Not at all, did you have trouble understanding it? Bless.

Its simple. You've stated that because you've kept clean sheets it MUST mean your defense is good at defending high balls and a physical approach. On your logic we have scored more goals and conceded less whilst having accumulated more points than you therefore we MUST have a better team than you. Unless you're happy to agree with tgat statement then i guess you agree statistics don't tell the whole story mate.
I didn't mention anything about United, not a word, yet you went off on a rant about what I may think of United's defence. As I said a very Strange Lad, or shall we just say 'inventive' which allows you to give full to your creative talent or imagination. Which you did.

There's something wrong when opposition fans are fearing Marouane Fellaini more than any other of our players. No disrespect to Fellaini, who's been terrific of late, but there's absolutely no way he should be feared more than Rooney or Mata or di Maria etc.

It's either wumming or, as much as its hated, delusion.
    He's wumming of course.

Really? You're in a Manchester United forum, on a Liverpool v Manchester United thread, where your original point was responding to the threat of Fellaini, a Manchester United player, to your defense and you don't think its relevant to use Manchester United as an example?

You seem to be struggling with the precedent that I used it as an example about looking purely at stats to determine a point (in your case clean sheets = good at defending high balls and physicality) and at no point did I suggest you'd actually specifically said anything about our defense. I used United as an example that although stats over the season suggest our attack and defense is better than yours (scored more, conceded less, more points) you may suggest otherwise. Do you understand now?

    Balloon knot starting to twitch.
Hope LVG goes for the win, sitting back and letting pool play will only end in disaster.
Rojo and Smalling at CB. Don't think I could I handle a Jones feck up that costs us the game

The rest optimistic after United put in one of the most accomplished performances of any side this season.

Eh ? 3 shots on target from 11 shots and 51.6% possession = most accomplished performances of any side this season ?! ROFL !

All that crap goes out the window when it comes down to United playing Liverpool, how many season have we dominated and won the league yet lost or drawn to Liverpool either home or away?

    Form goes out the window.
Yep. This will likely apply to Sunday too. I do fear it may become a tactical battle though - BR vs. LvG will do that to me.

So the Liverpool fans here are so confident of beating us this Sunday. None of them seems to be concerned at all, or are they hiding their worries?

I just wonder if we really do win, what excuses will they come up with? Ref wearing a United crest on his shirt? Or the pitch isn't up to standard? I just hope they will still be here instead of excusing themselves from this forum.
I wouldn't say that the Liverpool fans here are not concerned. It's a massive match and no matter how well you play (this goes for both teams of course) fate can always intervene in the form of a poor referring error or deflection or red card .. etc.

Ref is Aitkinson .. so a definite possibility there :D The pitch isn't up to standard, it's shite so that's another good excuse I'll bear in mind ;)

None of the Liverpool posters in this thread ever hide. If United win by delivering a better performance then we will recognise that and that United will then have deserved to finish in the Top 4.

Revisionism - see your actual comment below.

And you seem to be struggling with the fact I only spoke about our defence and didn't mention United's at all .. however you still felt that it was OK to insert your opinion of what my thoughts may or may not be as applied to United's defence. Strange Lad.

.......I bet you'd tell us our defense was shit yet we've got the 3rd best defense in the league, better than yours.

Are you actually reading what I write. Look at the post you responded to and the first bold part of your response, here's a snippet.
at no point did I suggest you'd actually specifically said anything about our defense.

Yes I've made an assumption on the legions of posts you've written on this thread. Are you saying you disagree with my assumption that you don't beleive United's defense and attack are better than Liverpool's or are saying that you do beleive they are, in which case you've done an awful lot of contradicting.

    Warnings
    • Are you sure you want to choose 7 midfielders?

Worst part is that two of my subs also are midfielders. And to think people complain about our non-existing midfield.

That's a laugh. Since when do you lot recognise a good United performance? even if we put five past you, there'd be some of you saying they were all flukes.

I'm extremely pessimistic going into this one. Can't see us winning at all, despite how well we played last time out. If we got a draw i'd be very happy.

Not to mention he claimed no Liverpool fan here hides. Strange that I didnt see so many of their posts or so many of them in November and December.

Every win this season has either been a fluke or a opponent beating themselves by not turning up.

'Are you sure you want to choose 10 midfielders?' Yesh, I'm shure. Trust me, its all part of my ingenious evil plan to confuse and befuddle the opposition (and break RedCafe's results prediction thingy). I don't want to get too far ahead with my new role-switching system, though; as of now, De Gea should spend most of his time in the vicinity of the goal.

They can call it what they want as long as we beat them sunday
I'd take a draw. Reading through this thread and both liverpool and united fans are slyly guilty of the same thing. Over/Underestimation.

Liverpool think they're in godlike form and that we're shite (come on LFC fans, we can just tell you're thinking this is an easy 3 points, even if you aren't directly saying it.)

Utd fans just may have been sold dreams by the spurs performance, we were brilliant but this will be a much harder test.

I'd take a draw gladly, liverpool need to win this more than we do. They go to arsenal next were I don't see them getting any points while we will stuff villa at home. A draw doesn't work for them, but it works for us. A win is better also.

We need to be fast on the wings to break them on the counter like we did to arsenal in November. They will defo come guns blazing.

Got a horrible feeling we will be slapped by them.

The thought of Sterling, Coutinho and Sturridge running at Smalling, Jones or Evans gives me the fear.

Smalling-Rojo would be the best combo. Not that it wont be panicky and we will all be terrified when Smalling will have the ball but its the least dangerous combination.

I have to agree. Although the worry is Liverpool press very well across the front three, and Smalling panicky and closed down with the ball at his feet is something none of us want to see.

The thought of De Gea behind them should give you some comfort though

I think Mata will be relegated to the bench in spite of his good performance vs Spurs.

van Gaal will probably want pace on the counter with Young and di Maria. And Fellaini won't be dropped because he will want that physical advantage.

I am worried about this which is why I would like Rojo in there. Smalling and Jones have been equally panicky on the ball this season so based on defensive performances I would play Smalling

Would like to see something like this:

    ...................De Gea.............
    ...Valencia...Smalling...Jones...Rojo....
    ..............Carrick...Blind........
    .......Herrera..Fellaini..Di Maria.................
    ...................Rooney

with Herrera and Di Maria dropping back when Liverpool have possesion and then running from deep to provide chances for Rooney and Fellaini
