Just remember the expectation guys.... Do not lose your shit if what we expected happens to play out later. It is what it is

The fact that fans have been reduced to this level of apathy by this team is astounding. We’re Manchester United and we’re about to play our biggest historical rivals and the feeling is well you know if we get smashed we get smashed. It’s expected. No biggie.

The state that this club has become :(

What a strange group of fans we have. Always trying to find something to have a go at. What is he supposed to say?

Would you have been happier if he said "Because of all injuries, suspensions, no great football, low moral and bad character we have no chance and ManUtd fans should expect us to lose.

They'll be annoyed if we don't get smashed. The sort of fans that prefer losing to winning because it enables their whining.

Think we will probably see a very cagey, negative performance from us. The plan will be to not to get humiliated and will probably end getting humiliated.

I can see it being like that City game a year or two where it was only 2-0 but we got absolutely battered.

I know this is disgusting to say, but these players have just eroded everything for me in terms of expectations. I have no hope of us winning this game and I think practically none of the players even know what this fixture means to us anymore. I would take a narrow loss as somewhat of a positive which is so sad and embarrassing to say.

Even if we had a full strength side and weren't performing at terrible levels I still wouldn't expect us to win. But I'd think we had a chance or could come away with a draw. These players don't have the mental capabilities or pride to put a shift in. Even if most of the Liverpool players have a bad day, you know they'll still work.

I just hope it isn't as embarrassing a defeat as a lot of us are fearing:

    Liverpool 3-0 Man Utd

You can get odds of 7/1 for us to win this one , the fact that Man Utd are 7/1 in any premier league match shows just what a basket case club we are right now.

I am hoping against hope that that these players show something they have rarely shown and that is a bit of bottle away from home against a good team and bit of personal pride not to get embarrassed.

Liverpool are not blowing any team away and despite been top they have not actually been that great themselves but the odds reflect that this Utd squad normally sh!t themselves in a pressure situation.

Another collapse here and yet another week of been the butt of all jokes will be very frustrating to put it mildly.

Not sure if I'm gonna tune in for this one. I'm not really into masochism.

Gonna have to wait for the lineup first.

Or they watched us get humiliated and panicked v Bournemouth at home and freeze v Bayern when we needed a win to stand any chance?
We are ok with no expectations but in games where we need results we constantly shit the bed and particularly after scoring. Nothing in the game has changed, we play well and score and in our own minds we crumble after we make the fecking breakthrough. Those last 20 minutes v Galatasaray was a disgrace. All we had to do was make a simple pass or finish and we score 2/3 more but we even bottled that because we are mentally fragile and we do that to ourselves.
Can you blame fans for fearing the worse here? Ten Jag sticks with a formation that sometimes gets the best out of McTominay to the detriment of everybody else and thinks that’s the way to keep going even after watching how many goals we concede.
I’m all for being optimistic and supporting the club before a game but today has nothing to do with wanting to be proven correct.
Look at the goals we concede, are we saying a pulled back cross from the byline that catches our fullback asleep at the far post isn’t guaranteed to happen today? Why will we suddenly be able to defend that?

How long until we concede the first, I'm going with around the two minute mark. The last time we went to Anfield and gave them a game was under LVG I think. That was like 9 years ago.

I wish the posters who wish us to lose this just because it suits their anti ETH or moaning agenda would have a good hard look at themselves. You can want changes in the club management/long term running of the club, but NEVER at the cost of losing to your arch rival.

1:5 for us, that 7:0 last season proved freak results like that can happen so why not for us now, get your shit together and stop dooming like negative Andies you are, stop with pathetic posts where you predict us losing 16:0, put your agendas aside and fecking support the lads ffs.

I reject that claim. I am not an idiot for hoping for the best for my team. Quite the opposite, actually.
Everyone hopes for the best whether or not they expect it or not

Liverpool minus 4 goals is 16/1. Seems easy money

Those results have been disaster, when you look back now.

Bayern almost scored after 30 seconds. Hope we hold out untill Atleast the twenty minute mark

    Nobody wants to lose ffs

theyll score within 5 mins, Then again a few more times

We wont even get a shot in.

Its pathetic to think that way but cant see anything else

Such a weird time. I feel so low about United and our prospects, but a freak win today could be be said to have potential to transform our season. The expected spiritless loss though, will be the day we start to lose sight of top 4 i think.

It's pathetic but I'm not going to watch it. I can't stomach another humiliation against them.

Gonna play Baldur's Gate for 2 hours straight and then check Livescore quickly to see the damage and move on.

I'm at a wedding but will try and stream it...at this point, I just don't want to win 4 in a row.

If we need to lose today, then so be it...sad but there you go.

The Women now 1-2 down to Liverpool at home. Good start to the day.

I cannot fathom any fan that is willingly choosing to miss it. Madness. We're shite but come on...

Yeah, can’t stomach another humiliation in this fixture. I’ll follow along on a liveblog but there’s not a fiber in my skin that is even remotely optimistic that we can even keep this respectable.

All I'm hoping for is that the players keep their feet on the ground and focus on the next challenge in front of them. I know it'll be a cause for celebration when we're done hammering Liverpool at their own place this evening, but we need to use the win as a springboard for the rest of the season and not get carried away.

If we have to win I want it to be in such a way Liverpool feel absolutely robbed and the press go into overdrive about how we dared cheat our way to a win.

I want a Klopp quote for the ages. Violence on the streets of Liverpool, cars burning as Liverpool fans confused and angry about what just happened riot to improve their City, joined by the confused United fans who refuse to accept what just happened.

Even better if we go down to 10 men early on and win it in stoppage time, with a VAR cock up.

Anything less will be a travesty.

It's just sad how inevitable a thrashing here feels. We can't keep letting Liverpool make us their bitch every season, where's the sense of pride?

Just hope Onana will be extra good today - he needs to

I personally can't wait for all of the people predicting a thrashing to come out and say "I told you so"
