and wind up signing average players like Muani or Gyokeres on inflated prices.

Will be ecstatic if we win but seriously cannot see us having a shot on target let alone scoring. Would (figuratively, relax) sell my beloved children for a draw (again, not really).

Six, seven nil is my take and I hope to the highest hope I am wrong.

Jesse Lingard was the last player to score a goal for Manchester United against Liverpool at Anfield - on 16 December 2018
    Insane

Are you telling me we haven’t even scored at Anfield for over 6 years? feck.

...and we won't be ending that dismal record in this game.
We can't score goals and we are going to be up against the joint best defence in the PL.

    .

Højlund versus van Dijk. That’s a tough one.

Salah having ocean of space behind over back three. Even worse.

If we get a point that would be massive.

This will be another slaughter for the ages but then again we should be used to it now. No point even getting upset over it. No other big team gets beaten like us. I guess this is relegation season so more shit awaits us.

I wouldn’t be surprised if somehow we game-raise and steal a win. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we’re five down at half-time.
Nah, I’ve thought this before but in this case it’s 1 in 100 chance, if that. We will lose.

I can see why you think this way and normally I would agree but not this time.

I would try an Ugarte/Martinez midfield.

Remember last season Amrabat did a decent job defensively in there when we parked the bus. Martinez is not really a DM but he could do a job there for one game.

Mainoo should also play tbh but not with the way Amorim sets up with three central defenders (I would prefer three in midfield). I just think we need midfielders in there with defensive capabilities to get anything, so I'd try out Martinez and see if he can adapt.

I’m not gonna watch it. First big game in years, possibly since forever, that I will intentionally miss. But we’re gonna get absolutely pummelled so I think I’ll just go for a hike or something

Honestly don't feel these players deserve my ninety minutes on Sunday. I hope I get a notification we somehow won the game Sunday evening but I am fully expecting to get absolutely destroyed and I will not be watching.

Let's face it, everyone but the wildly optimistic, or deluded, expects us not only to lose, but to get hammered.
Even so, I expect the Caf will go into a raging meltdown after the final whistle.
You have to ask why?, when barring a miracle, we already pretty much know the outcome of this fixture?

These cnuts actually have a shot at bettering the 7-0 here. The nightmare never ends.

something like this. Also when Liverpool were a banter club and we were dominant they still nearly always gave us a close game and managed to beat us in the 90s and 2000s. What the feck are we at the last few years? Oh let’s keep the score down? This is a billion pound team

Think we’ll take an ironic lead against all the odds but they’ll get an equaliser before half time and then we’ll fold in the second half like a cheap pack of cards. 4-1

Martinez has been out of form, although his vertical passes are the best out of our CBs and we lose that without him. Garnacho comes in because who else can play there. I hate Mazraoui at wingback and would rather just about anyone else. Put Amad where he’s done well.

We need to score first, but if we do, we may get a draw. 1-1 would be lovely.

Wish I could believe that but I’ve just got a bad feeling about this one. Hopefully I’m wrong!

Seeing them on Talkshite say that we have returned to our rightful place after Fergie is a rewriting of history. Remember we won the first English European cup before you were heavily funded to yours.

You just know half of our team are crapping themselves even thinking about the hostile atmosphere and their people already have their social media posts done and ready to go about it been unacceptable , must do better etc etc . Much easier to do that than actually man up and show some character and work rate.

Sad how this fixture has gone , through the years no matter how much stronger one club was at the time , the matches were nearly always competitive and could go either way.

Not anymore , no one would be shocked by 4 or 5 or even more of a drubbing. Always proud to be a Utd fan but this group of players have just embarrassed us too many times to expect any different from them, can't wait until we are shot of them.
