I'm pretty much speechless.I dont think anyone is disputing that we were cheated here. Im also happy to ignore the minority who disagree. But we did allow their passion and hom support to get the better of us. Not enough closing down. Herrera too high up the pitch and naivety by Blackett. Dont think RAfael did anything wrong at all except running back to cover too quickly. Sick that people are blaming him
I just think that once it became 2-3 and, even more so 3-3, the Leicester players were almost floating on air and our lot just looked absolutely knackered. Seriously, all of our players looked completely fecked. Falcao has an excuse as he can't be 100% match fit yet but players like Di Maria, Blind, van Persie etc just looked like they were out on their feet. Leicester were carried through on adrenaline but there's no excuse for our players to be flagging so much playing one game per week.
Agree with that take on it. I'll add that I felt Rafael was a bit clumsy in allowing Vardy the chance to go down. Vardy knew he was coming from behind and sidestepped in front of him in search for the contact. As soon as he felt something he went down like a sack of potatoes. Ashley would have been proud of that.We didn't look like a team who'd had a weeks rest. di Maria off again, who was our engine, the defence looked leggy and There was no movement whatsoever up front. We knew that Leicester come back righting when they're losing, yet we completely went to pot after the pen. It's so frustrating and another chance to get a run going goes begging.
The only things that make me survive this is that we have got to expect this. I mean we have had 3 worse games before this and last season we had games that really destroyed you like the semi final defeat in the league cup. The Fa cup defeat to Swansea. Liverpool home and City home and away just to mention a few and don't forget Fulham at home too.
We are mentally so weak now and not even the magic of Di Maria seem to get that out of us.
We had to lose today. Liverpool lost last night, Clattenburg had to take it out on someone.
The criticism is that he put himself into a position he didn't need to be in. He was clearly fouled, he didn't get the decision. so the red mist came over him and he does what he always does in those situations. He made it easy for the referee. The whole teas heads dropped because of it. He dived in many times during the game after losing the ball/tackle.
I saw that ugly face and thought of Atkinson. Both as bad as each other

The problem I have with Van Gaal is how and why he takes off the best players. He had no reason whatsoever to take off Di Maria and Falcao.
Furthermore, if Louis wants to prove his worth, he better starts having our Ds working on defending like Mourinho does regardless of who plays at the back. I just have enough of seeing us leaking in goals.

Trying not to blame the ref but how can I not when the opposition were gifted not 1 but two goals and there FIRST TWO goals at that? If Cambiasso scores to make it 3-1 I don't see them winning or scoring a further 3 goals. The ref and his linesmen were poor all game, the cross that produced the first goal was from off the pitch and the 2nd wasn't even a penalty. Totally disgusted with the result today they collapsed after the 2nd and 3rd goal and that has to be looked at. LVG didn't really defend us in the post match interview he must way more vocal and do more if he wants to stop these poor decisions against us Fergie would never have allow that.It was apparent why Di Maria and Falcao were taken off.They were clearly tired and needed rest.No point in risking injuries.
The referee had a shocker.
We need to tighten up defensively though.Attacking wise we were terrific .We shall score in every match from now on with these forwards and midfield.
Thats a huge positive and something to build upon.I still think there are a lot of changes to our squad (6 new players in 1st 11 and none have played in the premier league before), the system is new for players like rooney, vanpersie smalling/evans and rafael.We are trying to play a possession based game which is difficult to do in the premier league when the opponents have all the freedom to play dirty if the refs not on his job especially away from home

What an awful decision. The penalty changed the game, no doubt about that.
That said, we shouldn't have capitulated like that. It was like Nani and Real Madrid all over again. We didn't know what hit us and, even at 3-2, we should have locked the game down, retained the ball, and made it easy for ourselves. Instead we kept pushing on, left gaping holes, and were found out.
Such a shame the ref ruined the game, we were in cruise control at that point, but we still shouldn't have thrown the game away.
So gutted right now.Total lack of grit... though when not one decision of any importance goes your way, i admit its hard. Sign of a real team however is when whatever happens the heads don't go down. Utd have a way to go in this respect. It obviously wasn't all negative and there were obviously moments of brilliance and decent passages of play. I think Herrera is really beginning to look good although his positioning needs adjusting, di Maria is just a pleasure to watch and there were positive aspects to everones game. I'm a little concerned with VdG's insistence on giving van Persie a full 90 mins despite his goal - he doesn't look sharp at all and I'm still not convinced by his partnership with Rooney. I think Rooney's interplay with di Maria looks much more convincing Also nice to see Rooney keeping control & not getting sent off at the end. Feel sorry for Blackett and hope his suspension doesn't push him too far back down the pecking order but it must surely open a door for Luke ShawThis is a good lesson for United (you'd think they'd have learnt it after last season with all the last minute comebacks by other teams). We felt Nugent was fouled before you broke away for your second, so that evens out the 1st pen from my POV.
1st pen maybe a foul by Vardy first looked shoulder to shoulder at the time to me (I'm behind that goal) so I'd need to see that again, that said, stupid from Rafael to charge back like that, if that's Falcao at the other end people would be calling him "cute" for getting the penalty. And btw after all the didgy pens you've gotten over the years its a bit much, but understandable, to see you blaming the ref now.
second penalty I felt sorry for Blackett really don't think there was a need to send him off but I suppose its a letter of the law thing.
De Laet sending off? I don't remember the second challenge as I thought the incident was Drinkwater bringing him down but it was at the other end of the ground so I could be mistaken.
I said to the people around me at the game at HT that if we got a leveller you'd fall apart, said the same at 1-3 and never felt the game was lost, what we did going forward was what I pointed out the other night exposed the obvious weaknesses in your midfield and back line. Evans was awful, IMO, when on and I thought Smalling played well.
An amazing game which I'll enjoy watching back, good luck for the rest of the season, you'll win more then you'll lose and not many have a pain in the arse like Vardy to put that much pressure your back 4We needed to play a less risky passing game when we were 2-0 up or 3-1 up.I think all of their goals were when we were trying to play a through ball or something more intricate when a more subdued approach would had benefited for our players to maintain positions as were all over the place, getting drawn away from their respective positions.We can blame the defenders as much as we can and rightly so but as LVG said it was the defensive organisation that was lacking .Weve done well to sort out our attacking play but defensively as a unit LVG/Giggs need to just set the heads right, not just the back 4 but even blind, herrera .If carrick is played I think he will help in this regards as i think he does well to set the tempo when to slow it down which was needed today.We went 2-0 up at 16mins we concede on the 17th minute on a counter.then again we go 3-1 up on 57 min we concede 2 more immediately .I think Blind/Herrera should had done better to just slow it down when we were leading
