Are those players really that much better than ours? Like thrashing better? I don’t think so

They are a decent side but not one most teams would be afraid of , but the thrashing talk come from our mental brittleness and tendency to sh!t ourselves in pressure situations in big games. They would not rack up a big score against other teams even lower ranked than us but could against us because of our mental weakness.

Don't like that Mainoo, Garnacho or Hojlund are in. Don't think it's fair on them to be a big part of what is about to happen...
Really hope I'm wrong, but I'm dreading it.

Why? they are part of the squad. Good players and they have to step up when needed. If they aren't capable of playing in these games what's the point of having them?

Team I expected today. Let’s see how they get on. Nobody out there won’t give it their all anyway that’s for sure. The quality however is abysmal.

We keep it tight with Mainoo and Amrabat, and just use Garnacho and Hojlund pace for counter attacks, anything else and we get thumped

Glad Mainoo starts. Think he’ll be crucial against their midfield.

Our bench is hilarious

was it really worth banning Sancho for your attacking subs to be Pellistri and injured Rashford?

Sums it up that we look a bit more solid on paper when ETH is forced into it

Should have started AWB but considering the injuries that's not a bad side

the meltdown over captain choice is hilarious. We have how many players missing, including other captain choices. If rumours are believed varane and ten hag arent settled behind the scenes, and mctominay is one of a few players coming through recent weeks with a semblance of credit. Its one game with probably the first 5 choices in captain missing. Plenty moaning were probably calling for shaw to never play for united again after his performance here last season.

    Calm down you lunatics.

Our fans were snubbing their nose up at gravenberch in the summer. Arnold is laughed at as a rb but good going forward. Van dijk was called past his best. Did anyone even know endo? And Nunez was laughed at.

the players look better because they’re in a better team imo. They may be better than our players but like I said. It’s no where near thrashing better
I'm whatever about Gravenberch still, and Endo is average. But our midfield is Amrabat who is average, McTominay who we all know what he is and isn't, and Mainoo who tbf is an elite talent but has played 2 games.

Endo and Amrabat I put on the same level, hell even Gravenberch and Mainoo I don't think there is actually much in it. Szboszlai is class though.

TAA is a generational talent, let's not kid ourselves there. Van Dijk was world class who had an ACL injury so took a while to get back in form like Vidic did in 2010 or whatever. Not what he was, still quality, still better than current day Varane and our other CB is Evans...

Darwin is a constant threat in games, he's not amazing but he is capable of being an excellent player. I think Hojlund has huge potential but he's not there yet.

Starting 11 wise there is a lot in it. But yes tactics will exacerbate that. It's not 7-0 difference. We should be able to be competitive in these games. But the lineup is pretty much mid table level today, something like Brentford or Crystal Palace level.

I would of liked to have seen us pack the midfield with workrate. Playing McTom in there is going to leave Mainoo and Amrabat exposed.

    Hannibal instead of Antony maybe.

Am I mad for thinking we have half a chance?

I think having an actual midfield three, on paper at least, will give us a semblance of balance. Sit deep, scrap, and play on the counter with the front 3, with the occasional late run from McTominay. It has the ingredients for a scrappy away win.

In reality though I expect we'll see McTominay far too high up the pitch (by instruction, not even really his fault).

Actually glad Bruno is missing for this. We'll probably be stronger in midfield for it.
Fernandes is better than anyone in midfield. However I'm almost willing to agree with you. That is because he runs everywhere trying to help his teammates who should be our attackers that he forgets his own role in the team.

Honestly the most balanced looking midfield we've started with in a while

Would have preferred AWB in for Dalot as I think he'd be a better match up for Diaz but no complaints otherwise

Our bench is hilarious

was it really worth banning Sancho for your attacking subs to be Pellistri and injured Rashford?

Yes definitely. If he was even remotely interested he would have apologised for being a stupid rwat.

They are a decent side but not one most teams would be afraid of , but the thrashing talk come from our mental brittleness and tendency to sh!t ourselves in pressure situations in big games. also, other sides play as a tam - we play like 11 blokes who just met up in the park and decided to have a kick about
