Whatever ETH said is still better than "we will try to make it difficult for them" or "we aspire to be like them"

    Onana
    A.W.B Varane Evans Shaw
    Amrabat Mainoo
    Rashford Mctominay Garnacho
    Hojlund
Not thing but hope for the game not much expectency, but this fixture has a habit a throwing big surprises up, Patched up team, manager under pressure, team in poor form, it has all the hallmarks of a surprising result.

Realistically though we are probably going to lose probably by at least a few goals.

How much have we spent over the last 5 years? State of that 11. And before people bring up injuries, only Martinez and Casemiro are injured who are first teamers and should start.

Today I feel like a Scottish NT supporter. McTominay is our only source of goals. But the Scottish NT have a lot more fight than our players though. :D :wenger:

Watching this game is like walking into an abandoned mine. You know you shouldn't do it. You know something awful will happen. You know your day is going to be ruined...but that curiosity is what makes you think "what if?".

im expecting the biggest ever PL defeat today, especially as we have onana.

    So 10-1 to liverpool

Normally I would not watch this but for some strange reason I have decided that I will watch today and hope against all hope that i'm proved wrong. Its probably because I didn't watch in midweek and I turned off the Bournemouth game early so I need my United fix. But if it gets embarrassing quickly then I'll probably turn off.

It's one of those where you turn your phone off for a day or two. Don't think it will be 7 or 8, but we won't get anything from the match, again.

Amazing how these bunch of useless overpaid players are making me want to invest less emotionally into the fate of the club until the Glazers leave together with ETH and 90% of the first team. Win, lose or draw against Liverpool today, we’re not doing anything noteworthy in football until major structural change occurs.

Hopefully your expectations will be disappointed. Don't really know how any Manchester United supporter would expect such a result.

Can't decide whether to bother watching this. Is it worth the 99% chance of embarrassing loss for the 1% chance we win

Could be a cagey game, expecting the team to be pragmatic but Eth has shown to be naive tactically. The last result was a game of two halves so there's a lot of context around the final score. I'll go 2-1 Liverpool.

My fear is if Liverpool score first, panic will set in amongst the players and Liverpool players will go for 7 again

We not only need to make a good start, but we need to score first and make for a nervy game

If Iraola can exploit the massive gap in midfield I'd worry how Klopp will approach it.

We'll see, but hard to be optimistic right now.

Ten Has has shown nothing in games against tough opposition away from home, nothing will change today. Expect another drubbing.

Can’t remember going into a Liverpool game with so little expectation. Sure by kickoff, I’ll be more positive but not now…

Even in Liverpools heyday, I knew we were up for it… saw us beat very good Liverpool sides with average United sides. Beat them in 1980 (with “that” Dalglish miss) but a key reason was they gave everything… if we do that today and lose, I can take it (ish), but not the half arsed performances.

1:2, Garnacho 2x, own goal Varane, 34 shots overall Liverpool with 19 saves from Onana, Antony red card for playacting, Amrabt long term injury, ETH bitch slapping Sancho at away end while walking by, Kopp singing everyone walks home alone to tonigh, Keane KO Carragher live on air, Glazerd announce immediate resignation, we're in for the classsic!

It sums up the mentality of the squad and the manager's ability to motivate them.

The worst thing is it's not even a particularly strong Liverpool side. They've had far better in recent years.

Just remember the expectation guys.... Do not lose your shit if what we expected happens to play out later. It is what it is

Want to say we will scrap a draw or maybe even a win but I can’t look past going 3 - 0 before half time.

At least we may get 1 victory today. Our woman’s 1-0 up.

Without Bruno we have nobody to spread the play or get players away to any reasonable standard so short passes that invites pressure is in the menu which we’ll crumble under or slow passes to the edge of their box which sets us up for counters which we can’t defend. All for creating a few chances that we’ll miss anyway because our number 9 doesn’t know what movement in the box means. They’ll be a few crosses that will look good because Hojlund will barrel through and just miss but he’s only barrelling through because he’s out of position anyway.
I’m the most pessimistic I’ve ever been for a football match and it’s all because it’s so fecking obvious as to how it’ll unfold. You need bottle to get a result at Anfield and that’s the last thing we have. Even if we keep possession it’s meant to discourage the opposition and make the crowd uneasy but we are so soft the crowd will just expect us to throw up a chance which they’ll take anyway so even that takes away half of its effectiveness.

You’re joking but there’s a chance of this. If Liverpool get 3/4 up they won’t let up, in fact they’ll double their efforts while ptsd sets in for us.
Might not be 10 but if it’s 3/4 with an hour gone we are bang in line for it. The crowd will roar them on

No expectations really but if we do lose, I'd like to see us go down fighting and not with a whimper. It's Liverpool away and each United player should play as if his life depended on a result. They owe the fans that much.

I'd love a defensively solid game with a late smash and grab personally.

That’s the spirit, good for you.

I don’t feel good for saying it. We’ve got the second most injuries in the league, our team today will on paper look awful, apart from Burnley we’ve lost the most games, our manager has yet to beat a top 8 team away and we let in 7 goals the last time we played at Anfield.

Yeah not feeling too positive about today.

More chance of being beaten 7-0 again than of us getting three points

I reject that claim. I am not an idiot for hoping for the best for my team. Quite the opposite, actually.
