We’re awful at home. I fancy you to beat us, in a game similar to last season.
Leicester shite at home, United great away...

We all know what's coming here, don't we?

9 points from next 3 and we could go top of the league, before going away to Liverpool on Jan 18th.

Every league game is a cup final now. Our defense has to be on point because if they fall asleep for 15 minutes Leicester could be 2 up with Vardy’s pace.

I think Dan James will come back in for this one
I hope not, this is not the kind of game for him at all. Leicester will sit deep and look to counter, we need players who can break them down. I'd keep Pogba and Greenwood in the side for this one.

We just need to mark Vardy and ensure he doesn’t get chances. He is by far their biggest goal threat.

If we don’t beat them, we don’t deserve to challenge for the title.
Deserving has no importance, losing to them wouldn't be the end of things. Season is still long

It's cliche and meme as feck at this point but it's a test for OGS and this team, in that it's a game that can be half-considered a title race game... something he's not been involved in yet.
Yea, Ole has never been involved in a title race before. :wenger:
    Sense the sarcasm...

We’re on a good run, I hope we make the most of it. No more sleepy away starts. Let’s get into their faces like we did today against Everton.

Leicester won't come at us, we'll have to break them down. Not the game for James, hope his decent outing vs Leeds doesn't make Ole want to play him here. Hopefully Greenwood or Cavani are fit to be the third attacker on Saturday. Don't foresee getting an early lead big enough to take off Bruno around the 60 minute mark, but one can dream.

    Full first XI with GW.

I have a bad feeling about this match, which means we'd win comfortably.

On a side note, can't imagine how the caf would jump on Ole if Bruno has a bad match and we lose or draw.

Just McT and AWB the two concerns.

Assuming they're out, :nervous: perfect time to try Pogba-Fred?
Not confident with Matic for this game.

    De Gea
    Axel -- Lindelof -- Maguire -- Shaw
    Pogba -- Fred
    Rashford -- Bruno -- Martial
    Cavani
Battle for the 2nd place, should go with attacking.
Subs to change system if we have to.

    Safer lineup:
    De Gea
    Axel -- Lindelof -- Maguire -- Shaw
    Fred -- Matic
    Rashford -- Bruno -- Pogba
    Martial

Vardy’s pace is quite sublime when you consider that he’s actually 33.
Pace is useless against our defence. If Lindelof starts with Fred and McTominay, then I'd expect Vardy to be comfortably dealt with.

    True

Agreed but I have a niggling suspicion Ole will start Fred and Matic. Hopefully I’m wrong.

The scheduling of this fixture gives us a big advantage for the Wolves game. Just have to get through this tough fixture first.

It's too much expectation to ask LiVARpool to drop 3+ points (somehow) in their next 3 games, just for us to overtake them, even if projecting 3 points for our game in hand.

They have quite easy 3 games and plenty of rest.

There is no telling when they would drop points, but as long as we continue our run of result, we're in title challenge form, and should push them.

    Any word on Scotty2Hottie?

Expect de Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Shaw, Fred, Rashford & Martial will all return to the starting XI. Bruno & Maguire obviously start, so it's just that other forward position and CM.

I remember Giggs going on a run vs Real Madrid and outpacing some young full back, he was about 55 years old.

Players will keep their pace if they look after themselves and keep fit.

I unfortunately think McTominay will be out injured and I can't see James starting - Leicester will be more compact and won't leave the spaces Leeds left. If McTominay was fit, I'd start him and play Pogba in a wide midfield type position just ahead of the midfield two.
However, I think I'd go with Fred and Pogba in a midfield two, with Greenwood, Bruno and Rashford ahead. Martial up top.

Yeah same. There'll probably be an element of rotation at some stage though.

This will be tough. We’ve got a bit of momentum going into this though so hopefully get the job done. That being said you don’t really know what you’re gonna get from this United side from one week to the next regardless of form. Need to start producing top performances consistently if we even want a sniff of a title challenge.

Not sure about that. Rather, I think Leicester will go out and press high, like most other teams have done against us this season. Everton did not last night, which allowed us to get the attackers involved and create hell lot of trouble for them. We may be the team playing on the counter, with Fred and Pogba in the middle. James - Martial - Rashford could be a good setup for this game.

    .................. De Gea

    Bissaka - Bailly - MaGuire - Shaw

    ............. Pogba - Fred

    .............. Fernandes

    Rashford - Martial - James

No, we would still be 5 pts behind if Liverpool keeps winning. But we need to win all our games for now. Beating Leicester to be some 2nd is a must for now. We have rested Fred and Scott, and Lindelof. Martial and Rashford have been rested 65mn. We need them to perform at high intensity against Leicester to get an early lead. Then we will breathe and stroll.

This would also have an added benefit of hammering the league from a psychological perspective. That’s the real benefit.

I've put McTominay and AWB in my line-up but I'll be ready to withdraw them when we hear more news.

As for the game I'm buoyed by the good starts we've had in the previous two games. We've shown we can actually turn up for a game on time so hopefully that continues. Leicester are similar to us in that they are a good team prone to poor performances, particularly at home. They certainly can be got at, and if our strikers remember to pack their shooting boots Im sure we'll win given our good form.

Shit like this should be banned.

And Leeds did press high yet still got thumped.

There is a reason Ancelotti was extra careful against us and sat deep. And there is also a reason why City came to play with 2 defensive midfielders and were shy to attack us. Same with Chelsea visit at Old Trafford.

Leicester won't be suicidal, they'll be cautious.

They will play similarly to how they played against Spurs. Sit back and hit us through Vardy, Barnes and Albrighton.

    Very true.

When I go to rival forums and see them use nonsenses like Manchester is VAR and bs like that it just makes me roll my eyes and it's similarly grating seeing it done in here too for rival teams.

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Fred
    Rashford Bruno Martial
    Cavani
Though wouldn't be surprised to see Pogba start, he's been good. Would be a huge win. Kind of pessimistic for this though, we never carry on good runs for long enough.

    de Gea
    Wan-Bissaka Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Matic
    McTominay Pogba
    Bruno
    Rashford Martial
McTominay and Pogba playing too well to be dropped. Harsh on Fred I know but I don't like him as a lone DM. They have nothing to fear out wide so I think a diamond works here, Pogba, McT, Martial. Rashford can drift wide anyway. Bailly over Lindelof because we need pace to combat the ball over the top to Vardy.

If offered a guaranteed draw right now I'd take it.
Why? We're not going to win the league with this attitude. It's Leicester City, not Manchester City.

One out of two. Lately, we´re smashing all presumably weaker teams, them pressing high or not.

Leeds and Everton aren’t significantly weak IMO we’ve just played to our strengths
Still need one or two to step up but it looks like it’s gelling

It's a coin flip when two talented teams play each other. I hope we do our jobs properly and keep our shape. We can penetrate their defence at the right time. Martial scoring will help his confidence no end and you could see him take the game to Leicester after that.

We're very good defensively since the Spurs defeat. We limit chances, we hold the midfield the best we've ever done post-Fergie, and our attack is lethal.

I'll take a 1-1 and move on, but fingers crossed we can nick a win, it would be huge.

    This.
A draw won't be a disaster - Leicester are 2nd in the league so aren't mugs!

But a win would start waking people up that we might be on the cusp of something big this season.
