Manchester Evening News. Yes I watched the whole game, he did alright, hardly call it a brilliant performance, plus it was against Brighton.
He has been one of the only players to start every game in one of our worst periods in the history of the club. The football has been awful for the past few years and he hasn’t stood out at all. He’s not young anymore and has no potential left.

Why would he be dropped?
Many posters have been calling for him to be dropped in recent weeks.
Fully understand that but given he a) hasn't been dropped yet, b) was ok on Tuesday and c) is a considerably better player than Lindelof/Bailly/Jones, alongside RR's comments on Friday, I think we can safely say that he isn't being dropped.

For what it’s worth I think he needs to be in the side
There is hatred for most players in hereWe normally smash these but I’m not as confident today… rangnick as sorted our defence out a lot but we don’t score many. Solskjær style of play (counter attack) was well suited against Leeds as they play expansive football and are so open. If we play at our best though we should be comfortably winning and scoring a few goals.
I think pogba and Bruno will both start with possibly mctominay. Although both games we smashed Leeds mctominay and Fred were both crucial in them. They pressed Leeds which set us up for a lot of counter attacks. Pogba isn’t really the pressing type is he.

Indeed, I think having someone next to him would help. Of course, he'll never been world class but I wonder how Nicky Butt would have looked (and been criticised) if he's played in this team instead of in one that was our best of all timeHappy matchday y'allMust win today. I wish I could share in that sentiment but I have seen nothing that gives me a good feeling leading into any game.Maguire imo, is going to start along with Varane, lindelof will be on bench, but I do like Varane with Lindelof I don't think they been that bad. Pogba , Bruno, Mctom in a 3 , Sancho, Ronny, Rashford the other front 3. James is going to go up against Dalot, is my guess .
I think Nicky Butt is quite a good comparison actually, in terms of level rather than style necessarily. McTom is a nice squad option with a seemingly great attitude, but shouldn't be relied on to carry a midfield.Bruno as a false 9 with Sancho and Elanga a but more center please.
Very debatable.
Maguire at his best is better than Lindelof, but the only time he's actually been at his best was in the second half of last season. Less than one fifth of the time he's been at the club. During the rest of the time Lindelof has been more consistent and often better. Especially this season where it hasn't even been close.
I do expect Maguire to play as Ralf will want to give himself a bit more time before he has to make that call which will obviously be huge in the media, but if we are judging it purely on performance levels this season then Lindelof has been comfortably better.
Nick butt held his own with some of the best midfielders of his generation.- Status
