Same has happend to a lot of Manchester United players of who people claimed that they werent good enough. Cleverley and Gibson went to Everton and went down another level of Premier League club when they turned out to be not good enough. We had players like McNair or whatever his name was starting games and he turned out to not even be good enough to play for Sunderland.

Personally i think McT will have the same trajectory. He can go to a Everton/Newcastle/Villa level of team and a few years later he will be at Watford/Norwich/Fulham because he those Everton level teams have better players.
