Ref felt he had to give those two yellows to endear himself to the crowd.Liverpool really are the most hateful club in the league.Let the contest for who can come up with the most divisive comment begin.A very tactically disciplined performance. You could say... Mourinho-esque. He's the ultimate crowd killer, the game-spoiler.
We've picked up a couple of silly bookings but other than that have been solid. Pogba anonymous yet again. Rather the standouts have been Fellaini and Herrera.
Hope we can nick a goal in the second half. Not sure whether Ibra is the man to provide it though. The high Liverpool line really doesn't do him any favours. Martial would've been huge for us.
I think the next best thing would be to bring Lingard on at the 65 minute mark for Ibra and push Rashford into the centre. I think for the first time today he's experiencing nerves - not sure out wide is the best place for him.Always fear we'll get a red in this fixture.
We had better teams than Liverpool in the past and struggled at Anfield.

It was only deserved because he fecked up to begin with, which is why you'd think there'd be some lenience. If he'd played a perfectly good advantage like he should've, there'd be no reason for Young to complain. Instead he makes two idiotic decisions within the space of five seconds.Jose's tactics is spot on. Glad that he didn't go with the sit back and soak up the pressure thing.I think we played better tbh, albeit not great. It looked like a very good defensive performance, but I'm not sure if Liverpool are tame or we contain them.
Classical 6-3-1 at times though, with Rash and Young very very deep. Reminiscent of some great Mourinho wins iircShite game. Only positive is that after 20 or mins we look like we've started to put our passing game together, now need to take that into the second and step up this sedentary pace.Very good organisation. Don't understand why Pogba is playing as a 9,5 ? he's been total shit along with Ibra and Rashford.
Fellaini, Blind, Herrera fantastic so far.Mourinho has his tactics spot on. Firmino is our only player who looks comfortable on the ball. Fellaini has been good for your lot imo, big contrast with Pogba.And D- for the ref, what an arse.Almost too comfortable for us.

Yep.Pogba wants twice the time available dwelling on the ball in this match.Bailly's yellow card was farcical. Foul, yes. Yellow, never.Shite half, but we contained them really well. We keep this up in the second and they wont create much.
Sadly, same can be said for us. With that high press they are bound to create space to counter in but we lack the incisiveness. Pogba has been meh. Really need to step it up to justify that pricetag

To be honest I think that's exactly the half mourinho wanted. They would have wanted to score a goal or 2 in the first half and stopped them.I would put Mata in.
Well it's an extremely tactical game. Aren't you guys always bigging other leagues for being more tactical?Apart from the shit yellows, I'm pretty happy with the performance so far. Liverpool hardly looked dangerous, but we haven't really showed much threat on the attacking front either.Reasonable half. We've done well to nullify them and keep the crowd quiet, but not enough to cause them real problems.
Some good play to beat their press though. Pogba looks so comfortable when being pressed, and everyone is just bouncing off Ibra.
I don't disagree with that but it would be insane for the ref to book 6 players at once. Young and Rooney are constantly walking up the ref to voice their complaints.
Its called a joke.I think we've approached the game well enough. It would have been foolish to be too gung ho. We're doing well to frustrate them and not let the game get stretched. What we're lacking is a bit of quality at the attacking end of the pitch. We need to start getting some crosses in for Ibrahimovic, or Rashford needs to create more when he gets the ball. He should have the beating of Milner but he's shown no quality so far.Fellaini with a great half btw.Been frantic but low on quality, Herrera & Fellaini bossing the midfield.Defensively we've been good. Zilch in creativity in attack.People calling this game a snoozefest etc.
