This is going to be a real struggle.

You do realize we thoroughly outplayed them Wednesday, right? Their 2nd goal started from a handball and then a fluke from Varane who should have let it roll to DDG.

This will be Aston Villa again Dropped points to their "new manager bounce" and then 3 days later smacked them.

Can we not put shaw as dm, the guy is a great naturally gifted all rounder

I think we'll drop points again unfortunately. The number of games is catching up to the players, they look tired even against palace. Leeds fans will be bouncing, plus our away record isn't that great.

Yeah and not surprising when you consider the fact we could be missing maybe 6 players for this

My heart says we’re winning this but my mind tells me differently. The slump I was expecting a few weeks ago has started. It is also the worst possible time to experience all the injuries. We could be out of all competitions early March.

I guess this season we just have to be happy of the progress we made. It’s been fun under Ten Hag so far!

Yeah right now I would take League Cup and top 4

If we play Martinez in midfield we will be fine. Has the composure, passing and presence to easily be a great DM. Has also played there before so that helps. Will be very tough to get anything out of this game otherwise.

    DDG
    AWB Varane Shaw Dalot
    Sabitzer Lisandro
    Sancho Bruno Garnacho
    Rashford

Our clean sheets have dried up in the league, none in the last five games. We need to shore up again to improve our goal difference and see out games. Easier said than done when we are struggling with injuries.

Strangely enough I feel more confident about this Sunday than I did the midweek game. Be nice to see Sancho from the start this time. Hopefully the result has put a rocket up the asses of the players. Top 4 is no certainty with our current form.

    DDG
    Dalot Varane Shaw Malacia
    Sabitzer Martinez
    Sancho Bruno Garnacho
    Rashford

This looks like our best option, we need to get all three points, please no Wout for this.

Like the team but still don't see Martinez playing in that number six role

Need to start the game better, and have patience, can see the game following same pattern, they will counter attack, when we have the ball need to look after it better.
Can see UTD coming through this game with a winner in last 20 mins. We don't score many away so I'd take 0-1 .

Another draw I reckon which will be 9/18 points. Really need to be beating Leicester and get on a roll again or we’ll be out the top four soon enough. I do think we will be knocked out of Europa so that will be less games at least but our form going into the Carabao cup final could be quite sketchy.

    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelof - Martinez - Shaw
    Fred - Sabitzer
    Pellistri - Bruno - Sancho
    Rashford

    Must win this.

Piano-carrying Fred may produce a blinder just to confirm how unpredictable his performances have been but I doubt it.

We’ll be lucky to scrape a narrow win. Can’t wait until Casemiro is back!

Nailed on loss given the fact results went our way today.

If Fred plays the chance of losing is magnified x 10000

    You sound fun

We should win, we were unlucky not to win Wednesday. More shots and all that.

These posts, they actually come off as they only looked at the scoreline and didn't even watch the match.

    32% more possesion
    24 shots to 8
needed world class saves from their GK
needed Garnacho to not pass to Weghorst who would have tapped it in on an open goal
needed a fluke miskick by Varane who should have let DDG get it

I don't get the doom. They caught us out a bit at OT because EtH could not be certain how they would play given caretaker coaches. Once he figured it out and made changes we pummelled them for the last 30 and could easily have won it.

Hoping not to see Weghorst and only 1 of Fred/Sabitzer to address the issues from midweek. If Antony is fit he should come back into the team. Sancho definitely needs to start.

    De Gea
    Dalot Varane Martinez Shaw
    Lindelof Fred
    Sancho Bruno Garnacho
    Rashford

Once again another huge opportunity has been presented to us to try to pull away from other contenders in the top 4 race. Will we take it? Need players to stand up and be counted tomorrow. If we end up not making the top, we will have only ourselves to blame.

Weghorst must be demoted to the bench option role, I think it is clear to ETH as well that he is not suitable as a starter, which he might have known already but as having no real alternatives was forced to start him.

I'm hoping Sancho is fit enough to start but I'm afraid he'll come again from the bench. Having so many injuries (or bans) at the moment is a worry. I don't see Lindelöf starting as a DM, even though he might not be the worst option there.

Dalot must really step up now, no hospital passes, I'm sure he knows that the previous encounter wasn't great from him and he wants to improve from that very quickly, or otherwise AWB will get back to starting lineup (when fit), a scenario which just a while ago wasn't within view. AWB has improved a lot (which just states that competition for positions is very important). If AWB is available I think Dalot is benched now.

So I'm hoping for this lineup.

    De Gea
    AWB Varane Martinez Shaw
    Sabitzer Fred
    Sancho Bruno Garnacho
    Rashford

What’s the backstory to why we consider Leeds ‘scum?’ Where / when did that start?

Ten Hag is a fast learner. It only took him one game to bench Maguire permanently. Tomorrow will be a different game to Wednesday.

Also see losing to Emery & Villa 3-1 and then days later beating them 4-2
