It's still an incredibly dumb statement that he's never been as confident. Last season Liverpool were flying and United were dreadful, how could he be more confident going into this game than last season's?
True. Even United fans last season were expecting a 5-0 loss at Anfield under Rangnick.

Looking at that lineup under that fraud, we did well to restrict it to 4.

Yeah, it's the 'never been as confident' part that's dumb and completely unnecessary.

I think it's a very tough game to call, and predictions will be mixed as to a win for either side or a draw. So absolutely no issue with him saying he's still confident Liverpool will win again at Anfield. But how could anyone be 'even more' confident this year - when they're not as good and we're finally much improved - than in most of the last 10 years when a win for them has virtually been a guarantee and it's been more about the margin of their victory.

To all of you, who are afraid, pessimistic etc.. just watch this and see if it doesn't pump your blood

Midfield 3 of Casemiro / Fred / Sabitzer?

With Bruno as false 9 or on one of the wings?
I think it’ll be Fred dropped. Sabitzer can hit balls quicker into the front line than Fred can and that’s Liverpools biggest weakness

They have 1 loss in 12 league home games at Anfield so there's that but I think the team shouldn't fear them. We up the tempo and storm them or they will do it to us. As soon as they are hyped, it will become a difficult game.

I’m normally very optimistic, especially this season, but I feel like we’re due a loss at this moment in time.

I think Varane & Shaw will be out and we’ll see some defensive mistakes. I’d take a draw right now. Hopefully I’m wrong and we’ll somehow manage to win this one or at least get a point but even if we lose it’s not the end of the world. Just a bump on the road as we continue to improve day by day this season.

I'd love a result today a win would he great. I realy don't want to lose, only because it put them closer to top 4, league is a long shot, consolidate top 4 is main priority. Eth will play to win we all know that by now . This game will show how far these guys have come.

We must start this game better than we have quite a few recently. They’ll be right up for this one from the first second.

I’ve every belief we can win this one and I’ve not felt that way for this fixture for a long time.

I'm a bit like that as well , I'd still love a win though.

Literally chewing off all my nails now, almost hurts to type. Am so worried about this match. I feel like we're nowhere near where we have to be to even get a draw at their place. I think this is where our fair winds stop and if they beat us by how many I imagine it could break the spirit of the lads, and this could be the beginning of the end of top 4 for us this season. Spurs are wobbly but this 6-pointer for pool is probably what's gonna send us to Europa League, if even that. I think Newcastle with their sportwashing will win through in the end with Fulham as a dark horse to knock us down further. If we can somehow get a draw today we still have a shot at CL next year, but I'm really worried. Salah is back to his world class level, Nunez is gonna unlock today, and Gakpo will be fired up to prove Ten Hag wrong since he didn't want to sign him. I need to get started on the booze asap!

Oh god yeah forgot about Gakpo with a point to prove which is huge danger to us

Good lineup, hope we show up. Would like to see Sabitzer in for Antony in that just to see how hard working that midfield would be... Wouldn't lose a single duel
