Whilst people criticise Rashford, three of our last four goals wouldn't be scored without him.

Leicester are good for a goal so we need another. Think they will be all over us now in the second half.

A Saha type striker who could stay fit would be game changing for this Utd team, hold the ball up, use the ball well, but also run the channels and be an individual threat. Rash can give a lot of the latter stuff but just isn't great with his back to goal.
Martial if he ever stayed fit

Dangerous game. Leicester are a wounded animal. We need to score again, imo.

My favourite part of that half, other than the goal, was that bit of FIFA one touch passing out of pressure.

We really need to be more effective up front though. One goal lead is to dangerous.

You are really overhyping Martial - 2 goal in the whole of last season; 7 goals in the season before. If that was Rashford stats, he would be slaughtered.
It's not about goals, it's about knowing how to play proper football without messing up. Martial isn't going to score you flurry of goals but he'll improve your attack.

Some of the position Rashford found himself in, Martial would have made better situations out of them because he can actually link up the play, okay between the lines, hold up the ball and maintain possession, things Rashford is miserably failing in this game.

Not to mention, better decision making which will only further improve our attack.

50-50 possession at half time against a very poor Leicester, not good enough from united. No control in the midfield.
Exactly, the control is poor due to our poor forward lone and Bruno being careless on the ball as always. I would hook Bruno and Scott for Fred and Caseimiro.

OK so far but not much more than that. need a second goal to really hit their confidence but we have no focal point up front. no one holding it up and running in behind. for the millionth time I say "we need a proper centre forward". Rashford simply isn't it and I don't think Martial is either

Probably no point asking this here, but who would be best to partner Casemiro? Fred or Eriksen?

Fred & Casemiro have a good CM partnership for the Brazil national team although intrigued to see him in a midfield 3 with Eriksen & Bruno.

One thing that irritates the hell out of me is the way we cannot advance the ball in the air. Ever. It is very rare to see any forward movement of the ball in the air land on one of our players' heads.

The way this game has shaped up I think Ronaldo would be a good second half sub.

Dubvraka, casemiro, Antony & martial yet to come in. All players that would greatly help out weak spots in the team

Exactly, the control is poor due to our poor forward lone and Bruno being careless on the ball as always. I would hook Bruno and Scott for Fred and Caseimiro.
If you're going to play risk takers like Bruno you need someone with some composure in midfield. McTominay just doesn't have the quality.

    He's useful in a counter-attacking side.

This is the sort of game, against a side down on confidence and energy, where a hungry young lad like Garnacho could make a name for himself.

One thing you have to say for McTomminay is he seems to have a strong character. He will be aware of the heavy criticism he has come under from the fan base but he’s kept going and is currently playing really well, and I’m not generally a fan of his.

Gained some control after the goal, more willing to pass out and go through midifled gave us the control, after spending 25 mins going back to de gea for him to smash it long.

Should of creatd more chances been sloppy in attack so far, guarantee Leicester will come out fired up and try and get at us on second half they we were really poor I that first half.

I don’t get lines like this. So what if that isn’t his fault? What has that got to do with anything? And it is beyond obvious that nobody holds him accountable for the players we do not sign. What we DO, is hold him accountable for his performances, because he plays here. And contrary to statements like the above, I’m sure he doesn’t see himself in the same way, and as a footballer here, I would imagine he much rather be a regular starter than a rotation player. And he has been one, and his performances have been judged.

He’s also been a (very) big part of why this has been one of the worst United midfields in recent history, given the other two players he’s shared the midfield with are both better than him. Anyway, if he is indeed to stay, we of course hope for more good performances than bad ones, but he’s played enough times for us for me to not have the same confidence as you. This simply isn’t a United level midfielder. Rotation or not. There is/should be a standard here, and it should be better than this. Liverpool came to OT last week with Milner, Henderson and Elliott in their midfield and so much was made of that trio and how Liverpool need to strengthen. And they are ‘squad players’ there! Yet all more talented than Scott and still under great scrutiny.

    1. The point is that he's done his best. He may lack some ability but he's by no means lazy.
    2. I would argue he's better than the likes of Quinton Fortune.
    3. He's been pretty handy tonight.

So refreshing to see a United team that looks coached. It feels like this is the start of something much better

Need another goal, look steady but haven’t really looked a threat (apart from the actual goal)
Disagree - think we've been quite good at getting shots and opportunities.
