I could see literally anything happening here. Them battering us or us dishing it to them.

As it stands, we cannot afford to lose. Changing by prediction to a 2-1 win for Man United.

Same, it's so hard to predict. I tentatively want to say that we'll win, because I think they'll leave themselves too open and if Pogba and Ibra are on form they can really take advantage. But both of them could have poor games and it's hard to see us winning if that's the case

klopp-savvy dortmunder here. if only united could really play that crucial, relentless, match-long high-pressing game while sitting tight with an amassed, yet ambitious defensive line, they'd have a chance to successfully topple liverpool's match plan. other than that, it may as well all boil down to sheer luck, which i wouldn't really count on, at the moment.

Well it could be thinking with my heart but I cant think of any Liverpool player that I would pick ahead of these. (I have added Phil Neal in)

    Shcmeichel
    Neal, Bruce, Ferdinand, Irwin
    Keane, Charlton, Robson
    Best, Cantona, Ronaldo

Im a huge fan of Dalgleish but have to go with Cantona ahead of him. I cant think of any Liverpool players I would pick ahead of Best and Ronaldo. Same deal in midfield, Gerard was a fantastic player but its a no brainer the 3 Utd players I have gone for there. Probably there is an argument to swap out Bruce or Ferdinand.

As someone else mentioned, an impossible task and in all fairness a Liverpool fans choice that might be more Liverpool biased would be a brilliant team.
Based on the layout of your squad I think there would be an argument for Hanson over Bruce and maybe Rush or Suarez over Cantona. Then again, I may have put RVN instead of Cantona in that team you picked, and then Paul McGrath over Bruce. I think Scousers may also argue for Barnes over Ronaldo, probably more of a team player than Ronaldo.

When I look at what I deemed United's best team, I find it very hard to see how any of United's legends or Liverpool's greats would make it stronger. If I do the same for maybe Liverpool's best team, again very hard to find a place for a Liverpool legend or United player to make it stronger. I mean would replacing Souness for Keane have made Liverpool better. I doubt Suarez for RVN would have made United stronger at the time.

I picked the layout of the team to fit who I really wanted so the truth is my team was picked with my personal bias clouding it and not an impartial view.

A loss would really dampen my expectations for the season, while a win would raise them.

Dreading the game though. Have a bad feeling about it.

Bleah, it's going to end 0-0 now. Are we there yet?

Also, speaking of daft journos (coming from the SAF thread), here's what Klopp said about Mourinho:

    Jurgen Klopp said:
He knows how successful football works. To like or not like the way he plays, why should he care? He has won the Champions League more times than I have played in it. That’s how it is. How can I say who is on the way here and who is on the way there? If I lose against Manchester United you will stand here and ask me: ‘So … what about your ways?’ I am not interested and absolutely not part of the group that says José Mourinho was or has been a good manager.

    I like Klopp.

Or the fact we have better players than Liverpool? Yes Klopp has a more settled team and playing well without doubt but he's been there longer. I have no fears long term we will be above Liverpool but tonight we may get beaten but if we win it shouldn't be a massive surprise. We simply have the better players almost in every position.

It feels weird having to go to work before this clash. I can hardly remember United vs these cnuts ever being on a Monday night in the league.

Can anyone from Sydney please tell me what time this game is starting tomorrow? Optus sport says 5am but livescore says 6am and United fixtures says 6am.

It starts in 12 hours and 9 minutes

There's a massive media Liverpool love-in recently. They all seem to think it's a guaranteed win for them tonight.

I would love it if we turned them over convincingly to shut them up.

Nothing about this fixture is guaranteed! The pundits have to pick a winner and the logical choice is Liverpool due to form but when does form ever play a part in these games?
It's going to be a very tight game I think and I can see a draw. Our attack is very good, our set piece defending, not so much. Both teams to score is highly likely

The opinions of the so-called pundits mean nothing.
Also if the likes of Merson are tipping us to win, I would rather he tipped us to lose!

Cant wait for tonight. Think we are going to win.

    Hope to see :

Us cnuts feel the same mate. Stupid to time to play. :)
I'm just watching it on TV, but we're an hour ahead of you here, time zone wise, and because of fecking train driver strike I have to get up at unholy hours (04:30) to drive to work (not trains running).

So best case is I have to struggle to stay awake to just watch the game, and then get up again just four hours later or so. Now add a loss to that, against you guys no less, and it's not looking good for neither my co-workers or my spouse tomorrow.

Would love us to win via a deflected goal of the referee in 96 th min when only 3 mins were added time. Add in three disallowed goals which were actually goals .

You've put my mind at ease a little, because deep down I think we're gonna get well and truly battered and to be honest, the hardest part with losing these games is the stick you have take from Liverpool supporting family and friends.

...and we also had 3 penalties not given, hit the bar 3 times & had 3 players sent off when they shouldn't have been?

Going tonight's game, very nervous and not overly confident. I'd love the win but I'll be happy with a draw. One good thing we can have good few beers this afternoon.

It might be the case of properly parking a plane tonight and hoping to be decisive when the opportunities come.

Deflected via balloon would be better

    Think we will see this

Press Henderson and Dont allow Countinho to have time on ball. We could get a positive result .
